I purchased this one with the intent of wearing it for Holiday photos, which ended up being taken out side, with green foliage. I would have vanished completely. Aside from that it's a perfect, very flattering style!

Love this dress! Scrunches in just the right places! If you are bigger on top, this will be a good fit. I am 5'6, 140 lbs, 36d, the medium is a perfect fit! The length hits me at the knee.

I needed a great little black dress. I am 5'6", 150 pounds and the medium was too tight. But a large looked awesome. The right size makes all the difference.

I ordered this in a large based on the previous reviews and I'm exchanging it for a med. I'm 5'9 about 145 lbs and the medium fits great. It's the perfect little black dress with beach sandals or high heels depending on what you need.

This is a true stunner of dress that hugs the body and flatters the shape. The color is gorgeous and is a richer, deeper red than pictured. As another interviewer suggested, seamless undergarments are required under this sexy, clingy, jersey. This dress can easily go from office to out on the town by adding a jacket. Norma Kamali is a genius and I am thrilled she has created this versatile, affordable line.

I must agree with the other reviewers that the color of this dress is gorgeous. I ordered a size up from the usual to offset the clinginess issue, but unfortunately the problem remained due to the extreme thinness and slinkiness of the material. The reviewer who is 5'11 and 145 pounds has a BMI of 20, so telling her to eat right and exercise to make the dress work is a bit silly. My BMI is 19 and I have very little body fat on my upper body. Even with seamless undergarments, my ribs showed -- not a look I want to wear out on the town. I agree that a thicker material would work better, and would be happy to pay for it. I must say, though, that this line seems better than the line Kamali was selling for a while at Walmart.

Way too snug! I even ordered up a size and I thought I was going to rip the seams trying it on. I'm 5'8, 125 and ordered a med. I think I'd need an XL after seeing how tight the Med was. Also, I was disappointed in the quality of the fabric. It's a very thin lycra/nylon...not a good combo for a slim fitting dress. Shows everything on your body.

This dress fits very nice and comfortable. I am planning on ordering in another color also. It us hard to find flattering dresses because I have a large chest 34DD and small hips and tummy. Everything is too tight on top or too big on the bottom. This dress hugs every curve perfectly.

I'm 5'9" and 155lbs. I tried both long and short sleeves in this dress in medium and large. Both sizes could have worked, I went for the medium because it gave it a bit more sexy edge. The large seemed to "mature" the look, and the neck gaped a teeny bit on the large. I also liked the sleeveless better. The material is thin, but nothing spanx can't cure. Also, the ruching does camouflage the belly a bit. As long as the dress stands up to washings, I can see this remaining in my closet for a long time. This was my first kamalikulture dress, and I'll be trying more! Also, OF COURSE, Zappos is ridiculously awesome. No other online shop compares. Just wish they sold MORE ITEMS. Keep up the good work. Great dress! I threw it on as soon as it arrived- even with the wrong bra it was perfect. Get the size right, though; I'm 36B but a large-ish rib cage, 29 waist and 39 hips, 5'8" and 135. I usually wear a size ten and alter to fit. I bravely went for a large for this. Medium would have been tight/body-con. The ruching on this not only pulls it in where needed but, of course, disguises the little bumps. There is a line of ruching up the center back seam that is amazingly flattering. Fabric is pretty lux, could possibly wear it to a formal affair. Harder to dress down, just looks too good! Neckline covers everything with a nice true boatneck. Length on me is just below the knee. I'm going to shop this brand a lot more now!

This is a great utility wardrobe piece, especially for travel. It is a nice length (not too short, right above knee for me at 5'7") and it goes with flats or heels, can be accessorized up or down. The cut of the neckline is very flattering to shoulders - inset a little bit but still bra friendly. The fabric is thin, but depending on your fit preference you can skip shapers thanks to the shirring. I am usually a straight up medium (8 in most things) and the medium fits me snug but not too tightly. And it rolls up into a little ball for your suitcase.

Very flattering dress. Love the eggplant color. Really comfortable too. Ordered a size up based off everyone's suggestions and that was right on. Need to wear Spanx underneath, but I usually do that for dresses anyways.

Regarding sizing, I am 5'5", 110 pounds, waist 26, and ordered a medium as reviews said it ran small. It does. I could have used the small, but it would have fit snugly. The medium feels comfortable and looks ok without making my tummy stick out!

I bought this for my wife for a Valentine's gift. She loves it. She normally wears either an XS or Sm (115 lbs, 5'6") This has a snug fit and she preferred the Sm although either would work. I thought it looked great on her. Looking forward to going out with her wearing it.

I absolutely love this dress! It's length and higher neckline make it classy, with a shape flattering curve at the waist and hips. No-show pantie are a must - it's quite fitted through the behind! I felt both classy and sexy wearing this dress.

This dress is absolutely phenomenal for the price. I am 5'2" and have a 33" bust and 25" waist. I ordered a small in the eggplant color and it fits very comfortably. It runs a little long on me due to my height and reaches down to the bottom of my knees, but it doesn't look out of place at all and the shape of the skirt makes it work fine. All the ruches make this dress hug every curve and the back cinching ends just at the top of your butt which makes the dress lay beautifully in the back. The fabric is a little on the thinner side, but it's heavy enough that I would never be concerned about it being see-through. You do have to wear some sort of seamless underwear, but I didn't have a problem with the lace or edges of my bra showing up under the fabric except for the straps on my back which is to be expected. This dress looks great with a jacket and some heels. Great purchase!

This dress is pretty comfortable, very pretty and more than affordable. I usually wear a small but followed other reviews and ordered a large in this dress. It fits a tiny bit loosely but I will keep it!

This dress is awesome! I'm 5'6", 160 lbs and wear ddd bra size. It's hard for me to find a dress that fits both my upper body and lower since I'm pretty top heavy. I feel like a either a hooker or an old granny in most styles. This dress is sexy and modest at the same time. I'm able to wear one of my favorite bras with it so I feel comfortable and the shirred sides and back help camouflage a little tummy pooch. The fabric feels nice and the color is great, a nice deep rich blue. I ordered both the L and XL, and kept the large, the XL was just a bit too long for my body. I recommend this dress to anyone!

Great red color (more blue red than orange red). I ordered the small (usually wear a 4 or 6) It fit perfectly. Fitted and sexy. Could be dangerous...be careful where/with whom you choose to wear it! ;) Great value!

I love this dress and I love that Zappos' free shipping allows you to be able to figure out your size without risking money. I ordered a small and the next day free shipping was such a treat -- I don't know of any other company that offers that! The small was a little too tight and a little too short for my taste, so I ordered a medium which also came next day. Not knowing if the medium would be too large, I really appreciated the chance to have them both at the same time to compare them. The medium was perfect so I returned the small (for free). Zappos takes all the risk out of buying clothes on-line! About the dress: very thin material and no lining, but with the right undergarment can look just like the model. Love the hour glass shape and length just below the knee. Very elegant and great neckline for jewelery. Beautiful, elegant design! This will be my Chinese New Year celebration dress and my Valentines dinner dress this year!

I'm a curvy size 16, 5'6". tried several Kamalikulture dresses. This was the best for flattering fit & style, though as others have mentioned it will definitely require Spanx. Purchased this to go under a long cardigan or jacket of some kind. Should work nicely. Love it!
