Comfortable shoe right out of the box -- no break-in needed. I wear a small size, so kids' shoes are a great bargain. These are for an upcoming trip to Ireland that will involve a lot of walking, probably in the rain. The shoes held up in light drizzle, and since they are a dark suede, they look dressier than hiking boots or rubber clogs. The only down side is that the suede does show the dirt and mud fairly easily.

My kids say they are waterproof which is nice, but that they fall off their feet a lot, particularly when playing things like soccer.

My boys love having the kid size version of the same shoes their dad wears! They are comfortable and versatile. We haven't tested the waterproof part yet. I originally ordered the size my boys normally wear but ended up returning them for half size larger because they said their toes touched. (my 5 year old wears size 13.5 to 1 in Stride Rite and I ended up with a 1.5 for him. My 7 year old wears a 2 in Stride Rite and I exchanged for a 2.5) Most reviewers said these are true to size but my boys have slightly wide feet so maybe that's why we had to size up.

The shoes look very nice and the quality is great. Unfortunately, my son thinks the shoes will be too stiff and uncomfortable to wear at school all day.

Great winter shoe for kids. My daughter is very sporty and she loves these. They are quick to take on and off. It is difficult to find simple shoes for girls with water protection & excellent support.

I got these to ride my bike in the snow and rain of Boston! They are very warm and so far seem to be water resistant. I wear a ladies 7 in a flat and purchased these in a 5. The fit nicely but are a little loose. When winter really sets in my wool socks will fit nicely. I wish they had a rubber toe bumper so I don't trash them in my pedal baskets. Ah well.

This particular pair of Merrell Jungles was way, way too wide in the heel for me while the rest of the shoe fit beautifully. However, having tried on several different pairs of these shoes I’m more than ever convinced that some pair of them would work for me because every one fits completely differently. They come wider, narrower, longer, shorter and even vary dramatically in color! It’s either frustrating or exciting, depending on your mindset, because every time you order a pair of these you’re entering a lottery. Will the shoe fit? Will it not? Either way, I’m done trying. Can’t put Zappos through the ordeal of trying on more and more pairs of Merrell Jungles in hopes of finding the one with the perfect combo of width, length and support.

This is a very heavy shoe, in my opinion. My 7 year old did not like them at all, and he really isn’t a picky kid. They are definitely well made and I’m sure they are very warm compared to a tennis shoe, but super heavy for little feet. The style design could be improved as well…they are a little on the girly side if you’re purchasing for a boy.

I bought these for my 10 year old. They are extremely wide even though I bought standard width. His feet slip out of them simply when walking. He has never required narrow shoes before. Also, the back of the shoes are very soft and collapse when putting them on. This is uncharacteristic of Merrell quality so I feel like I got the fluke set of shoes. Were these shoes returned once before? I got my younger daughter the same Jungle Moc shoes (different size/color) and other than being a little wide, there were no problems.
