I am a true size 11 and these fit true to size. I wear an 11 in the Quantum paddocks and the Telluride H2O. I got these to wear at the barn at the end of mud season and during wet weather. They are stirrup-friendly, supportive, and super comfortable. They felt stiff and unyielding at first but relaxed around the ankle within about 15 minutes, and across the instep after about a day (they did feel narrow at first, but that didn't last--I wore thinner-than-normal socks the first few wearings). I have a lot of hardware (two plates, 14 screws) in one ankle, and do *not* have skinny legs, so finding paddock boots that don't hurt can be difficult, especially with zips and without elastic. These, however, have some sort of amazing padding that provides a custom fit without being a tourniquet, yet I suspect they'd be equally accommodating for more slender ankles. They aren't necessarily the most attractive boots, but are very practical and comfy. Nice for riding, great for standing/walking/chores. Black is unobtrusive under (black) half chaps. Waterproof fairly high up due to tongue gusset. Probably too warm for dry spring and summer weather. For those having trouble with zippers staying up: a gentle squeeze on the slider with a pair of pliers should fix that (not that new boots should be problematic, but it's generally an easy fix). I like these quite a bit.

Love the Ariat Terrain boots -- I'm on my second and third pair. I wore out a pair of regular Terrains, so I purchased a new pair and also decided to try the zip version. Fits the same, same great comfy sole and nice styling, but the zipper on the right boot won't stay up. It slides down about an inch from the top, and creates a less stable fit than I like. I have to stop every few minutes to zip it back up.

I was surprised at the "clodhopperish" look of these shoes. I've always thought of Ariat as having sleek looks. This shoe managed to look several sizes too big while actually fitting quite well. The toe box is wide, and looks even wider. Back to my beloved Zappos they go.

Nice shoe. I normally wear a size 8, sometimes 8 1/2. I have these in 8 1/2, and they're a bit narrow. I can only wear thin socks with them. They're already pretty long so wouldn't want to order the next size up. The zippers tend to slide open when I bend my legs to squat or kneel, or when I walk long distances in them. 3 stars because of this issue.

Love these! I read all of the reviews and got them - love them - came back to get them in black and they are out. I always get a half size smaller in Ariats - they are consistent. Got a half size smaller in these and they are perfect. I hope that Ariat does not change the styling! Saw a 'new' model that has some sort of ankle fastening that appears way too bulky to put under chaps. These are perfect.

I like these boots They are comfortable for my foot with hiking socks because they are wide for my foot. I have difficulty with my feet and love to walk these are great for walking and they keep the dirt out when I am working with horses

I was looking for a boot that was easy and quick to put on. I bring my dogs to work and was looking for something to wear in the winter in light snow, ice, or mud. These are working great for what I need. They are comfortable and offer better arch support for walking than any of my other boots. I have so many boots and find they are usually only good for foot protection from the elements, not walking distances. My favorite pair up until now were Keen mid calf boots but it takes too long to get them laced up. I live in NH and when my dogs need to go out I need to get them in coats and their foot protection on along with my own so the easy slip on and zip is great. They keep my feet warm and dry. I wear them with jeans so they look great too if I want to leave them on after I come back inside.

I purchased these shoes because I wanted an everyday boot that I could where into the office and out on the trail. These shoes were perfect. The zipper is great for those who want a simple, easy, and quick way to fasten the shoe. I don't have any unzipping problems noted in the other reviews (perhaps this is because my feet are exceptionally narrow?) The first few days walking in these shoes left me with some minor blisters around the heels of my feet, but it really wasn't too bad. One thing I noticed is that the boots add about an inch or so in height, but that's fine with me. Also, the boots most certainly protect against water. I live in Central California where we've been experiencing a lot of rain lately. The boots have kept my feet dry and warm as I walk through puddles when out with my dog. I'd definitely recommend these boots for anyone looking for a reliable everyday boot/shoe that can stand up to water, snow, and extreme weather conditions. In some cases, you may sacrifice style for comfort, but the boots look great with cuffed straight leg jeans.

I love the style of Ariat boots. They fit well although I am not sure I would choose this boot if I had to walk all day. It fits well, but it isn't as well padded or cushy as some boots. Can't beat the zipper for easy on and off, I love the zip version of these boots!

These were a last minute decision before my trip to Dayton. I was very impressed with all the room in the toe box. They fit and I wore them in the cold snow and ice very comfortably. Worth the money! I wear a ladies 11 and the 11 fit perfectly.

By far the best and most comfortable work boot out there! Super comfy, easy on and off thanks to the zipper. They are lightweight, really durable. I bought my first pair about 4yrs ago (i use them almost everyday for chores around the farm) and bought a second pair recently. Great buy!

Super comfortable boot for mucking stalls, hiking, doing chores. I love the zipper, and the gusset tongue keeps debris and water out. I've submerged these in mud and they did great. Unfortunately my puppy pretty much destroyed them. I recommend them for a waterproof, all-day-working boot. True to size.

These are great. Normally I wear English Paddock boots to ride my horses. These are wonderful and really help me keep my feet stable, heels down, and they are cushy and bouncy while riding. I like them very much and bought an extra pair just for that reason.

First experience with Ariat in years! I had first ordered these in my normal (these days for shoes, not sandals) size 8B but they fit like a "real" size 8 (meaning not an athletic or fashion shoe in which I might often wear an 8; in open toed shoes, I can wear a 7.5B) which means generous all around but proportionately so. I ordered the 7.5 and in its inimitable fashion, Zappos quickly had that size on my doorstep. This fits well as a normal 7.5B on all the way around---my narrower heel feels reasonably snug (hard to find) and my wider toe box nicely accommodated. I have skinny ankles but these only have a little extra room for me which a full medium weight hiking sock will fit nicely. These are really great boots and pretty streamlined so trust I can wear a variety of garment styles with them. They are a bit higher in the sole than expected, which translates into good for the fall puddles and winter snowy roads for getting around with the dogs. Love the ease of the zipper. Hopefully these won't be problematic as some reviewers have mentioned. Will have pliers at the ready in that case! But am also sure Zappos will back any defect in that instance. Thanks so much for carrying this line of footwear. These rate my 2 thumbs up!

Perfect mud boot. I bought these boots to wear at the barn and they are perfect for both on and off the horse. Great support and comfortable enough to wear all day.

Great fit! Love that these are waterproof. I bought these new to take horse trekking in Iceland since they won't let you take used riding gear into the country. I needed new paddock shoes anyway, so got these. SO GLAD I did. They fit great, could double as hiking shoes and the black color works well with my half-chaps. We did some riding on the beach and I was glad my feet stayed dry. Perfect fit. I haven't had any trouble with the zipper. Stays up fine.

I love these shoes. I wear them every day for ranch work because I like to take my shoes off in the house. The zip helps. They fit like a hiking boot which makes them very comfortable. In fact, my old ones aren't worn out, I just wanted to buy a second pair in case they stop making them!

Dang. I love these shoes. After trying out about 8 other pairs of different brands and styles, these are the ones. They fit like a glove. I love the zipper because I'm lazy and don't want to sit there lacing up boots. I want to put them on and go.

This is my second pair of these boots. I wore out the first pair and started looking for this exact boot to replace them, I like them that much. They are a great winter boot, perfect for me to wear when walking dogs. I love that they zip, easy on and off. I rated them true to width because I normally wear a heavier sock in the winter, with a thin sock they might be a little wide.

The size is right on. They are extremely comfortable. I was concerned because I have plate, screws, pins in my ankle. I had no problems what-so-ever. They are warm, much better than my fleece lined house slippers. The tread is perfect. They provide adequate for traction in mud, muck, poop.

Comfortable right out of the box. I have a high instep and wide feet, but the medium width fit me perfectly. Unfortunately I found the ankle portion somewhat high and binding, so I'm reluctantly exchanging for another pair. I'll try Ariat's again with another style.

Bought these boots for a trip to Alaska. Wore them all day, every day and loved them. Stylish, comfortable and functional. The sizing is true - an 8-1/2 was my perfect fit. I ordered them just two days before my departure and Zappos got them to me within 36 hours. Extremely happy with the shoes and with Zappos.

Loved this shoe, but it runs a little big. I re-ordered it a half a size smaller. Fits wonderful. It was between this shoe and another Ariat shoe. You can't go wrong with this shoe!

Excellent boots! After years of struggling with lace up snow boots, I was determined to have zip-ups again. Landed on these beauties and couldn't be happier. First of all, fit perfectly with just enough room in the toe box for comfort without excess room. Instep is comfortably snug, so when bringing up the foot the boot stays with the foot and does not dangle off the foot. A great plus when in snow. Warm! Dry! After several snow shovelings I couldn't be happier!
