This thing works! It has made two pairs of shoes which were almost unbearable to wear for any length of time comfortable. I had to stretch them way more than the recommended overnight, but it hasn't hurt the shoes. Plus, it's just fun to have something this weird-looking hanging around the house.

It broke after two days. It works well unless you need a little extra stretch. I am going to look for a more heavy-duty shoe stretcher.

Love it so much that I came back to buy a second one. I agree with other reviewers that you may need to stretch longer than overnight, but even that amount of time made a noticeable difference for me the first time I used it. I also love that this includes the "buttons" so I can try to put a little more space where I need it. I have bunions that make it really hard to find shoes to fit, so I was thrilled to find that stretching actually works.

I am very happy that I bought this item. I used it in my heels that are too narrow in the toe area. I left the stretcher in each shoe for 6 days and it worked wonders. Previously I could not wear these heels past noon. Now, I can wear them all day. I'm very pleased. I also like the removable buttons and that that can be placed exactly where you need a little extra stretch Thank you for giving me back a pair of expensive heels!

This item is working great, and for a wooden shoe stretcher, you can't beat the price. So far I am hoping this product will not break as long as I'm gentle with it. Because of other reviews saying this product broke after a couple of uses, I've tried to take care to turn the crank slowly and evenly, just in case. I've used it on a couple of pairs of shoes now, and so far, so good. I have started out with gentle pressure because I don't want to over-stretch my shoes and have them be too loose. Gentle pressure overnight seemed like just enough to loosen up a pair of (not-so-supple) leather flats that were a little tight where I've got a bunion forming. The shoe feels like it was made for my foot now. What a relief! I love the removable bunion/button thingies that you can use to loosen up pressure areas on the shoe. This worked perfectly for what I assume is a tailor's bunion forming on my foot. (This area always rubs against almost any kind of shoe and causes discomfort.) I put a "button" in the hole on the shoe stretcher in that area, and it worked perfectly to give a little extra breathing room to that one small area without stretching out the whole width of the shoe too much. This solves a lot of problems for a lot of otherwise well-fitting pairs of shoes for me. And now I might not be so quick to dismiss shoes that are just a little too narrow in width, because I really feel like this will do the job to stretch out the toebox and help speed up the "break-in period" for new shoes. I only bought one stretcher, but you could certainly buy two if you are in a hurry to stretch out a pair of shoes at once. I have only used it on flats so far, but I like that it is designed for high heels as well. I will definitely be needing to use it for that too. Plus, this item is just cute and girlie, which admittedly, appeals to me. The pink wood stain serves absolutely no functional purpose, of course, but I love that it's pink. Cheers up the process a bit, and makes it easy to spot in your closet when you need it.
