We bought this Steens (Mens XL) for my wife, who generally needs a Woman's XXL jacket. (I could not find any CS women's XXL fleeces in February 2014, when we had to find a replacement for her old CS fleece that had been given to a homeless person.) She is happy with its fit and function for early-morning and late evening train commutes (Oakland to Santa Clara, CA via Capitol Corridor) here in the SF Bay Area, where temps can vary quite a bit between 6 AM and 7 PM. I might buy one for myself, but I have too many (4-5) already A Steens (Men's MED) vest is a real possibility, though

I was a little worried about purchasing this jacket, but I am glad I did! It is so warm, and really soft! It runs a little big, but I think that is how they are supposed to go. But over all, I think if you are looking at buying one you should!! You will not be disappointed! It keeps the cold out good!

My only complaint for this product is the length of it. It is way too long. I purchased almost the same jacket about 15 years ago, and it was a much shorter jacket. I could not find this jacket or a similar one under Columbia Women's clothing. I was able to find it under the Men's clothing line. The men's jacket was exactly what I was looking for. I only wish it was about 4 or 5 inches shorter. I guess I will take it somewhere and have it hemmed. It would be great if you could make this jacket for women and make it about 5 inches shorter.

Happy with the fleece, very soft and comfortable. However, size was an issue. A fleece from Columbia that I have, which is only 2 years old, fits perfectly as a medium. The new fleece that I purchased has the right sizing at the wrists, but has much more material in the body and waist. As such it fits much looser, and is longer, than my previous fleece that I love. Advise getting a slightly smaller size.

This jacket is very soft and comfortable, and is surprisingly warm for its weight. However, it is a bit shapeless - perhaps because of the thinness of the material. Also, the seams are somewhat weak, and one frayed slightly when I made a wrong move that stretched the jacket. I got it mainly to wear around the house, and it does a great job for that, though it's also fine as a midlayer, under a jacket.

I purchased one of these because I needed a fleece jacket for the chilly mornings, afternoons, and evenings of early November in Maine. Its very soft, comfortable, warm, and an attractive color. I'm a big guy, so I ordered the 2XL for layering room and freedom of movement. The only complaint I have is that the sleeves are tapered, especially the closer you get to the wrist, which makes things around the wrists and forearms a little tight, but not to the point where its uncomfortable. Its a great jacket and comes highly recommended by me.

This is a very nice Columbia product, but it was not quite what I expected from a fleece jacket. The material is much thinner than other fleeces that I've owned in the past. I was pretty surprised--and not in a good way--when I opened the package.

The coat is great. It's very comfortable and the fit is perfect. I like the way the cuffs feel around my wrist. Loose but sturdy, which is great when putting gloves on. It's warm and yet light weight. I wear it all day everyday. The only thing that I would say I dislike about it, is the zipper. It's a smaller zipper and feels a bit weak. I'm worried that after a few months of wearing it, the zipper will stop working. I would have liked to see a stronger, more durable zipper. It hasn't failed me yet. Overall, it's a great coat and if I had to find one for my wife, I would go with the same style.

one thing I didnt like was the zipper strings, the zippers have a loop of string to pull your zipper, i understand this is just for looks but the string keeps falling off, they just looped it in they didnt secure it. the sweater on me ran a little large but i think i am just too small. I ordered the deep mountain one i think and i dont like the color much, but thats my own fault next time ill get black, overall the sweater is very warm and soft, super comfortable, just the right number of pockets, and looks great! i would recomend to anyone over 5'7"

Nice and soft. Washes well and keeps it shape.

If it wears & washes as good as it looks, I'll buy more.

The fleece fits well and is warm and sturdy.

Great for that late night walk on the beach, or the overnight fishing trip in the canyon.

This is a nice jacket for the price. It runs a bit small especially across the chest and the sleeves are narrow. The sleeve length and body length were fine. The black was kind of gray-black, not really true black, and the fabric has a bit of a sheen which is kind of weird for a man.

The zipper in one of the two fleece jackets was defective and I can't zip it up. Unfortunately, by the time I found out I had washed the item and discarded the shipping paperwork. I still like your products and will buy again in the future.

I got the small size. It's perfect to fit in me.This is a light jacket for Spring. Generally, I don't complain anything.

Really like my new fleece. Warm, soft, and light. If you are going to be active, play golf , or work in it, consider a size up.

PROS: -very lightweight -very soft/comfortable -perfect fit to size -good color (black looks great) -good when you need a light jacket to jog in, that you need to be able to function in. CONS: -not as warm as I thought it would be. This would be ideal for those 40-50 degree days w/o much wind because the wind goes right through the jacket. OVERALL: Recommended, just know what it is good for as noted above. Due to no inner lining, wind goes right through this jacket. Great for use as a top layer. Jacket is VERY comfortable, just don't plan on it being great in wind/rain!

This was a great fit for my husband, and it's difficult to find fleeces that are made for a man who is not overweight (so many are loose in the belly). He's 5'6" and the small fit well. This would work outdoors in the late spring/early fall around here. It's a nice indoor layer piece in the winter.

My husband loves the comfort and style of this product.

I bought it for my 13 yr old. Young people don't like to wear coats for some reason. This is perfect. They put on this jacket and a hoodie and it's all good! He is 6'1 and 210 lbs. I ordered the XL and it fits great.

I ordered this jacket in grey, for a woman, so I was concerned about the sizing, but it fit perfectly after one wash. I guess since it shrunk so much, be careful with drying it, but in terms of the comfort and quality of the jacket, it felt just as soft and warm after negligent washing, so that's good.

Bought this hoping it would be as good as a similar Steens Mountain Fleece I bought earlier in December which I've really liked and relied upon all winter. Unfortunately, the new one isn't the same or as good. No chest pocket, made in a different location, and the front zipper gets stuck on fabric every time it's unzipped. Very, very annoying.

Not as good as I expected. Size, color, and quality all miss the mark.
