I'd originally purchased the 576 model of these shoes in 2009, and this year bought the 577 as the 576 was finally showing some wear. Tough and long-lasting. I will say that the 577 model does seem to have slightly shorter velcro straps than the 576, I was surprised at first but once the shoe loosened up a bit, this wasn't a problem for me. In the past, I've had issues with my feet swelling due to medications, foot injuries, ingrown toe nails from too-tight shoes and other foot issues. A podiatrist recommended that I might loosen my shoes or even remove them when sitting in order to relieve some of the pressure or else not tie them so tightly... Ok, have you ever tried re-adjusting the tightness of your laces constantly? Or how does it look to slip your shoes off in a workplace and then you have to hurriedly put them on and tie them before you can walk somewhere else?? These are PERFECT, I can adjust the fit just perfectly in an instant without removing them completely. If one foot is giving me a problem I can even wear one shoe much looser than the other, thanks to the velcro straps. When sitting, I can loosen them up almost completely and let my feet have the room to relax and yet cinch them back up almost in an instant in case I have to walk off somewhere. Much nicer than sitting at your desk "shoeless", in my opinion. So these were just perfect. And New Balance construction is awesome, and also one of the better shoes that is still MADE IN AMERICA. Hooray! So for me, these shoes were winners, any way you look at it. I would recommend that you order up a half-size as that is how New Balance tend to fit. I did get my correct shoe size at a local New Balance store, but they did not have these hook-and-loop closure kind of shoe. Once again, thank goodness for LL Bean!

My wife ordered a pair for me in a size 11 EEEE. A perfect fit and a really great pair of shoes to walk in. Very comfortable to the feel and for being on your feet all day. Finding EEEE shoes is not an easy task any more. I will be back to shop at LL Bean.

This is the fourth pair of these walking shoes. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for complete comfort and durability.

I am a diabetic with normally wide 10 3E feet. Diabetics must worry about blood circulation in their feet, and the danger is a cut or abrasion from say a blister that could take forever to heal. The wide 4EEEE width is ideal, and the added Velcrow is perfect because if you tie laces loosely they always come undone, but a velcrow closure can be whatever you make and it always stays that tight or loose, without coming undone. These New Balance Sneakers look great, fit flawlessly and are the safest for people like myself. Use 100% wool socks and not cotton because cotton causes abrasion, wool never does.

I bought these for my husband. He absolutely loves the ease of putting these on because of the velcro straps! No laces to tie! Plus they always look neat!

I wear them every day. They wear well and fit well. I have a large instep, and usually I have trouble finding a good fit. These fit great.

This is the only walking shoe I have bought for the last 5 years. It's comfortable, stylish, easy to put on and get off. I love the velcro. Other walking shoes by internationally-known companies, hereby left anonymous, use some kind of glue to which my feet are allergic. Not a pretty sight. But not these shoes. They're great. Try them.... you'll like it.

Purchase was for New Balance walking sneaker with hook & Loop fasteners. I have purchased this style since discovering them many years ago. All of my purchases have been from LLBean except the very first pair. The sneaker gives me excellent comfort throughout it's long life, I have no complaints, and would advise everyone to try them.

I took a chance on ordering New Balance walking shoes online (instead of trying them on in the store). Turned out to be a good move. The shoes are very comfortable and nice and sturdy. Highly recommended.

This is the 3rd or 4th pair of these sneakers that my husband has had. He doesn't like any others. Great product!

Lightweight, comfortable and easy to use the velcro closures. I got black so they would still look good when they get older.

Was very pleased with fit, comfort and heel padding. I have terrible feet and needed the support. Makes it a lot easier for me to take walks.

These walking shoes are very comfortable and last for many years. The velcro straps make it easy to secure. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

I'm partial to New Balance and this pair has the velcro closing straps which will make it easier for me to put them on and take them off. I'm 74 and bending to tie is hard to do. These shoes are the most comfortable walking shoe anyone could ever ask for, I've had New Balance shoes for over 30 years. Great shoe, great value!
