As always, Josef Seibel comes through with a basic, well-constructed, comfort shoe. I have nueropathy and the right shoe is a must. Every couple of years, I replace my sturdy Josef Seibel shoe for the current style. I also purchase other shoes of that brand in addition and am always satisfied with quality and comfort. It helps, too, that the sizes are consistent, and I always know the shoe will fit when I order online.

Josef Seibel shoes are the most comfortable shoes I can find for my hard to comfort feet! I have purchased them for years and this pair is my latest. I need really good arch support and although these are very good, I use my own orthotics so the removable insole is great. I wear a size 9 and a 40 in this style is a little roomy but I like it that way, especially for socks.

The shoes squeak. The color was a dull brown color. The description said maron.

These shoes are beautiful and have the best leather! I'm very sad that these are really quite wide (I checked to see if I accidently ordered a wide, or something... nope) If they fit, I'm quite sure I these would be my go-to daily work shoes. Sadly, I must return them. As a side note... these arrived with what I think is a shoe polish smudge on them, right on the strap. There was some polish on the tissue paper that I tore off to avoid further smudges.

Love the style and fit, but the shoes are very squeaky, even on carpet.

I am extremely particular about my shoes. I have very sensitive skin and can't handle anything rubbing against my ankle bone, tops of my feet, achilles heel. I have a very high arch and slightly wide feet. I prefer to wear my shoes roomy, however, I needed to size 2 sizes down. They run very very big! I usually wear a size 8, but had to order a size 37. I really like the clean, classic lines of the shoe, very versatile. I'm a teacher and on my feet all day long. Goes well with slacks. I usually wear Superfeet insoles (green ones) but these insoles have arch support and I feel they will work. After 2 returns, having to size down twice - I can happily say that I am satisfied and happy with my shoe purchase.

Great looking shoe. Nice cushioning for my fussy feet. But, I usually take a 39 and my feet were swimming in these. I'm now ordering the 38 and will hope that they fit.

I have owned several pairs of Josef Siebels over the last 15 years and have worn them into the ground. I was excited to see a style similar to one that I still have. I was shocked at how wide these are now! Way too wide for me to wear unless I have really thick socks. Sadly they will be going back.

I just received my shoe and I'm amazed how light it is. My orthotic fit easily into the shoe with plenty of room. Nicely wide in the toe box but not swimingly so. Great comfort so far with a nice look. I knew the buckle was plastic when I ordered it based on prior reviews, would be a little nicer if it was metal.

This is my second pair of Josef Seibel's and I love them! I ordered several shoes to find the right one and it was no contest. Feels like it was made just for my foot. Not crazy about the velcro and buckle but my feet feel great all day so I can live with them.

I loved the look of these shoes, and they felt very comfortable - or seemed like they would be. Unfortunately, I seem to be an "in-between" size. The 38 was too big; the 37 was too small. They provided good arch support, and large toe box which is great if you sport a bunion! The leather was quite soft, and the heel size was just right for an everyday shoe. I was disappointed I could not get a perfect fit with the Euro sizing.

It runs a little larger but you can adjust the shoe to your foot and it does not move. This shoe is more than comfortable and perfect if you need to be on your feet, walking, standing, many hours a day.

Tried a size 41 at a local store; it was too large and they didn't have 40. The 40 I ordered had comfy footbed and toe box, but heel edge curved inward and rubbed my heal. Also, because I guess I have a high instep, the closure worked fine, but didn't cover the Velcro pad -- it left about 1" of Velcro exposed when the strap was tight. I imagine it would attract fibers and fuzz over time and look weird.

Love Josef Seibel shoes but this one ran large. My heels kept slipping out of the shoe. The shoe didn't feel too long so I didn't order a smaller size.

I purchased this shoe once before in size 37 and 38 hoping it would fit for trips to Europe. My older Josef Seibels were perfect for that purpose and have worn out. I returned the first two pair. Ordered this again in a 38 with great hopes that it would work with a Superfeet insert that I had used with my older Josef Seibels. Sadly, they did not. Still giving it 4 stars for women who can make this shoe work.Love the width of the toe box for all day wear. Nothing better than this type of shoe for going over cobblestones and other uneven terrain. You can wear these ALL DAY and not have your feet tire. Giving 3 stars on the style, but that is not why I buy these shoes.

I'm very happy with these shoes - as usual, they are very comfortable, and they accommodate my orthotics well once I remove the insole. The reason I gave these four stars rather than five is that I have fairly high arches, so once I adjust the flap to fit, a lot of Velcro shows on the side. It is a much lighter brown than the shoe, so it is obvious and detracts from the style. They could have used a dark brown Velcro to match the leather. That said, fit is hard for me to find, so it trumps style. A heads up to those with orthotics: when I first put them in, one of the shoes squeaked when I walked. This did not happen if I used the provided insole. I ordered a new pair of the same shoes, and both shoes squeaked. I decided to wear the shoes in the house for a couple of days, and sure enough the shoes stopped squeaking as the orthotics settled in.

I ordered these shoes to replace a pair of Ecco that I had for over 10 years and loved. The arch support didn't feel as though it aligned with my foot. However, I solved that problem by pulling them out and putting in my own orthotics. The shoes are also a little wider than I expected and so I wear a heavier sock with them. They are adjustable to a certain extent with the velcro closure. As a result of the above, I have given the shoes 4 stars on overall. They are priced fairly and not made in China! These shoes are great walking shoes once the minor inconveniences are overcome.

These shoes were attractive, but appear to be made for a wide foot. I have purchased Josef Seibel before, and normally their generous toe-box fits my 7M foot fine. These would only work if worn with thick socks--too much sideways wiggle room otherwise--so I returned them with regret.

Thought they were too clunky and wanted something a bit more refined to replace another pair of Josef Seibel. Returning

This shoe was very comfortable, and I loved the styling. The only reason I'm returning them is because they sqeak - VERY loudly. The floor surface was not the problem. They squeak on the inside construction. Too bad, I really liked them.

Clog fit in a loafer style. Cute clunky look. But the “leather” was that new cardboard-like leather. The shoe would end up crinkling, not breaking in like a more traditionally treated leather. I was almost willing to overlook that, but the plastic buckle was not a true buckle. Iit was affixed to a Velcro strap. The wear of the Velcro would’ve shortened the life of the shoe. Josef Seibel joins the ranks of other great shoemakers who have turned to poorer quality materials in their products. I’d be willing to pay more to get a quality shoe in a nice leather.

Loved the style and comfort enough to keep them despite the fact they gap away from my foot on the outer edge at the ankle. If I weren't going to wear them with long pants, they would have been returned. Hate to pay $150 for shoes and have them gap...but have searched high and low for a style like them so decided to keep them. Will certainly keep looking after this.

I really wanted to like these shoes, but ultimately, they were just too big and not supportive. In most shoes I take a 37, but I needed to send these back for a 36. The insole is light and spongy (no support), so I removed that and put in an insert for arch support. I was hopeful that I could adjust the shoe fit with the Velcro fastening, but I couldn't pull it tight enough. I love the wide toebox. But the shoe overall in width is very roomy, so even with good socks, my foot was still moving around a lot side-to-side, and I can't have that. With shoes this pricey, they need to be perfect, and these weren't.

This shoe has so much longer than the Ecco in same size. Much too big.

I bought the brown. 40 was way too long. 39 fit perfectly but when I removed the insole, I discovered the sole had the curve of an arch support which makes it impossible to use orthodics. These are cute shoes.
