This backpack is definitely a worthwhile buy. I'll be using it for sometime because it's sturdy and has a classic design. I was a little disappointed because the color in the photo isn't very accurate (I ordered the navy). The backpack is definitely a classic navy and not the brighter blue color shown. My only other criticism is that there is only one zipper on the big flap so that you can only zip it up in one direction. Other than that, I'm very happy with the design, the cushion on the straps, and the cute pattern inside. It's a good bag.

Great bag for school! Zippers are heavy duty but a bit noisy, straps are cushy and the pop of color is really nice. Would have liked a few separate pockets in the front pouch for better organization. Shipping was fast as always. Great buy!

I needed a durable backpack for school. Something that could tolerate heavy loads + heavy use. Pricey, but in this bag I've found exactly what I'm looking for. It is extremely well made and the zipper is quite durable. There is even a little port on the top for me to snake my headphones through, and a little pouch inside the bag to put my phone/iPod/whatever. I'm really happy.

Stylish and well made! My 8th grader has a ton of homework and it holds it all!

This is the coolest looking bag out there. It is also seems very well built. The only bad thing is space. I can fit a MacBook, jean jacket, and Monster headphones, but that is all. It is also all I need. Otherwise, it is perfect!

Love! Well made, super cute & the padded straps make carrying the bag very comfortable. I'm a sucker for polka dots & olive...and the gold zippers accents on the bag bring a bit of class even when you're wearing your gym clothes.

As a college student I absolutely love this bag! It's extremely roomy and has a safe laptop compartment to slip my 15in Macbook Pro in. I bought it in red but I love this bag so much I might get it in a low-key color. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone with a laptop computer and is style-conscious.

This bag stylish, comfortable, durable, and affordable. I would prefer this backpack over any jansport or nixon bags that I have owned.

My new bag for school arrived today and it is a perfect size for my books and extras. I love the lime punch on the back panel and straps, it adds a fun pop of color without being overwhelming. The zippers are sturdy and didn't have and issues with them sticking. Overall I'm very pleased with my bag and look forward to carrying it. Thanks Zappos for the fast shipping!

I really wanted a bag for school that would fit all my books but wasn't extremely huge and this was everything I was looking for. It's pretty spacious and it's pretty good looking too.

I'm a college student and this bag is working really well for me. Slightly irritating that there's only one zipper going one way (instead of having two zippers that meet in the middle), but overall a solid bag. Note: I have a 13" laptop and it fits in the bag but my friend's 15" laptop doesn't fit. Just something to keep in mind if you have a larger laptop.

I got this backpack for my senior year of college. It's stylish and has quite a bit of room for books and notebooks without looking too bulky. I like that there is a pocket on the inside for a laptop. I have received quite a few compliments on this backpack, too.

Perfect basic backpack with style. Nice alternative from my Swiss army which had a million pockets and was really big and heavy. Zippers are slightly stiff but I wouldn't complain. Fits my 15" laptop. Is comfortable, not quite the pinkish/red it looks in pic, really just red.

I got the red on red version of this backpack and I love it. It's exactly what I wanted. Yes, the zipper is a little finicky, but I don't find it to be much of a problem.

The backpack is awesome. It's really comfy. The color is great. I'm extremely content. The little brown leather piece hanging on the smaller pocket zipper did come off, but I didn't mind.

My friend in school has a Herschel and from the moment I saw it, I wanted one. It is a cool and comfortable bag. I would like to point out that the zippers are not a pain; you just need to know not to open them roughly. Get a Herschel!!!!!

Love this bag! I was debating between ordering the Roxy long time backpack and this. They are obviously two different bags. I ended up choosing this and do not regret a thing! It is very unique and unlike the others at school. It is durable and I hope will last throughout later years. I ordered the color red. The zippers definitely pop in color, which makes it so much more stylish. I had read other reviews before ordering this and they said the zippers are a challenge. Mine, on the other had, has no problem with the zippers. The and zip and unzip very smoothly and without any problem at all. Without a doubt, this is by far the best bag I have ever ordered! Thanks!

I'm rebuying this. Bought my first Settlement bag 4 years ago and didn't notice any fraying seams until recently (which is saying something, since I use this nearly daily). This settlement bag is larger than my last one and will allow me to cram more stuff into it (not just a laptop, change of clothes, and lunch, but now also a pair of shoes or a fanny pack). I like the "Settlement" bags over the "Classic" Herschel backpacks since the zippers are easier to access (they are not tucked behind a fabric lip). Would love to see more color options but I was about to find something that worked for me this go-round. Went with the "Rubber" color, which is half-way between a mustard yellow and a brown. It's different yet still professional enough to take to work.

Great backpack but the zipper only goes one way! Needs a two way zipper for perfection please!

This is a fantastic bag, with a few drawbacks. Pros: It’s just the right size my daily use as a teacher (I regularly carry a small laptop, a 1” binder, a few books, a water bottle, and writing utensils). Classic, simple styling means I know I won’t be sick of it mid-year, especially in a neutral color like the light gray. The padded shoulder straps are nice. The front pocket holds a surprising amount - I use this for my phone/wallet/keys, which removes the need to also carry a purse. Cons: No side pocket for water bottle. Single zipper pull, which also sticks a bit. I have to zip slowly for it to open smoothly, and I’d much prefer two zipper pulls that could meet in the middle. For me, the pros outweighed the cons. I kept this and have used it happily so far this school year. I suspect based on the quality it will hold up over time.

This is a beautiful backpack. I purchased it for my middle schooler. One big issue though - no water bottle holder. For school, the outside pocket to hold a water bottle makes a big difference. That's the only flaw.

I ordered the dark camo one for commuting to work (walking). The style is on point - it's not too bright and it's kind of a more subtle dark gray camo which is exactly what I wanted - not too loud else I'd get sick of looking at it every day! It fits my very large macbook pro (15 inch) and a pair of shoes etc. if I'm working out after work. I knocked off a star for the zipper that doesn't move as smoothly as it could and I worry about it breaking though. However, the gold detail does make it super cute :)

I've only been using this a few days but it is a pretty solid backpack. It can carry my 13" laptop, a binder, a 5 subject notebook, planner, water bottle, and my glasses case, so it really can fit quite a lot without looking like a turtle shell on your back. My only complaint would be that there's only one zipper for the large opening and it is a little stiff, not a huge thing. Overall a good backpack, we'll see how long it lasts.

Love the color and style of this backpack! After a couple of months the zipper on the outside fell apart and I wasn’t able to use it anymore.
