My 90 year old husband has worn new balance shoes for over 10 years. we replaced a pair that is over one year old. on this pair, the velcro is too short to go across and is also very thin.

It took a long time for the 577 model to get back in stock! Also the tongue on the left shoe was sewn in crooked.

I like that the hook and loop fastening is not using elastic so the shoes can be fastened snugly to the foot. Nice shoes. They have improved the 570 series last in the last few years IMHO. I mostly use for cycling to avoid laces being caught but also wear for daily use when felling lazy. 813 hook and loops not good for walking as too loose.

The fit was perfect & they are very comfortable. They are squeaking & groaning though while the shoes get used to my weird feet. I do wish New Balance would have a bit more aggressive tread for these sneakers.

The fit and the size were accurate. Great shoes! Style makes for a wee bit larger shoe overall which I didn't expect but they work just fine. Love that they are light in weight.

I have had problems with my feet swelling. This style works well because it is easy to put the shoes on (don't need to fuss with laces) and feels secure.

The fit is what it should be. It looks like a nice sneaker for work. My foot feels secure in the shoe with a stable stance. They are not " styling " but velcro kind of automatically rules that out. They are for work in a warehouse. I've worn them once and my feet were comfortable all day. They are good shoes worth getting. The only thing that should be changed in this shoe is to make the straps longer by about and inch. When fastened correctly the rough side of the vecro is left exposed. This is not a deal breaker but if this would bother you a different style of shoe should be selected.

Am returning shoes because the loop tab of the hook-and-loop closure is entirely too short, making it impossible to wear with any kind of insert.

When the shoes arrived I tried them on and was disappointed that the hoop & loop flap did not go all the way across my foot. I have other brands of shoes that have the same type of closure and they go all the way across my instep to the other side of my foot. I believe the flap on your shoe should be 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer to allow for men who have a higher than normal instep. For the reason stated I returned the shoes to New Balance. Your return process was exceptional.

As mentioned by others, the straps are too short and leave exposed Velcro that can snag on clothing. I can imagine the exposed Velcro would pick up lint and dirt. I’m returning these.

The holy and loop straps should be a little longer. They barely reach on the wide shoe. The insole in one shoe came loose about the 10 time the shoe was used. The shoe is comfortable and supports my ankle nicely. It was recommended by the surgeon who performed my ankle fusion.

L did not use them ,they are well made and look good but they fit more like a 61/2 C not a 7 D. If you have a high arch the hook and loop is to small they make them even tighter when they hooked At for looks and build F on fit and comfort that is why I returned them

I returned these. Where the tongue was attached the seam was rough and large, rubbing on the large toe joint. It also seemed narrow in that area, and promised to aggravate my foot issues. I have to say New Balance shoes look and feel cheaply made anymore. I have better looking and fitting shoes purchased for 25 dollars at my local big box store. While the SL-2 last attracts me to New Balance, the relatively high cost for low quality puts me off. New Balance shoes don't last more than 9 months before they feel worn out and unsupportive. Hope New Balance gets the message.

The hook and loop straps are too short they need to be about 1 /2 to 1 inch longer . This will be my last pair of New Balance I will buy.

The strap on top was to short to meet the velcro on the shoe....or you need longer velcro. Had to return them.

I need, and thus I ordered 10.5 EEEE. They sent me 10.5 wide (E?). This was the third pair in a row I ordered from New Balance, 2 from Amazon and this one from Zappos. All were the same, wide instead of extra wide. Apparently New Balance doesn't really have EEEE even though they advertise it. So they are simply sending E and hoping the aren't returned or something.

TOngue on the one shoe was defectively stitched pushing the base of the tongue into the foot. They had to be returned. Thus type of manufacturing defect should have been caught in quality checking.

SPLITS ON SIDE NEAREST BIG TOE. I've had two pairs that split in the same exact location. I'm sure you know about this problem - I took photos of the split. There is no problem with the width at that location. The toes have enough room it's just that the shoes are made CHEAPLY. Maybe glued instead of stitched?

The straps are much too short. A 4E width shoe should have long straps, but the straps were so short that the loop part of the strap could not reach the hook part, so it would never close. I could not walk in them.

This particular style has been our go-to shoe for my husband ever since his stroke, nearly ten years ago now. The hook and loop closure system he can manage independently - a huge plus. This shoe also is in a conventional man's dress style while still having the support and protection needed for diabetic feet.

These are my husband’s favorite shoes - he has them in both black and white. They fit great, offer good support and are easy to get on and off.

I bought these for my 95-year old Dad who has some swelling in his legs and feet, especially during the summer. I tried Wide the first time and could not get the velcro to reach and hold the shoes on, so I returned them and ordered "Extra-Wide". Well, I was barely able to get these to work on his feet! I expected them to be a bit wider, or the velcro to be a bit longer. I am hoping that they will stretch a bit over time. There is nothing wider that I can order. My Dad had these shoes before and loved them, so he was very adamite that I order the exact same ones!
