Great bag for a long day of field work, but still feels stylish.

This is a pretty basic backpack but it's high quality and has a classic profile so it's exactly what I wanted.

My daughter picked out this backpack and she loves it! She is in high school and it carries everything that she needs. This bag is simple and not fussy! It does not have many compartments and pockets, but this is exactly what she wanted as her last backpack was overfilled with things in each compartment! Less bulky = less weight and stress on her!

We have been searching for the perfect backpack for my 8th grade daughter - they carry a ton of books and the packs can get so heavy! She has broken 2 Jansport packs so we were ready to try something new. This backpack is PERFECTION. We love everything about it. Just today my daughter said how she loves the inside pockets and everything fits so well. Nice job, Herschel - we are fans for life!

I PURCHASED TWO AS A GIFT. THEY LIKED THE BACK PACK ,HOWEVER ONE WAS ASKING IFit had two side pockets like to put a water bottle.

I bought this to replace my work tote because I carry a Lenovo laptop (not skinny) daily. I'm a school principal, but I wanted something that didn't look like it belonged to the children. This bag is perfect! It looks great, and isn't out of place, even in professional meetings. The size is adequate without being bulky. The zippers are a little "sharp" if you let your arm graze it as you reach in. They won't draw blood, but you'll notice they're not plastic. I would still buy this bag again and again!

Herschel Settlement backpack is made of durable, soft to the touch material. I originally purchased the bag to use as a diaper bag, as my toddler is getting more active. The bag is spacious and can hold as much as my old diaper bag could. The straps are comfortable and relieves the weight off my shoulders. The zippers work smoothly. The backpack is quite long on my short 5'2" frame, taking up my entire back, which does make me look like a child with a backpack going to school, but it's not a big deal. Looking forward to roughing through parks, playdates and travel adventures with my toddler and this backpack in tow.

Great bag. Perfect size. And the liner adds a nice touch. Very happy with this purchase.

this is truly my all time favorite backpack!!!!!!! i had one when i first started college but i somehow i managed to lose it and i've been on the hunt of a cheaper alternative ever since but i've yet to find one. i know $60 bucks for a backpack is a bit expensive especially when you're in college but i'm telling you its worth the money. i ordered mine on Monday at 11am and i got it the next dat at 5 pm. i would suggest ordering it from Zappos because they make returns so easy.

I purchased the black with gold hardware and I am in love with my backpack. The black is pure black and made of a sturdy fabric. The gold hardware is a nice chunky style zipper. And the interior is a red and white stripe with a laptop sleeve. Originally I purchased the "mid-volume" but it was too small for me. So, I up sized to the regular sized Settlement. The size is much better and works for me. I always have a couple slim notebooks, 1 binder, thick pencil case, planner, iPad, and wallet in the main pocket. It fits everything easily, but I couldn't imagine putting multiple textbooks or binders in there.

This bag (I got the red, blue, and camo one) is AMAZING. First off, it is really cute and stylish and is simple and not clunky. Second of all, despite the look, it can hold A LOT. I had a Kipling before this so I am used to having a lot of space. I managed to fit a 3-inch binder, 1.5-inch binder, Computer, and an AP Book, as well as a pencil case, and there was still more room. Thirdly, the straps are great and while the bag was heavy it felt like nothing on my back which is great when I am walking around school with it. The zippers are a bit stiff but I am sure that will change once I break it in a bit more. The front pocket does not hold that much but it can fit a normal sized pencil case.

I love this backpack! I had borrowed my daughter's on a trip, came home and bought one for myself. The gold zipper makes it feel dressy and special. As always, delivery from Zappos was on time.

Fits MacBook laptop comfortably with room to spare; bought this for my husband for his daily commute, seems sturdy, nice details, and all around a good purchase.

Love this backpack! It is the perfect size, durable, and fashionable. Meets all my needs! Although it is pricey, Zappos is the only company that carries this backpack AND provides free shipping. 5 stars in my book!

I have been using the same Herschel backpack for three years now, and it only recently tore a little at the bottom (but I think it is because I drag it on the ground occasionally). It is undoubtedly my most favorite backpack that I have ever bought. Sadly, they stopped making the specific line that I bought because I assume people liked the other designs more, but that was fine with me because I never had any trouble spotting my backpack in a crowd. It is comfortable, capacious, and durable.

I love this backpack! I walk to work every day and I was looking for something functional and stylish, and this fits the bill. I have a small frame (5'2", 105lbs) and this bag fits great. I have plenty of room for gym clothes, lunch, and room to spare. The zipper isn't the most smooth, but still functional.

I bought this for a family trip to Disney and it really worked great while looking stylish, too. As other reviewers mentioned, the zipper stuck a bit at first but loosened with use. The only feature I found myself missing was an outside water bottle pocket. The color is darker than pictured but a really nice neutral nevertheless, especially with the gold zipper offset and the red and white striped lining. I'll get a lot of use out of this one!

I bought this backpack because I thought it was really cute. The best part is that it has been durable and it came on time! Better than any other backpack I have had. I use it for school or when I go to the beach or something.

Stylish yet functional. Fits what I need. Went through a few backpacks before this one, others were bulky and awkward. This one is great, fairly lightweight, very well made & rugged, multiple pockets, headphone pocket is an added bonus. Definitely recommend.
