These are comfortable out of the box. Three days of wearing and I find a glue irregularity next to my right little toe has caused a blister. I cut open the insole to find a prominence of glue oozed into the foot bed during construction. ouch! I have found this common with shoes made in certain factories; lots of irregular glue lumps. Sometimes no two same pair of boots feels the same at all either because of the unevenness of the gluing of the inner footbed. These Doc Martins look nice, initially feel nice, but the quality was disappointing. I do not like having to repair expensive new shoes so I can wear them.

These are super handsome shoes. However, even though my son's other docs are this size and the length is correct, they are too big on him. He explained that it is an extremely roomy toe box and the fact that there are not a lot of laces to get them tighter, they fit very differently than his doc boots. We have to return them because they are too big. Again, lengthwise they are correct, just wider and very roomy. That could be what some folks need though! Thanks for easy returns, Zappos! :

I have had them for about three weeks. I was worried about other's reviews where the glue was hurting feet. I have not had that issue. These are the best shoes that I have had in a long time.

I purchased these boots for my husband as a Christmas gift. He loved the color, style, and the fact that the inside was cushioned. Definitely won points with this purchase!

Great pair of shoes, very comfortable perfect fit. I use these for work in a machine shop and they are great.

Nice shoe for my type of work. I work at a luxury car dealership in the Midwest and so need shoes that look good but can also handle the wild weather we have here. Theses really fit the bill and with the legendary durability of Docs, I’m liking these.

I hesitated about buying these I only wore 1460’s for 30 years and Chelsea boots last few years. I was happy they are very soft and well padded all over the inside. I didn’t have to break them in as they are already soft

I love the feel of these boots! So soft inside, like velvet and an air-cushioned sole. Only returning them because they are a true US size 11, and I'm more like a 10.5.

I am a luxury car salesman in the upper midwest. I'm hard on my shoes and need to have shoes that can withstand the elements and still look good with a jacket and tie. These fit the bill and reminded me why I loved my Doc's from my rebellious youth. I think I need these in both Black & Brown.

Very nice to handle inclement weather and looks nice enough to wear during the work day.

Very comfortable. A little extra room in the toe, which I like. Style works perfectly for business casual, but could work for other occasions as well.

On my fifth day wearing these boots and a happy camper. They seem to get more and more comfortable as you break them in. I have flat feet and so far I am doing alright with these. I am happy with the style and comfort of this boot. The inside walls and insole are lined with a padded, plush material that adds to the comfort. I usually wear a 10 in most shoes, but often a 9 in dress shoes, a 10 in these is the ideal size for me. I know for sure because I tried a 9 and they were too tight. No half sizes in these so make sure you have some breathing room when making your selection. I had to exchange my original purchase for a 10. I would recommend these boots.

My doctor told me to start wearing 3/4 shoes/boots to help heal a torn ligament. I shopped around and chose these. I wear 11 so that's what I ordered. I couldn't believe how good they felt when I put them on! They were instantly just about the most comfortable shoes I owned. The arch support is good...I wear adidas spezials for their excellent arch support (best ever) and these are right in the ballpark...they are very light too. They are far more comfortable than my older, taller Doc Marten work boots. I sort of wish they had one more lace for a little more ankle support, but that is only because of my current issue. It's been 2 weeks now and there're only feeling better. I haven't experienced any of the problems with glue some of the other reviewers mentioned. I am docking the style category 1 star for the goofy imprint on the heel, I almost didn't order them because of it, but in practical terms, you can't really even see or notice it. So, overall, from my point of view...highly recommended!

The fit feels good, perfect length but the the width is a tiny bit tight which I'm sure will improve with wear. The materials feel perfect.

I've had these shoes for about 4 months now. They've held up pretty well (besides the laces now starting to break) and I still very much like the look of them. My primary complaint is how slick the soles are, especially on snow and ice. Dr. Marten's rubber is already slick but since they shoes have very little tread they provide virtually no traction on ice, carpet, smooth concrete, and wood. I also find it difficult to truly feel snug on my feet even though they're laced up as tight as possible (that may just be my feet which are rather flat).

I am on my 3rd pair of these so can provide some real world background. These will last one year with typical daily wear (I typically am sitting at a desk M-F). After a year, the bottom sole will tear with small cracks and you will start getting small rocks, dirt, & water in your shoe. Has now happened twice and a 3rd time to a similar Dr.Martens Chukkah I tried. The soles on these are obviously poorly constructed. As someone who needs at least moderate arch support I find them comfortable and fairly light for a boot. I like them, I just wish they were made better.
