I'm amazed at how warm this jacket is. I was surprised and confused when I opened the box on the lack of bulk. Walking around in a winter wonderland is no problem in this jacket, I stayed warm without layers underneath.

This coat is everything I wanted it to be. It is very light weight yet also very warm and cozy. I love it. I did order a size larger than I would ordinarily order, because I had been told that it ran small. I usually wear a size M or L in a coat, but I ordered an EXL and I'm happy that I did. Fits great and looks good, too.

I live in Chicago, IL and well so far the weather has been OK- I would like to say the Jacket is pretty good, I love the way it fits and keeps me warm. I was a little skeptical at first, but now that the temperature has dropped a little more I have been able to put it through the real test. I love how I can still wear a sweater underneath if I have to and not feel tight. It is true to size, I bought a Medium, and it fits great, I love the length of the jacket!!! and the total plus is the fact that it is so light!! I love it!!!!!

This is easily the lightest and warmest winter jacket I've ever had. It is true to size. I am a petite person and I ordered small. It fits perfectly. I LOVE it.

Excellent fit and quality! I am 5'9". I have little wider shoulders and long arms, therefore it has been very difficult to find a winter coat. Usually when the body is fit, the shoulder is too narrow. Or when the shoulder is fit, the body is too big. I am glad that this jacket has solved the problem!

Bought this jacket first in size L in gravel. Ran small, plus gravel means army green. Returned it and got XL in quill and fits great with wiggle room. I am 5' 9" and 165 lb.

This is the coat everyone should have. It is the one you can wear in the car and still be comfortable. It is very stylish, but most of all, so lightweight and keeps you so warm. It is longer in length to cover. I love it.

After doing much research on this jacket I had read reviews, comments etc. Anticipating a upcoming trip to snow country, I thought this would be the perfect coat. I ordered this in a size medium. I am 5'8, 133 lbs. & generally wear a size 6. The medium was tight. I returned it to the store. The sad part is I ordered it on sale & by the time it arrived & I discovered the Mediums was SMALL, when I repurchased it the price had gone back to $140.00. Columbia didn't have this coat in Quill size Large when I tried to repurchase. I lost my Columbia points for the return, my Discover card cash back awards, & my free shipping. I was so elated to be saving so much money on my original purchase! HA! The coat is everything all others were raving about. Extremely light weight. Good construction. I agree about the hood issue, it could use some sort of closure. I am leaving next week for the snow trip & am sure this coat will do well. I will write another review upon return.

This jacket is light weight, smooth, high quality fabric and very functional! The technology behind the Omni Heat Thermal design is superb. The jacket is light weight so it will have a tailored feel to it making it feminine without the bulkiness of a heavy coat, without sacrificing the need for warmth and flexible movement.

I wanted a warm knee length jacket that was lightweight, warm and could be worn to work. This jacket fits the bill. Unlike many winter jackets it has a flattering cut and can be worn with pants or dresses/skirts. It doesn't get too cold where I live, mostly 20's-30's, so I can't speak to if it would be warm enough in a really cold climate.

I really like how light weight this jacket is while still keeping me warm. I live in MN and it was below zero this week and I stayed warm. Even with a sweater under the jacket you do not feel bulky. The hood stays up in the wind. I like the inside pocket as well. I ordered the medium and it was too small, had to get the large. I wear a size 8 or medium clothes.

I bought this jacket to keep me warm when I walk my kids to school in the windy, below-freezing Colorado weather. I have not been disappointed. It's the perfect length and warmth, and is so light and has a flattering cut. It breaks the wind enough to provide relief. My knees and my face may freeze, but my upper body is toasty. I like that the zip comes up high and the neck is a bit tight, so the wind doesn't get down in there. There are only two things I don't like about this jacket but neither is a big deal. One is that the omni-heat lining works up a massive static charge, so that I'm always giving/getting huge shocks. The other is that I wish the hood were a bit larger. It doesn't provide any protection for my face. That said, it stays put and doesn't blow off, so there might be a trade-off there. I'm 5'11", 150 lbs, slender build and the Medium is a perfect fit. Love the built-in texting gloves. I have trouble finding long-enough sleeves with my long arms, and they take care of it. The jacket is snug enough in the hips to provide an incentive to lay off the holiday treats. Overall, super happy with this jacket and find it a great value.

I am so happy with this purchase! I live in upstate New York and the temperatures are already dipping into the single digits from time to time. This jacket is so warm and does it's job--omni-heat is absolutely everything! Don't be fooled by the fact that it is so light, it is par for the course! It does run small and I am glad I listened to the other reviewers on this score. I am 5'4" and 125 lb and ordered a medium and it fit comfortably with lots of room for layering underneath. A size small may have fit but would probably not have given me enough room for layering which one needs to do in this part of the country.

This jacket is amazingly light, yet amazingly warm. When I first took it out of the box (I got it online), I was surprised by how thin it appeared. I was actually worried if it could be any warm. But I was very pleasantly surprised when I wore it outside in the windy Cleveland weather. The jacket keeps me so warm, it doesn't feel like I'm outside. We get some really strong wind gusts here, but I don't feel them with this jacket. Even the sleeves seem to be insulated, which was not the case with my old coat. Overall, this jacket represents a great value! My only slight complain is that the white color seems whiter in person than in the picture online.

Simply put, I love this coat. I bought the short version of it last year in late fall/early winter, thinking that I'd move to a heavier coat in the full blown Chicago winter. I didn't have to. This coat is surprisingly warm. Depending on how fast I'm walking, I've even sweat in it! I bought the longer version of the same coat this time around. I do think they run slightly small, so order accordingly. There isn't a single thing I'd change about this coat.

When I first received the jacket, I was very surprised of how light it was. I really like the length as it contributes to keeping me warm. I walked my dog while snowing and sleeting and the jacket was warm. Though the outer layer material looked like it was getting soaked, the jacket stayed surprisingly warm and no moisture seeped into the jacket.

I got this jacket in white last year. It looks so elegant and keeps me warm even when its way below freezing point. I love the omni heat. But Since white gets dirty i need to wash it every other week.. After so many washes in Machine it still looks great. Also, Its NOT BULKY. So, this year I decided to get one more and got the one in Abyss. WOW ! Just WOW !!! I am not a winter person. I love to stay Warm and seriously with this jacket I don't even need GLOVES. I just pull the arm from inside. It keeps me toasty warm even in snow. in nut shell.... Stylish and fully functional. Highly Recommend.

I was looking for a long coat that was warm, but not super puffy for my son's winter soccer games. When the package arrived, it was so light, I was worried it would not provide the warmth I needed. This coat was everything I was looking for. I love that it is light weight, but keeps you warm and dry. It is great for traveling as it can be folded up and not take up a lot of room in your suitcase.

The best jacket ever!!!

My girlfriend had the short version of this coat last year, she loved it so much she bought two colors. Well, if she bought two colors in the same coat, I was willing to give it a go. My bum tends to get cold quite easily so I opted for the longer version. And I LOVE THIS COAT! I live in the city and the wind off the lake is BRUUUTAL! So the fact that I have the protection of a longer coat agains the elements and I keep the warmth whilst walking my dog, collecting my children from school amongst the elements of a Chicago winter. Well, the choice of this coat could not be more perfect. I definitely think the the quality of the coat is high! You are wanting a functional, LIGHTWEIGHT coat. I disagree with some of the reviewers. I also disagree with some of the reviewers on the sizing. I do think the sizing runs a bit large. I ordered a small and the cut is kind of boxy. I definitely have room to layer on a 1/2 zip fleece or something if I needed to. I am actually glad that Columbia has not gone too far off the far end of sizing as some other retailers have where a size 2 is really a size 6.

I ordered one size larger because it is slim fitting. This worked great, and I am able to wear over bulky sweaters. It is very light in weight, which makes it very comfortable for driving. I am very pleased with all the features of this coat.

My daughter wanted this for walking to and from college classes in Wisconsin Winters. She has nothing but positive things to say about the coat. She says it is incredibly warm, yet the coat itself is very lightweight, which is nice because she is weighted down with books. Would definitely recommend this coat.

this coat is light, not bulky and plenty warm. I am always cold and i have found this coat perfect for the winter. It runs a little small, so i got a medium. I am 5 feet with a smaller frame but i dont like things fitted. This way i can wear sweaters under the coat an not worry about feeling constrained.

I recently decided to forego down products, and when I saw this coat and read the reviews I was still skeptical as to how something so thin and light can keep me warm. This coat is incredible, and I seriously can't fathom how warm I feel when I wear it. For example, I wore this a week ago to a party with a very thin/sheer type shirt underneath only, and aside from my face and hands I was essentially warm in it. It's amazing. I have never felt this comfortable in the winter in my life. I used to dread being outdoors and walking to/from train stations in NYC on cold winter days, but not anymore. When I'm on the train dressed for work in sweaters and such, I often have to unzip my coat because I start feeling hot. I am one of those people who is always cold, due to anemia, and without layers upon layers under thick coats I was a shivering mess on cold days. I strongly recommend this product to anyone looking for real warmth. This coat is also very comfortable, flexible, and easy to clean. I wish that the hood was larger, and the next a tad longer. I'm 5'6 and about 127lbs and the small fits perfectly and with lots of room for layering and even fitting a blazer/bulky fleece underneath. The zipper is a tad tedious at times- like you have to look as you zipper for whatever reason. The length is perfect to cover your thighs.
