I bought this bag to function as both my purse as well as my camera bag while I travel in Europe for three weeks this summer. The bag is big enough to stash my dSLR, wallet, water bottle, and other essentials, but small enough that it does not overwhelm my petite frame. I also like that its appearance is understated, and does not advertise the fact that I have an expensive camera inside. More things I like: the buckle closures on the front flap for added security, and the pocket on the back of the bag so that I tuck papers or brochures I might collect over the course of the day without having to open the main compartment of the bag. I do think the bag could use a couple of more organizing pockets on the inside; for example a few credit card organizer pockets would be nice. Another potential concern is that there is no padding on the shoulder strap. I do not yet know if this will create a comfort issue once the bag is loaded up. I will have to update this review after my travels and let you know!

I ordered this bag to replace my very worn waistbelt bag. I am very happy with the product. The construction is very durable and liquid repellant. The interior pockets work perfectly with smart phone, wallet and other day to day necessities. As a diabetic, it is easy to store all of my medical supplies with room for other items.

This is a great bag for a lot of reasons. Perfect for carrying and iPad or Kindle. Plenty of organizational pockets with dedicated pen storage. The light padding at the back and bottom make for a well constructed bag that doesn't lose its shape when set down. Great for travel when you have to have ID/Passport/Boarding Pass easily available. My husband likes mine so much he is getting one for himself. Nothing but praise for this product.

I really like this bag. I use this as a purse, not for computers. I bought this bag to a Mountainsmith satchel I got years ago and this one avoids all the problems that irked me about my other bag. The back side has a stiffish padding that helps to keep it upright, so it sits better, combined with the fact that it us deep so my items will not fall out. The way the pockets are organized I can find things much easier. It is not a black hole, which happens often with my other purses. I have read in other reviews that it bothers some people that there is no padding on the strap. I for one do not find this an issue. The bag is small enough you really will not be putting things of size/weight in there. And you do not have to constantly slide/adjust a pad every time you put it one. That was a huge annoyance with my last bag. I am very pleased with my purchase.

The bag is smaller than I thought. Cant fit my 13" mac book pro in it. Great if you're looking for a smaller bag. I do like it for carrying around books and files. Light weight, plenty of small pockets and looks good.

I use this bag as a diaper bag....or sometimes just for myself. The back pocket fits and iPad in its protective case perfectly. I use the zip pocket on the outside to hold my Smartphone since it's a larger than the inner pockets. I use the outside bottle holder for a baby bottle (just 1). This bag works perfectly as I run around town with my kids. The color is bright just as pictured. I have a bright personality so it works for me. You would want a bigger bag if you needed to stash more inside. I fit 3 diapers, formula, spare onesie, snacks for older kids, my wallet, and there is still a little room left.

Bought this because my washing machine ate my other similar bag which has been discontinued and I love this more. This is a different style than my old one and I like it a lot more. Every bit of available space is utilized in one way or another. There are pockets and zippered compartments galore and the water bottle pouch is great. I like that it is unisex too so when I get tired of carrying everything, my husband can take a turn and not feel like he's wearing a purse. I love the size. It's not too big and not too small. It's just right for a woman on the go. I use it instead of a diaper bag or purse when traveling with the kids.

I used this for a convention and it worked great to hold my personal stuff, phone, papers, water bottle, etc. Even a sweater could fit as long as it wasn't too bulky. The reflective strip is great too for safety when walking at night.

This is the best bag! Especially if you're tall and need the length for a cross-shoulder bag. It took me awhile to find a bag with the right length. This bag is perfect! And the quality of material is outstanding. Durable and reliable, this bag will go the distance. Highly recommend!

Zappos is the perfect, most generous retailer around. Patagonia messengers come in three sizes, L, M and S, but they call them Critical Mass, Half Mass and MiniMass. Compared to other makes, Patagonia are high quality and I like that they are featherlight and do not have heavy unpleasant vinyl inside. The handle up top is also great and I like the car seat belt shoulder strap. There is no need for an extra shoulder pad on a bag of this size. For a day bag, I picked the MiniMass. I am a 5'7" man and this bag, albeit smaller than most messengers, does not look unmanly (mine is black). A bag that is too large makes it hard to find things, so pick the smallest you can fit your largest item into. My 11½" MacBook Air fits in comfortably along with many other daily essentials. My CamelBak bottles fit fine inside the end pouch. This just may be the best bag I have owned, and I have bought and sold my way through a couple of dozen over time.

It's a stylish man bag as my husband calls it and is the perfect size to tote all of his belongings on the go. In fact, it fits an iPad perfectly.

The bag is awesome. Not a huge bag, but perfect to throw a bunch of stuff in as you run out the door...keys, phone, wallet, mail, some snacks, a book, etc. Great pockets for everything. This keeps me from looking like a yard sale when I walk into work, otherwise I would have to wear an under-filled backpack.

I bought this for my daughter who is entering 4th grade this year and she loves it! It's the perfect size for her, not too big, not too small. She wanted a messenger bag and this is the perfect bag to begin school this year!

This is the new version of the mini-mass and Patagonia addressed all the issues I had with the older version. External buckles hold the front of the bag tightly closed. There is a pocket outside on the back for plane tickets or a paper. Inside is a zip pocket on the back, plus organizer pockets on the front including a securing slip pocket for a cell phone. The outside water bottle pocket is taller, so the bottle doesn't slip out. I can fit wallet, two pairs of glasses, cosmetic bag, tissues, and a scarf or light rain jacket inside. And my iPad fits perfectly. Now if they'd just make the strap nonslip, it would be perfect. As a cross body bag, it already is.

The color is more of a hot pink, but I love this bag. Very roomy for my iPad with case. Durable.

I love this bag! I actually bought it as a diaper bag for my husband and I'm going to get one for myself. It is the perfect size to carry shopping or to the beach. All the outer pockets make it easy to stash things in a hurry while more valuable things can be kept zipped up in the inner compartment. Color looks cool and since it's Pattagonia-it's very rugged and can stand getting beat up a bit by a family on the go.

Love this bag but hate the color choices. I was hoping to get a bag to carry my son's gear in that I could hand off to my husband, but other than black there is not a color here he would touch (or me for that matter)! A gray, tan or brown would be much better.

Love this bag! I wore it for two weeks on a trip to Italy and Greece. It carried a water bottle, point and shoot camera, guide book, passport copies, notebook, 2 iPhones, wallets, etc etc etc! The only downside was that if I really loaded it up, it would sometimes hurt my shoulder. That's when I would give it to my husband to wear. We purposely chose this bag because it looked "unisex." There was no way that he was going to want to carry something that looked like a purse. I wish the shoulder strap was padded, but other than that, it did everything we wanted.

I bought this bag to take on a 2 week Europe trip with my husband- we wanted a bag that would carry a guidebook, water bottle, a couple documents, a point and shoot camera, sunscreen, etc. I also wanted something that he wouldn't mind carrying (i. e. it wasn't girly). This bag worked perfectly! It held everything we needed and it didn't look like a purse, so my husband didn't mind carrying it when my shoulders got tired. After 2 weeks of wear, my shoulders did start to hurt, despite swapping the bag between the two of us. A shoulder strap pad would have been nice.

This really is a great little bag. Got back from the East Coast not too long ago, where I used the MiniMass every day. It lives up to its water repellent claim, though I wouldn't go any farther than "repellent." For example, water could potentially enter where the shoulder straps connect to the bag, though there is some overlap in fabric - not a problem in light rain. The water bottle pocket works well for small bottles/mugs, but is too short for larger ones, which could cause them to fall out. Finally, the straps that connect the flap to the bottom of the bag are adjustable, and plenty long enough to accommodate lots of expansion; however, there is no way to collect the excess strap when the bag is not full, so they just dangle down. It would have been nice, as CamelBak does on some of its packs, to include Velcro to coil up and hold the excess strap, or to have the excess strap attach to the rear of the bag. Otherwise, I've found the bag durable so far and a great size!

I purchased this bag for my husband who has difficulty keeping track of small personal items (ear buds, iPod, reading glasses, paperbacks) on long international flights. He says its just the right size for his stuff and the bright color is easy to see in dim airplane lighting. The smaller size works well; it's not as big and bulky as the usual messenger bags.

This is my go-to carry all bag. It\'s small enough to be cute and non-overwhelming on my frame, but large enough to stow an extra shirt, my DSLR and a water bottle in.

I ordered several messenger-style bags for an upcoming trip, and while none of them worked for me, thought I'd at least review them and maybe help someone else out. In addition to this bag I also bought the Overall Auburn, Osprey Flap Jill Mini & Keen Brooklyn II, check out those reviews if you want a comparison. Mini Mass: The front flap closes with 2 buckles. When you lift the front flap the main compartment is open. Inside this main compartment is a zippered pouch, a mesh pouch, closed with Velcro, three pen pouches, a padded cell phone pouch with a velcro-tab closure, another pocket the same size and a key hook. Also some sort of pouch on the inside along the side, though not sure what you could put in it as it is tall and narrow. There is additional small zipper lock on the front, as shown in the pictures and a full-width pocket on the back, closed by velcro. Did like the seatbelt-like strap on this bag, but every time I looked at the bag, felt like I should be delivering sandwiches for Jimmy Johns. Tablet users: My HP Touchpad (almost same dimensions as iPad) fit with the fitted case and with case logic padded case. Not a lot of extra room, but it fit. Right now it looks like I am going with the Travelon anti-theft hobo bag, which will hold a tablet in a padded case (a little snug, but does fit) and has a zipper on the main compartment, which includes a locking clip.

Product received was not the same one shown in the video. However, customer service worked with me to try and resolve and was very professional and adhered to their time specifications. I applaud the customer service team that handled my call.
