I purchased this bag for my fiancé, and bought again for my brother and dad. It's great size for traveling and even fits under an airplane seat. The shoe compartment keeps shoes away from your clothes, which is great. I like that the look is a great mix of casual but polished, so it can flex between leisure and business trips if needed. The only issue I've noticed on my fiancé's is that the strap clasps started squeaking. Otherwise, it's been great and he's had it since July.

This is very similar to the ravine bag also by Herschel, but has a shoe pocket too. It's such a nice feature so that you can keep your clothes from getting dirty and also easily access your shoes. I wish it had more internal pockets, but it works well and is comfortable to carry and seems like it will last a long time with proper care. The material is thick, but I am a bit concerned about how the zipper will hold up over time. Overall great, and reasonable bag.

I bought this bag for my husbands birthday. Overall, it is very nice. Its bigger than a normal duffel bag and the shoe pocket is a nice touch. However, I will say the "leather" accents and handles look a little cheap. He loves the bag.

I'm already a fan of Herschel Supply Co. and this bag is more than just a weekender! I was able to fit over a week's worth of clothes and three pairs of shoes in it for our recent trip to Portland! Unfortunately, one of the brown leath straps ripped off the bag (seams came off but did not tear the bag material) after its first use. I contacted Zappos right away about it and they had a new bag for an exchange at my door within 2 days while we were gone! I love Zappos products and service and I'm definitely willing to give this bag another chance and hope it lasts as long as my other Herschel Supply bag. I recommend this bag and can't wait to use my own again soon! The shoulder strap makes it easy to carry if it's full and the handles are nice if its not so heavy. I love the color and the size, the shoe compartment is so convenient. It is also the size of a carry on bag for the airport. 5 stars for Zappos service and 4 stars overall just because the handle broke during my first use which hopefully was just a fluke!

Nice bag. Definitely great quality. Only exception is the plastic pieces on the handles and straps. I have had multiple people comment on the style of it.

This bag look great “on paper”. The design and size were exactly what I was looking for. HOWEVER the length of the zipper is too short and the opening of the top is very narrow which makes putting in/taking out simple things like a pile of t-shirts a harder task than it is supposed to be. I own other weekender bags and do not have the same issue with them.

Straps are squeaky but still functional and cute

I loved this bag and especially loved the separate shoe compartment. Unfortunately, after 3 uses, the metal part of the shoulder strap clip broke off :( its fine to use for light packing and using the regular handles, but I really miss being able to use the shoulder strap...

First off, I need to disclose that I am a fan of Herschel product for a while now. I think they've consistently had a great style and overall good looking products. However, as I've experienced with some of their other products, they continue to use very low quality zippers, and the one on this duffle is no exception (to the point that I will most likely return it due to issues already). The construction otherwise is at least average, and I really like the additional shoe compartment. But like I said, the zipper is probably going to be a deal breaker with me.

The bag looks very good, but I think it lacks in quality. The bag is relatively big, and works well as a carry-on, but you can get bags of similar size and higher quality at a lower cost. What actually pushed me to return it seems minor, but was incredibly annoying - the plastic clip where the strap meets the bag was incredibly squeaky. I could hear it even when listening to headphones. I figure for an $80+ bag, that should be resolved. I bought a Dakine 50L bag instead and haven't looked back.

Looks great. Strap buckles are cheap, they squeak and one of mine broke the first time using it. Zappos replaced it for free! I'd also like it if the top zipper was larger or more sturdy. Overall my impression is a great looking bag that is cheaply put together.

This bag is very, very expensive for what you get. When I received it, it had a strong chemical/plastic smell-not ideal for something intended to store clothing in. I had to return it because it was pretty overwhelming even with my bad sense of smell. Overall, the bag is really nothing special for the price. There are no interior pockets and the zipper is low quality and hard to use. Really disappointing because I loved the color (I ordered it in Winetasting Crosshatch). The hidden shoe pocket on the outside is really the only other feature I liked.

Great look, but before even using the bag, the zipper is already coming unattached. If I pull on the zip it may just rip off of the bag. This is a surprising lack of quality control at a well known brand. It makes a squeaky noise as I'm walking.

This bag arrived today and looks nothing like the picture. The bag is a medium blue with navy straps and orange details. I should have realized by the color description, but the picture shows a nice chambray color more suitable for a female (I ordered as a gift) so I was hopeful. This looks like a guy's bag. Very stiff canvas. Sadly, it's going back.

I bought this duffel solely on looks and material quality. From the reviews and the picture it looks like a great piece of luggage, but I was unimpressed on arrival. Spending eighty bucks for a canvas bag with leather handles was on the high end of what I was willing to spend for what I was receiving. The biggest disappointment for me was the handle material. In my opinion, the leather was a cheap bonded leather that looks great, but is inferior quality making it difficult to justify the purchase. The long and the short is I returned the product where the Zappos service was, as usual, second to none.

The bag is absolute crap - Herschel positions themselves as purveyors of fine bags based out of Vancouver but that is all marketing jargon. The bags are far from superb, they are mass produced junk( maybe because they manufacture all of their bags in China - per Herschel's own website http://www.herschelsupply.com/contact/). I had my bag for less than two weeks before the strap broke, the strap on a pricey bag should never break from normal wear and tear. Step up your game Herschel.

The bag, while beautiful, is overpriced and cheaply made. The strap is attached by plastic clips that squeak unbearably. They also snapped in half within two months of purchase. Will be returning.

I didn't realize there was a white zipper on top of this bag, which kind of ruins the look. So, I'm returning it!
