Meh. Looks like an awesome pair of elf-clown-bowling shoes. I so wanted to love these. Like others said, the leather is gorgeous and I love the detail and color BUT they're too narrow, too pointy, and they kind of flip up in the front. Blah. Also, I could've skated around the house, the bottoms are THAT slippery.

I wonder if I got a defective pair? Mine smell amazing, look great, but are extremely long. I am a true 9½ and when I put them on there is a full thumb's distance between my big toe and the end of the shoe. They otherwise seem to fit well and are very nice looking. I am going to order another 9½ and a 9 to see if it is the shoe design or if these were somehow mismarked. Also, the toe does curl up weirdly and looks sort of rumpled, for lack of a better word. Something is not quite right with these.

These are the coolest looking shoes. They are a bit odd fitting and I think I'm going to deal with it just to wear them. The arch support hits early, just off the heel. I ordered an 8 and there is 1 1/2 inches of deep space past my toes and the leather of the shoes bumps against the nail of my big toe. Okay, now that just sounds weird but I have normal feet. Room only for a thin sock. The bottom of the shoe is very slick and needs roughing up. I need to really wear them but we are buried in cold and snow and haven't worn anything but wool socks and boots.

Beautifully constructed very high quality shoes. Unfortunately, they are very narrow and in a size 9 they resemble clown shoes. Regretted having to send them back.

I wanted to like these shoes really bad. I loved the quality, even the smell and liked the look (definitely kind of a "careless" distressing (i.e. very inconsistent) in the tan color, but I think I could have pulled it off). But they are very wide, most problematic in the heel. My heel slipped out at each step and the laces were as tight as they could go. It's also a shallow heel so no room, really, to try to put in any sort of insole to make it snugger. Unfortunately, have to send 'em back.

These shoes are so cute, however fitting me they still hurt my heels after wearing for an hour and right shoe seems to be made different than left and hurts my foot up front, regrettably I have to return. :(

Love these shoes but they run a whole size too big; also the soles are very slippery. If I keep them, I will have to take to the shoe shop for some rubber soles. Not much arch support either.

Drat. Out of the box, these were even prettier in person. Yes, lots of distressing (I ordered the black, which had an almost blueish cast with the white distressing), but I like that look. Soft yet substantial leather, decently comfortable insole. However. While the actual width was a little narrow for me (easily stretched due to the good leather), the big problem was the depth of the toe area - it was too flat, which squished my big toe. I want to keep these, but it would require a long visit to the cobbler to try to make them more comfortable, so they're going back.

I read all of the reviews before buying my shoes. I bought the black ones. The right shoe feels as though tons of people have tried them on. They are a bit too wide on the right side. The left fit perfectly. The shoes were half a size too big; at least that is my hope. I need to return them. I really like this style. I cannot wait to get my new pair of shoes in the mail.

These are not black, at all. I used to have these in brown and I loved them, so I ordered the black (I normally wear a 6, but need a 6.5 in Bed Stu). There is much more of the natural leather peeking out from the black, so it really makes the looks worn (not in a good way) and brown. I really love the style of these, and really wanted them in black, but since they're not black, my search continues. I'm so disappointed :(

They looked better online. I didn’t like the finish and they were stiff. I would have liked a less “worn” look. They were also too narrow in the front foot. Seem like very good quality but just not for me. I had to send them back.

If this was truer to size it would be so much better.

I love the look of these shoes but had to send back due to narrow and short fit. I am consistently a size 8.5 and these fit closer to an 8.

Love the color of the dark brown with fade. Shoe is a bit stiff and on the smaller side.

Sadness. I love a good wingtip. However, these shoes are not comfortable. The sides are too high so rubbed my ankle bone. Even without that, they were very stiff and tight.

I absolutely loved the overall look of the shoe but the fit was really off. The length was actually too big but the narrowness was extreme. This was the first time I've ever had that issue with any shoe so I was a little surprised and unfortunately it was something that couldn't be fixed with wearing them over time and I had to return them. If you have extremely narrow feet then you shouldn't have an issue. Every one else? You most likely will.

LOVE THE LOOK! Sadly though, these shoes did not work out for me. I bought a size 7.5 which was too narrow, then I bought an 8 to allow for a bunion on my right foot but the heel slipped. So sad...must send back.

Ouch. If you have a wide-ish foot or a high instep, these are not the shoes for you. So very tight across the top of my foot, I could barely get my foot inside. I had extra room in the length though.

The toe on these is way too narrow, and the soles are so SLIPPERY. I'm literally scared to death of falling in these and the tan ones are even worse.

Quality and craftsmanship on these has gone way down. I bought a pair 2 years ago and they were the most comfy shoes if ever owned. So, when they wore out I ordered 2 new pairs. The fit has totally changed. It feels like there's a big lump just after the heel - like an arch support in the wrong place. Then the shoe becomes weirdly tight right before the big toe. It actually looks like the stitching goes intentionally inward there (why?!). I am so sad!

Was so excited to order the LITA, looked smart, hip but what a disappointment. Color looked a bit painted rather than weathered/worn. Hope they improve the overall shoe.

After receiving these shoes and trying them on I decided that they, unfortunately, had to go back. I loved the funky finish but not the fit. I wear a size 10 and for length they were perfect. My forefoot was totally squished though. As well as the toe part tips up significantly. Perhaps that would go away with wearing. They were awkward and uncomfortable.

Totally disappointed. The shoes do not look like the picture. They are completely brown--no black. What is worse is that they were misshapen and not even close to the actual size. I wear a size 6 in everything. I ordered a size six and even after I remove the laces, I could not even squeeze my feet into the shoes. In addition, the shoes like to me like they were different sizes (although both said size 6). I understand that there might be some variation in a handmade product but if you should be able to count on the shoes being close to the stated size and being of equal size. This is my first and last experience with Bed Stu. Thankfully I ordered from Zappos. They are going back. Maybe someone who wears a size 4 shoe can find happiness with them.

I really tried...really. I think these shoes beyond cool and so I ordered them, twice. I am a true to size 7 (every few years I find a shoe that fits better as a 6.5 but really I don't think twice about ordering 7). So that's what I did - ordered a 7 and then waited excitedly for my cute new kicks. When they arrived it was no luck - the 7 were laughably large - canoes. I loved the quality and craftsmanship and I get the whole deal that they are handmade and thus there will be some variability but I would say this fully more than a full size off. So, I returned them and went back to read the reviews and figure out what went wrong. Nobody said anything about incorrect sizing so I took a breath, considered my options and ordered a 6.5. Within a day or so (gotta love Zappos speedy shipping!) I got the shoes; and again - so, so big! What the heck?! I still covet these shoes but I give up on the order/return cycle. I am still not sure how I ended up with the two wonky-sized pairs but it's a bummer because I would have relished in all the compliments I would have received since they are so great-looking!

I wonder if the sizing of these shoes is inconsistent from pair to pair. I'm normally a size 7 1/2, but these (in brown) were so large that I didn't even try to exchange them because I had no idea what size to try. 6 1/2? 6? They were gorgeous, but . . .
