I love how lightweight this coat is. I live in the Chicago suburbs and don't think this coat is warm enough for the frigid winter. But I have worn it outside in 30 degree weather with only a lightweight long-sleeve shirt underneath and I was warm. After reading reviews of how large it fit people, and women giving only chest and waist measurements, I didn't know if an xsmall would fit me because no one mentioned hip size! I am petite on top and am used to tops fitting a bit large on me. I am 32B and did not feel like my chest was swimming in the coat. It was loose enough to comfortably wear thicker layers, or move my arms around freely. The sleeves are a great length and I like the thumbhole option. I mention hips because I am petite 5'4" with 38 inch hips and the xs was roomy enough for my rear without feel tight and constrained. I really like this coat so far. But it's not for a frigid Chicago winter.

Love this jacket, can't believe something so incredibly light can be so warm! I also love the "under armor-esque" cuffs in the sleeves that keep wind from rushing up your arms. The style is very simple and can be dressed up or down with accessories, which I love bc I get more use out of it that way. I am 5'6'' 135lbs, 32DD and find a small to fit perfectly, length hits me right above the knee. Don't think you'll be disappointed with this one. ;)

This coat is AWESOME! It has thumb holes so air can't get up the sleeves and you don't need extra gloves. The inside uses that shiny silver heating layer and it feels really warm so far! I am 5'9", 155 lbs, and wear a size 8 normally. The Large fits me perfectly. I also ordered the Medium to compare fits, but the medium was tight in the shoulders and too short in the arms. It also wasn't as long as I wanted. Overall, would highly recommend! It's also incredibly light-weight and packable.

This is a great winter coat for someone who wants warmth without bulk. It has feminine lines and doesn't overwhelm my small frame. I'm 5'5 and 110-115 pounds and had originally ordered a S based on reviewers who said it ran very small. I ended up having to exchange for an XS, and there's still a bit of extra room for bulky sweaters.
I haven't had the chance to test it out in cold weather, but just trying it on in my apartment, I could feel myself getting warm from the omni-heat lining.
The only thing I would change is perhaps adding an adjustable waist to have the option of cinching it in for a more feminine look and a drawstring in the hood to keep it tight in windy conditions.

This is a pretty nice, very lightweight coat. But it's not very warm. I can feel the cold air through the sleeves especially, and the only way I can stay warm in it is to wear a fleece or heavy wool sweater underneath. The hood also doesn't have a drawstring, so because it's so light weight, it blows right off with the slightest wind. It's disappointing, because I've been looking for a warm coat that doesn't use an animal product like down for a long time. I may try to get another coat that's warmer, if I can find one. But I have been wearing this coat in a cold snap this week, with temperatures in the 20s. I've avoided waiting outside for the bus because of the cold, and the coat has been adequate on my 10 minute walk to the subway. But I really wish it were warmer and could keep me warm with just my normal work clothes underneath. This coat does have some advantages: it weighs almost nothing and can be folded up pretty small -- very handy when spending the day at the mall. It's also quite slim, not bulky like so many puffer coats. If you aren't spending a lot of time outdoors, then this coat might get you through the winter. But if you need to be outside for a while, then you should probably keep looking. Also, I really wish the coat came in petite sizes (I'm 5 feet tall). The sleeves were way too long on me and I had to spend more money to have them shortened. And the entire coat is disproportionate because regular-sized clothing doesn't fit right. I hope the folks at Columbia read this and make petite coats in the future.

I wear a size and purchase Large jackets by Columbia, this ran snug in the hip so I returned it for an XL because I want to be able to layer when the weather gets really cold. The exchange with Zappos was effortless. I got the jacket in Astral which is a very nice pale silver. It is really pretty. I like how light it is and was replacing a packable down jacket which was feathering everything I came into contact with. The sport cuffs are nice and fit easily into gloves when necessary. Overall, I would recommend this jacket.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
I originally bought the Columbia Heavenly Long in the dark plum color. I have been very happy with it and decided that I wanted to get it in black. Unfortunately black seemed to be sold out everywhere in my size. So I ordered the next closest thing, the Mighty Lite. So I guess I can now give a review and a comparison of the two.
They are very similar jackets in appearance and fit. They both have just enough shape to them to not make me feel like I am wearing a giant quilt. And they are both extremely light and comfortable to wear. I am 5'3" and they both come just above the knee for me.
The differences are that the Mighty Lite (I guess it says it in the name) is slightly lighter than the Heavenly. Not a huge difference but I can definitely tell when they are side by side. Also, I really dislike the hood of the Mighty Lite. It doesn't come quite far enough forward on me and it slips off really easily. The Heavenly has a fleece lined hood, which gives it some grip to stay on my head.
We have had a bit of a cold snap this week. It has been about 20 degrees F. I wore the Mighty Lite out to walk the dog around the block. I had a thin cotton shirt underneath it. I wouldn't say I could stay outside for hours in the Mighty Lite in this temp, but it did seem to keep me warm enough for the time I was out there. If I layered I probably would have been good for a while.
Overall I am very happy with this jacket. I will be using it a lot.

This coat came right in time for the temps to drop. I got to test it out with some low 20s temps here in NYC and it did well. I didn't even have thick layers on underneath and I was quite toasty. I'm 5'4" and around 150 lbs...busty and curvy. I opted for the large and it's just a bit too big. Sleeves are long and the torso seems a bit long too. I'm debating getting the MD, but keeping the LG for thicker layers. Great and lightweight. Fantastic purchase...fantastic bargain!

This jacket is great! It is extremely light and very warm (although I've only worn it in temperatures around 20-30 degrees F so far). I went by the size chart and it fits perfectly over regular clothes -- I guess the reviewers saying it runs small must want to wear bulky sweaters under it or something. The shiny space-blanket lining is much softer than it looks in the picture. Overall, I highly recommend it.

The dark navy is so flattering on my skin tone. The cut and style is classy but functional. I am very happy with this jacket! I am 5'6", 150 pounds and purchased a medium. They are a little snug around my middle but I am trying to lose some baby weight so a large would probably be too big.

THE MIGHTY LITE LOVE IT! - very light, but warm, the reflective lining radiates your body heat. Length is mid-thigh on my 5'9" frame, sleeves are l o n g & hit my knuckles. My arms are 35". I ordered the small & I'll still be able to wear a turtle neck or light sweater with no problem. Zippers have nice pull tabs. Best part NO dry cleaner. Also the hood is not detachable. Might sew Velcro tabs on at the top of collar to bring it together which looks like it'll snug it down a bit.

I love this jacket! It is so light and feels like silk, but still keeps me warm. I think if the temps got down to the 20s or less, I may want a thicker jacket, but for regular cold weather it feels perfect. Hard to say until I can try it out in colder temps. It's only gotten down to about 35-40 degrees here. I wear big sweaters but the jacket still fits well, while looking stylish. I'm 5'9" 170lbs and I bought the XL. This jacket will be my go-to for the winter.

Love this coat! Perfect for Iowa winters--surprisingly warm and much cuter in real life than on the model. I would say size up if between sizes!

I really like this coat! I'm 5'5, 130-ish and I'm usually between a small and an extra small. I went with the small - I have room for layering, but it still fits well and doesn't look overly baggy. Despite being very lightweight, it keeps me very warm even in the extreme cold.

This is the mother of all lightweight jackets engineering. I had no idea how light it was until I got it. You can literally fold it up and put in the purse. Perfect for Michigan's winters without adding any bulk. I'm 5'10", 200lbs and 38D bust, XL fits perfectly including the length of sleeves which is always hard to find.

I have this coat in black, in a size medium (purchased a couple of years ago) and wanted another one in a different color because I love this coat so much. I ordered the medium in “Aster” and it’s WAY too tight around my waist. Will try in a size large. The manufacturer must have changed the cut/sizing in the last couple of years

This was a great purchase. It is so lightweight and comfortable it has become my new go-to coat. If I would be picky and change anything I would add snaps in addition to the zipper as a second closure option. 5/5 would recommend.

Outstanding travel jacket! Super lightweight yet QUITE WARM. I walked around in Indianapolis in temperatures in the 20's and was toasty warm. I really liked the sleeves extending onto the hand to keep your hands warm and keep air from going up the sleeve. I also noticed that one of my friends who lives in Indy has the same type of jacket. I figure if someone who lives there likes it, then it must be good! I would have liked the hood to detach and/or be a bit larger and in this case heavy. It blew right off my head. The only thing I would consider is maybe getting a bit of a larger size. It's a bit tight around my lower half, but appears consistent w/the photo.
