I really wanted to love these boots. They are tall, waterproof, warm, stylish - just what I was looking for. Unfortunately they rubbed the back of my ankle (other viewers have referred to this as Achilles). No way would I be able to walk comfortably, so am returning. I got the gray which looks black - was really happy with the color.

Taller in front, too tall for shorter women. Also, calf is very wide. Not good for petite women. But the arch support is good. Will return for another item.

I ordered the grey color, and was disappointed that it is so dark as to look black. I checked and rechecked in every light. But the color was much darker than pictured online. Unfortunately Zappos could not tell me if this was a fluke or how every grey boot looks. Also, I wear a size 8 pant and there was so much extra room in the leg of the boot I had to fold the material over and it didn't look very good. So disappointed! I really wanted this boot to work for me.

These boots do run small. I’m a 9.5-10 and ordered a 10. Much too small. Ordered the 11 and they fit great. Recently had several days of near zero temps so naturally, that’s when you need groceries. In cleaning off the truck, standing in a foot of snow, in those cold temps, my feel were warm! Lived in western New York all my 60+ years and this is a first!!! Boots that actually kept my feet warm!! Five stars for style because they’re a cold weather boot. Not a going to a club kinda boot. If you live where it’s cold, you need this boot!! I don’t have an issue with arch support, if a shoe/boot doesn’t have enough, just get inserts. I’m thinking I might with these, but haven’t had an issue yet as I wear heavy socks with them. Overall... Excellent cold weather boot! Waterproof too. Your feet will stay warm and dry.

Love this boot! I tried a number of different brands and styles looking for the perfect winter boot without success. I live in MI, so I'm not playing around when looking for a winter boot! In a last ditch effort I ordered these. LOVE THEM! I put in my own arch support (power step) as I do with most of my shoes and I've been super happy. I wear 8.5-9 and opted for a 9 in this boot. I don't think I could wear them with thick socks as the length is just right, but I can't imagine ever needing them. They are full-on winter boots, but they are cute! Tall & super warm, they keep my feet dry but I feel like I can wear them at work with leggings and skirts. They may be too warm for some folks to wear all day at work, but I've been fine. You can easily tuck pants into them for your commute. Others complained about the zipper getting stuck, but I haven't had a problem. They fit my calves with a little extra room but still look fine. My feet have stayed dry in snowy and slushy conditions (I don't stomp in puddles, so I can't speak to that level of wet protection). I use a suede brush to clean the salt off, and I plan to use waterproofing spray to increase the protection for the long term, but haven't been able to yet since it hasn't stopped snowing long enough! The only downside is that the deep treads do pick up snow so you need to really stomp them clean to avoid tracking the outdoors inside. I'm thrilled with my purchase!

Excellent boots! So incredibly warm, light on your feet, comfortable and have great traction. I wore them out to play in the snow during the bomb vortex and my feet were toasty warm and dry. Best boots I've ever owned!

I ordered these and sized up as recommended. They are a beautiful boot and while I ultimately did not keep them they would be perfect for anyone who seriously has to walk in snow. They were soft and while a tad bulky they were still stylish and could easily make the transition from jeans to a wool skirt if needed.

I bought these perfect boots, then my house burned down, I searched through the rubble and found my boots damp & sooty, cleaned them up and they looked brand new. Needless to say I Love these boots!!

Love these boots. Very warm, comfortable, easy to get on and off, and I get compliments on them every time I wear them.

These are the best boots I ever owned perfect fit great for taking to Zion and Bryce Canyon walked in the water walked in the snow get my feet woman and -10 degrees also captain fine when it wasn't 35 degrees bragged about them through all whole trip. Get me started on my feet through snow and ice became a problem when I got clay in the treads.

LOVE these Baffin Madeleines! I was looking for winter boots that were both tall/knee length for tucking in leggings and jeans AND waterproof and these fit the bill. As much as I love my Uggs, my feet get wet after a couple hours of errands in wet/heavy snow. Ick. These are warm and toasty, weatherproof and cute! The calf is adjustable due to the lacing, which is nice. I actually bought the Baffin Icelands, too, and decided to keep them both! (Oops!). I will use the Icelands more for trudging around in the snow, like moving firewood in a snowstorm today. The Madeleines will be less of a work boot, more for looking good (and yet staying warm and dry at the same time!). I normally wear a 7, and the 7 fits me perfectly, but I hate wearing thick socks, so will only wear thin cotton or wool socks with these.

These are absolutely awesome snow boots! I love the overall look, especially the tall shaft and easy zipper entry. I wear a 9½-10 so I went with the 10 and can wear a bootliner, too. They are a good buy and I am very happy. I returned my Sorels for these, sleeker-looking snow boots that are comfortable.

My first impression was great, the boots fit well, very comfy, lightweight and nicely cushioned. But I live in Wisconsin and need them for winter. I had deep snow to shovel in some nasty cold, my fingers got cold but my feet stayed warm. I also live on an incline and the boots seems to grip well. Worked in some slush and no leaks! I also got a compliment, a friend said they are cute. I think so too, not bad for snow boots!

These are beautiful boots. I bought the chocolate ones and the brown suede matches my shearling coat. With tall boots, I always have problems with my muscular calves and my overall shortness. So I was a little hesitant. I have another pair of Baffin boots and I am pleased to report that I am thrilled with these boots too as they fit well and are not too short and not too tall. They are perfect. I like that I can adjust the width with the ties and then use the zipper for easy on and off. They are waterproof suede and are warm. I have the same problem with cutting into the Achilles that others have mentioned. As it is only with my right boot (weird) I just wear Band-Aids and thick socks until they break in. The fact that they fit my 15" calves (I am 5') and look great makes it easy to tolerate the Achilles problem for now. Good price, great quality.

Love these boots. Fit great with regular winter wool socks. The side zipper created the perfect amount of space to stuff your pants down in there smoothly. But if you want to not put your pants in there, the lace up on the front can be cinched up and snug. They are very warm. I walked in the snow in Tahoe for about 25 minutes and my feet stayed warm. Great tread! It's icy here this week and they really hold the ground! I used a Scotchgard kind of spray on them before and the suede is beautiful. They are cute too!

Love these boots. I get frequent compliments on them. I wanted warm, tall boots that I could wear over pants to run errands, wait at the bus stop, etc. These are perfect as my everyday winter boot. I haven't tried them in snow yet, but they did great in rain and cold temperatures. The shaft is wide enough that regular-cut jeans still fit inside, yet cute enough that yoga pants and slim-cut clothing look great with them too. Feet stay warm and dry. Highly recommend Runs true to size and holds my orthotic, which is always vital to my footwear choices.

These boots are awesome! They are comfortable, warm, and fit larger calves. They fit over jeans or leggings. I've warn mine all day, my legs do get warm, but when you live in Alaska that is a good thing!

These are wonderful boots! Love love love them. However, the zipper broke after only two months, so I contacted Zappos customer service and returned them. They have the BEST customer service!

I was looking for a comfortable stylish boot that would keep my feet warm and dry. This boot met my expectations! They were comfortable right out of box. I wore them to shovel 5 inches of snow in single digit weather and my feet stayed dry and toasty warm.

I love them! Just got them and still wearing them around the house. I've always been a true 6.5 w a pretty wide foot for a 5 ft., 145 lb gal. This size 7 is perfect! Not narrow and not longer than a normal size 6.5. I am definitely a wide (D) and these are more than fine. Can fit my dress work pants, (Dockers) over them & am sure my Levis will fit over them too. No problem tucking pants in. I have 1 leg in, the other out! The front stringing can be tightened to make more snug although not necessary for a nice, closed fit. Very warm and comfy. Being I am short then do come up to my knees but the tops on both front and back are flexible and not constricting. The bottoms soles are solid but flexible with defined, thick tread: will be great in ice and snow. The zippers are good to go and the inner lining around the zipper is a nice touch to keep out the elements when taking off. And did I mention they are great looking?! I love them! These are a keeper for sure!

Love these boots. They are warm and keep my feet dry in rain or snow. The fit is true to size with ample calf space for tucking in pants. Foot bed is super comfortable and the soles are no joke. Great traction. Also cute and stylish. I get lots of compliments. LOVE THEM!

After an extensive search, I found a great boot that fits my 16 1/2 inch calves, is weather resistant, and fits my picky taste! They are adorable and incredibly comfy. They are indeed waterproof and warm. I wore them in deep snow today and they were great. They do have two downsides. One is that they run about a half size too big. I wear an 8 and they're a little lose in the ankle. A 7 was too tight and my toes rubbed against the front. I kept the 8's and added an insert. Two is that they look pretty wide on your leg. They do fit a pretty large calf and wear well in harsh conditions, so I'd say its way worth it. They're priced very well for the quality!

I haven't yet put these boots to a winter test...that's coming (too) soon. Regarding fit, style and quality I rate them excellent. They have ample calf room for those who need that, or for tucking in Levi's. The width (toe room) is great as is the tread. We get lots of ice and snow so tread is important to me. I read the reviews so the bit of extra width was no surprise. These boots seem well built and I really like them. Winter test coming soon.

I was looking for a (somewhat) stylish pair of waterproof boots that could take on rain, snow and blistery cold for walking the dog, commuting to work, etc. These are exactly what I wanted! I wear them at least 4 days a week (sometimes more) and have gotten compliments on them as well. A few things to note: I wasn't expecting them to be as heavy but the tread and support are meant for serious business. By no means do I have slender calves (we'll call them athletic) and I rarely use the zipper to take them off and on, even though I cinched the strings a bit.
