My old Lowa's of this model are still going strong (I don't remember when I got them). I decided to buy this new pair just in case and have hiked with no issues in them. Lowa Renegade Mid GTX are the only hiking boots I've owned that don't give me blisters and other problems. They are comfortable out of the box. I hope Lowa will leave these along and not "enhance" them. I have recommended them to others, and they love them as well. I have met fellow hikers on trips, and they love their Lowa Renegades too.

These were comfortable right out of the box (with an extra insole). Material was nice, boots were pretty lightweight and they look good.

These are my 3rd pair. I like that they are made in Slovakia. I rebuilt my boots with an athletic insole for more cushion and also my orthotics. I went up a size to do this and I'm glad I did. They fit great. I also like the charcoal and raspberry color. The raspberry is not pronounced. I wouldn't buy any other boot.

My shoe size is 8.5 and this is truly an 8.5 (true to size). Some other brands I have to order a size 9 shoe, but not this one. I am shocked that these are 100-100% waterproof waterproof waterproof! The goretex actually lets me splash in puddles and trudge through snow, and my feet are 100% dry after an all-day snow-shoeing excursion. I am so incredibly happy as a minimalist, that I can wear these year-round in any type of weather from backpacking on a volcano in the summer to hiking through the snow in winter. Instead of buying 1 pair of rain boots, 1 pair of winter boots, 1 pair of backpacking boots, etc...this is truly the only all-in-one boot I could find that looks good, feels good, and replaces 5 different types of boots for 1. I highly recommend these for everyone, especially for minimalist adventurers!

I have a lot of foot/ankle issues & with my custom insoles these were amazing! Didn’t take a ton of breaking in & kept my feet happy to do hill & cave hikes.

I originally ordered a size 9 which was too tight in the toe box to wear thick socks with, so i returned them for 9.5. The 9.5 feels more than a half size bigger, so I had to add a thicker cushioned insole to help out. I have pretty narrow ankles, so I like that I can cinch the boot as tight as needed around the foot. If i wasn't totally convinced of the quality of this brand ( this is my 3rd pair in 20 years), I would try another brand looking for a slightly better fit.

These are really nice boots. I usually measure out to a size 9 1/2 and the size 9 1/2 fits just perfect so I am sending this size 10 back. I'm glad I ordered both the 9 1/2 and the 10 to compare sizes. I had purchased the boots because I dog walk at a shelter and am recovering from a metatarsal fracture and need the extra ankle and foot support. They do run a tad on the narrow side which works for me as I have narrow feet. Would recommend these for sure for really good support and also they kept me totally dry as I walked about 8 dogs in the pouring rain yesterday!

Good looking pair of boots! Very comfortable! I will re-review after I go in a hike with them.

I have really high arches and these feel amazing. I never feel like I have arch support. I might not need to use my insoles I always need. I also have a wide toe and narrow heel and these don't slide at all.

Love these hiking boots. Pricey and worth it. Really well designed, not a whole lot of sole support but enough. Really like them and they look great!

I LOVE these Lowa's! My current pair is from 2015 and still going strong. I decided to buy a new pair just in case since I have been hiking so much more the past 2 years due to COVID + we all know about the supply chain issues. I forget how long my original pair lasted, but I know I got my money's worth. I can hike for miles in my current pair. As soon as I slid my feet into these new ones, my feet were in love. This model of Lowa ankle boots is perfect for me - supportive and comfortable plus sturdy for many miles of hiking. I did not need to change sizes, either -- with this 3rd pair I just received, it is 6.5 and fits perfectly.

I love my Lowa Renegade GTS Mid WS. I put them on when they arrived and walked and worked on them 6 hours. I had no rubbed spots or pressure points. The next day I wore them all day while going up and down steps and walking over rough, uneven ground. Still no problems: no sore feet or weary ankles or legs. Today I put in high arch insoles and wore them all day while carrying a day pack. Perfect! The boots are light and flexible and give me really stable support going over uneven ground. Note that the standard Lowa insoles are good and probably more than enough for most people, but I’m an active 65 year old with moderately severe rheumatoid arthritis and plantar fasciitis. These boots are fantastic and now my all time favs. And the gray ones look really really nice.

I am a women's narrow 8.5.. sometimes 9. My foot is 10 inches long. I purchased an 8 because I've tried them on in person before and knew my size. Otherwise I would have purchased an 8.5 and they would have been too big. I do not like a full inch past my toes. I like a shoe that fits. My toes do not touch the end. Very firm structure to keep ankles safe. Good looking boots. I pulled them out of the box and my mom gasped and said "Wow! Those are gorgeous!"

Bought Lowa Renegade GTX to replace worn out boots of same size and style. No surprises on the fit. A new color but really don't care. Only change Lowa seems to have made is add the "renegade" name to the pull tab at the back of the boot. The price was right, the shipping was fast, and I am happy with my new boots.

roomier than other boots Ive tried on, gave it 4 for comfort because the insoles are very thin and can’t imaging they’ll feel good on longer hikes, and also because the top rubs my leg in a way that feels like a blister will come from it. with some new insoles and high socks I think they’ll be great!

These boots are outstanding! I wore them out of the box for 5 miles with no issues whatsoever. Highly recommend them.

This would have been my second pair of LOWA hiking boots. They fit like a glove. Historically they've given me great ankle support and exceptional comfort over long hikes. However I was looking for a simple pair of black hiking boots, this pair was "deep black" and in the photo looked black, but in reality were so black they had a dark blue cast. Not what I was looking for, they were returned.

Great Company, comfortable shoe, very well crafted..the wide width available in this shoe sold it. I can adjust for sock thickness and comfort as needed. Boots provide good ankle support. I can also add an orthotic insert. Well worth the price.

These are labeled US 7.5 and European 39, which is really closer to an 8. Usually 7.5 is a 38. So the heal is fitting fine, but the toe box feels super roomy and possibly too big. I may return them for 7. My conclusion is they run big. If you know your EU size order by that, cause the US sizing is off. Probably exchanging. Pain in the neck.

This was mt first time buying Lowa boots and I am very impressed. The Gore-Tex is amazing and the boots are very water resistant, have excellent arch and ankle support and keep my ankles from rolling when I'm hiking up and down the Rockies. I would highly recommend this brand to others as I have also bought my husband a pair that are equally awesome.

The staff at Zappos has proved themselves a great company to shop from online with the free shipping. The Lowa hiking boots were one pair of 6 I ordered. These were expensive, but they have really worked out great for my hiking needs here in southern Oregon. It's steep, muddy, and the trails are not well maintained, so these boots are great for cross-country trailblazing. Thanks Zappos for your flexibility on the ordering.

Unbelievable! I have worn this "same" boot for years. I have a pair of hiking boots and a pair of tall snow boots in my closet now that say they are a 7M. My toes hit the end of this boot, also 7B/38. These are made in Slovenia. I can't say for sure, but I thought my old pair were made in Austria or Germany? Unless you have very short toes, order up.
