These are very nice chukka style shoes. Really like the sole on these as with all Doc Martins. However, for my foot the leather was too tight on the top of my foot. So, sadly I had to return them. Thank you Zappos for great service and your return policy.

These are good looking shoes. But for my feet they do not fit well. I have USA men's 9 wide and overpronate. I wanted these shoes for my trip to Paris since I will be walking around five miles a day on average going here and there. I did not take them because they feel like there is no support anywhere. Plus they were too big. Comparing the Giggs to the Sussex, Giggs win.

I love the wide width and area around the toes in the Dr Marten shoes. I purchased this same shoe and had the same problem after a couple days of wearing. I went to a mall and checked a half dozen different Dr Martens and this Sussex shoe was the only one with the problem. I am now looking for DMs that have removable insoles and when I purchase a new shoe I will run my finger around the inside perimeter before I wear them. If the shoe didn't have those bumps I would have been a excellent shoe.

Haven’t even owned these for one year and both soles have huge cracks side to side, which of course allow debris to get inside. What’s the warranty on these shoes? I work in a machine shop and am on my feet all day, but work boot soles shouldn’t crack in 10-11 months.

Very comfortable boots and I have purchased 4 pairs. The first 2 lasted about a year before cracks developed in the soles. I didn't think much of it because I literally wore them every day. The 3rd pair, however, only lasted about 9 months, and the last pair less than 6 months. What happens is tiny cracks will start forming in the soles, they may be almost imperceptible to the human eye, however, they are there. You will know, because even if you step in a puddle that is only a fraction of an inch deep, the moisture will wick straight up through the sole and you will have a wet foot all day. Absolutely maddening! The other thing that will happen is you will notice tiny little bits of dirt/gravel in your boot at the end of the day. Once this starts happening it keeps getting worse to the point where the cracks become visible and they become essentially unwearable. My last pair was barely broke in when I stepped in a wet spot in the pavement, barely a puddle. My foot was wet all day. I threw them away the next day. I will never buy them again. Too bad. It seems they cheeped out on the construction of the soles, what a shame.

Extremely comfortable, except for the same bump that everyone else has mentioned. It hurt the soles of my feet so bad. I didn't buy them on Zappos, but was considering coming here to potentially buy a new pair. Not now that I've seen that this model seems to have this common defect.
