I have two pair of Alegria work shoes that I absolutely love. I wear an 8.5 and these felt a half size too small. I ordered a regular width and they seemed to be just right given the shape of the shoe but, the toe box depth is shallow and rubbed painfully. I could not have worn anything but knee high hosier with these.

I bought this pair along with another pair of mary jane type shoes. I really wanted this one to work, but too small. Nothing wrong with the shoes. They are super cute, but I'm on my feet a lot during the day and too small doesn't go well with that. Sending them back, not re-ordering because the other pair I ordered with these fit great and I needed new work shoes asap. As always, Zappos quick delivery and return system is fabulous.

These seem very stiff, and I didn't feel that they would work well for me as Mary Janes. I have another pair that are more of a full foot shoe, and those are better. They are very well made and the pattern is beautiful, but the red looked deeper to me in real life, and I just didn't think I would wear them with as many things as I originally imagined. So I returned them. Really grateful for Zappos' customer service and return policy!

I just purchased the Belle and the Paloma shoes - my first exposure to these shoes. (Dansko refugee here...after they discontinued the Willa. Sob.) Both the Belle and Paloma are true to my Dansko EU size 40 fit which was lovely. I'm keeping the Paloma, but sending the Belle back, though, for two reasons. First, I require a very stiff sole in the forefoot due to hallux limitus (big toe joint arthritis). The Belle is too flexible for me. Second, the Belle's strap is frustratingly inconvenient - it's velcro but has to be looped through a tight metal buckle in order to secure. No thanks. I prefer the Paloma's simple velcro fastening: "press-n-seal".

This shoe does not fit if you have a high instep.

The soles had great padding, but the width was MUCH more than I expected. My foot runs narrow, but I can sometimes just tighten a shoe a little more and not have problems. In this case, that was impossible.

Wow, these shoes are shiny. I mean SHINY. If you like a lot of bling, you will like them but it's just too much for me. I felt like a 5 year old. They didn't look quite so blingy from the photo. (I got the wild 'Veranda' color.) I also didn't care for how the shoe was attached to the sole - they really look like granny's shoes. Thank you, Zappos, for making returns so easy.

These are way wide, all the way through, but would be a fine walking or work shoe for someone with a wide foot. Nice, round toe, and good instep strap.

Style is pretty cute for a shoe meant to help and feet. However, this shoe is NOT for someone with Hallux Limitis (big toe stiffness, bone spurs). I could barely get this shoe on and I ordered a size up. Way too tight and stiff across the toe bed. Caused pain within 30 seconds so I returned.

I really like the way these shoes look and feel ... but these shoes make a sound when I walk. At first I thought it was the bottom of the shoe but it isn’t...it is something in the sole/footbed of the shoe. It is loud to the point that I don’t wear the shoes.

Narrow but helpful I’ve been looking for more supportive shoes since i injured my right knee, and finally found a keeper in the Alegria brand. It actually also help to correct my gait as well. The shoe is very sturdy, but the seam across the top of the shoe is pretty tight for my high insteps. The toes on my left foot touch the top a bit on the 10, but not enough to warrant purchasing the 10.5. The arch support is fantastic, and the Velcro buckles are adjustible, so the shoe is not nearly as painful as it could be. I did buy a set of wide insoles from Alegria, so I may update once they are received.

My podiatrist recommended this shoe. I ordered my regular size in this sign but this particular shoe seems to run small. I will return and not seek a larger size as I really don't like the look of the shoe.

I wanted to like them...but the shiny leather (which I couldn't quite discern in the photo) plus comfort styling were a little too child-like for my workplace.

I usually wear 7.5 street shoe, 8 running shoe, and I got these in 37, which was about the right size. The back of the shoe came up too high and bit into the spot below my ankle bone. This happens a lot to me, so if your ankles are higher, I wouldn't worry about it. I loved the width of the toe box because I have bunions, but my big toe kept hitting the top of the shoe, which was uncomfortable. Also, the style was not as cute as it appeared in the photos. Normally I really like a squared, more blunt toe, but on my foot, the shoe looked very clunky and school-marmish. I have skinny ankles, and maybe the style would work better on thicker ankles. Workmanship and quality were great.

In the photo, these do not appear shiny. But in person, they are so shiny they look like a toddler's Mary Jane! Hey I'm a grown woman. All I can think about is how my feet look like those of a two year old on Easter Sunday. Pretty comfortable but they do not have the arch support of Dansko. You will have to wear no show socks to keep this hard shiny shoe from rubbing blisters into your feet.

This shoe does not fit well for those with a high instep like me. The strap does not come completely undone like the Paloma, it is really tight on my foot. The shoe cuts into my foot by my toes and my big toe rubs the inside of the shoe. I normally wear a size 10, I ordered a 40 and it's too small. I'm returning and trying the Paloma.

I sooooo wanted to love these shoes. I love the coloring - not just an ordinary black and the style is so cute. But alas, I have a wide and 'high' (fat?) foot and the Mary Jane part of the shoe dug into my foot. And unfortunately they do NOT have this shoe in a wide size with this color. Terribly sad. I have another pair of Alegria shoes that I've worn for years and have been very happy so will try again someday.

Didn't like that they are patent leather. Toes section is wide and would seem to be comfortable but feels weird when toes are turned up so much. Returning these.

I loved the comfort of this shoe but there is no way that normal orthotics can fit as the foot bed is a very special one and much thicker than normal. I only wish the company had a flat foot bed with a normal removable insole. These shoes would be great for anyone with wide feet who does not need to wear custom orthotics. I do not think that this was mentioned in the information.

Nice casual shoes, great color. This is embossed leather, with a slight metallic sheen. Great with dark jeans. Really soft and nice leather. But they are wide and the heel feels lower than the toes. The arch is not quite where mine is, so my foot tends to slip forward. I'm looking to add an internal heel cup to resolve this, so not a deal breaker but still not as comfortable as they look.

I ordered the opal crackle and after the first day a huge black area appeared on the toe of the right shoe, out of nowhere... I do not know if the surface came off? Of if the black underlayment under the opal surface bleed through? I literally never even got them out from wearing them in my living room! Zaps was wonderful in exchanging them, but I think that the opal has a defect. I see this happened to someone else as well...

I wrongly assumed 'crinkle' meant a textured finish, but these shoes are more shiny - like patent leather.

I have wide feet with short, fat toes that are pretty much all the same length, so it is difficult to find a shoe that looks nice and doesn't constrict my toes. I love Alegrias because they have the square-ish toes and they look cute under my slacks while still being comfortable enough to stand in on days I teach classes. In the past I had two pairs of Alegria's Feliz model, which they apparently discontinued. This was the closest thing I could find to it so I ordered the black crinkle. The black crinkle was pretty shiny but not as shiny as black patent. It doesn't have a crinkle texture right out of the box but gets one with time as you wear it. I liked how the strap was adjustable and how the shoe had a low profile. The heel cup on the shoe was a lot snugger and rigid than the Feliz model was, though, and it gave me horrible blisters the first time I wore them. I did not have that trouble with my previous pairs because the heel area was more flexible. I ended up stretching them out a little and they fit great once I was actually able to wear them again. Overall, I liked the shoes but the blistering was bad enough that I'm not ordering them again. I'm instead going with Paloma. Its heel style reminds me more of the Feliz model even though the soles are a little chunkier. Hopefully they will work better.

I love the comfort of these shoes.My only complaint is that they squeak! I work in a hospital and when people turn around because they hear you coming down the hall is not good. They didn't squeak the first day I wore them. After that, they squeak very loud! I tried changing out the insole from another pair of Alegrias I have that don't squeak. This worked for one day. Now the squeak has returned. I have two other pair of Alegria shoes and have never have had this problem.

Heard Alegria is the brand to get working in the hospitality industry. I was excited this style was on sale. Zappos sent them fast. Ordered Friday delivered Monday. I'm disappointed I have to send them back. They fit ok. I bought a wide, but the souls are not thick enough for me. I work on concrete floors. Back they go.
