The product description says: "These shoes were proudly assembled in our U.S. factories by our more than 1,200 U.S. workers. Since the domestic value is less than 70%, we have labeled them "Assembled in the USA."" The tongue label says "Made in Vietnam". I have only worn New Balance sneakers that were made or assembled in the U.S. for the past 35 years. The #1 reason I bought these (as I have bought 577 for years) is for this reason. They were put back in the box and will be returned immediately.

The most uncomfortable pair of tennis shoes I've ever put on my feet. The tongue that is attached to the top of the shoe Diggs in the top of your foot

I had been checking the site regularly for the laces version. It appears they no longer carry them so I tried these. Very disappointed as the velcro strap did not have enough length. They were returned. I would like to know if they ever plan to carry the 577 with laces again. They (or whatever model number they had been before) had been a staple for years.

You responded to my review as if I said " too wide". It was too narrow. The straps were much too short!

Shoes about half size too short, resulting in very tight heels and almost impossible to get off feet. . Upper hook and loop straps far too short to fasten over my feet (which have very high arches) and didn't extend to end of strap, which would have helped a little. Lower strap was fine.

I have worn this model shoe in this width before so I ordered them again. The shoe was too small both in length and width.

These shoes are a bad fit. Not like my old NB shoes of the same size (12W)

My husband is a big man, including his feet. He normally orders 4E, extra wide in tie sneakers and is very satisfied with the NB fit. The velcro closure at the bottom of this style barely reached the grabbing side. The top tab was a good 2 inches from touching the grabbing area. These shoes would only close if someone's foot had been flattened by a steamroller into a wide flat foot, and maybe not even then. Very disappointing!

The Velcro was not long enough. The strap was long enough but I had to buy more Velcro and glue a strip next to the other for the strip to work. Way too short. Was not enough of the part that is rough and the soft part sticks too. PLUS the tongue hurt my feet at the part near the toes inside the shoes. It is stitched into the shoe for about a half an inch. On each side of the stich is about a third of an inch of leftover tongue. I actually had to get scissors and cut off the excess tongue on both sides of the sewn part. I am a big guy so this is the 1st time I bought a Velcro New Balance and it will be the last. I am strictly a New Balance person. Been wearing them for over 40 years. Figure since I am 59 big and disabled the Velcro would be nice. I WAS WRONG.

Not sure what the shoe (not the sole) was made of but looked and felt like plastic. Believe it would have felt very hot when wearing. Returned without even trying on.

No balance anymore between price and quality! The more I spend on high priced running shoes, the faster they deteriorate because of cheap inferior materials. This kind of failure to provide durable service is DESIGNED IN by New Balance. It's long past time to find a new brand.

VELCRO LACES ARE TOO SHORT; UINBELIEVABLE! If you have wide feet and thats why you order 4E; the laces are too short

Shoes didn't feel as good for walking as the running shoes I now have. Nothing wrong with them, just not the "right stuff."

After trying on the left shoe I knew there was no need to try on the right shoe or either shoe of the second pair I had purchased. The tongue f the shoe was not secured (properly stitched) in place. There were only a few stitches holding the tongue rather than stitches across the entire base of the tongue to hold it in place securely. Looking at the other shoes I could see they were stitched the same way. When I spoke with customer service, I was informed that this was the way it's done - at least for this shoe (#577).

I bought this shoe for the hook and loop feature, because of my arthritic hands, although the size was right the closure will never hold. I had to return the shoes.

I use these shoes for walking and casual wear. They are the same type and size as a previous pair that I liked. But they looked small when I took them out of the box, but seemed OK, although a bit tight, at first. When I wore them to walk, however, my feet hurt terribly. I have flat feet, so I tried to correct the problem with Dr. Scholl's inserts, but that only moved the pain to my toes, which the insert forced forward. I have tried to "get used to" them in casual wear, but without success. I thought I was ordering a duplicate of my previous pair, and the shoes are marked as the correct size (9N), but they're definitely smaller than the previous pair, so I don't know how to order a replacement. At this point, a total waste of money.
