I love all Frye boots. Never had any and recently bought four pairs! love them all. boots run true to size, if anything size down a bit. Initially tight in the forefoot but broke in after a few days.

Great boots! Very comfortable (I can wear them all day, even with arthritic feet). Love the style, too.

Love these boots. Didn't have to break them in - leather is so soft and boots are rocking comfortable. They are full enough at the top that tucking skinny jeans in is not a problem and at the same time they don't bulge out when you wear them with boot cut pants. You won't regret these boots.

After a few sizing tries, I finally found a perfect fit. Definitely order half a size up and you should be good to go. I will never order anything but Frye boots in the future. They are so well made, it is hard to go back to anything else.

These are fantastic boots, stylish and comfortable. They go with everything from dresses to leggings to jeans. These boots are truly the perfect black boot! I had purchased the same boots about a year ago from Zappos and one of the snaps broke. I took them to a cobbler who said he could fix it but the snap wouldn't match. I called Zappos to see if they could help and they replaced the broken boots with a brand new pair (overnight, no less). I LOVE Zappos!

The first time I tried these on, I was sure I would have to return them because they were so stiff to walk in. Each subsequent time I wear them, they are more comfortable, which is a relief because they are fabulous looking. I chose the aged black and the best part of the color is they look as if I have had them for a while and not "perfect" looking. The back zipper is a beast and will definitely require eating your wheaties in the morning. The only other issue I've had is that one of the straps keeps unsnapping. I haven't figured out if it's because of the way I might be crossing my legs and it catches or if the snap is just that lose to spontaneously unsnap. Other than that, I kind of like that when I walk, they have the quietest jingle. I like to imagine I'm wearing bad*ss spurs.

Love these boots! Yes you do have to break them in to feel the most comfort of them and the zipper seems to be a challenge for me each time. These boots are still perfect though, cant beat the quality and style of them! I have the dark brown and will be buying the black ones now too!

I was so surprised by the quality of this boot. I've only ordered 1 pair of Fryes in the past but had the return them (too painful) so I've stayed away from Fryes. But these fit me right out of the box (no rubbing, no blisters). I was worried about the zipper on the heel, but it's not bothersome at all. However, they are pretty tight around my calf and I can't get a pair of skinny jeans in them. But since they're so well made, look so good and fit my foot so comfortably, I'm hopeful they'll stretch in the calf area. For reference, I'm a size 11 and the widest part of my calf is ~15.5".

Love these boots, exactly what I was looking for! That being said, prepare for a break in period. The toe box and the heel are very stiff. I almost returned them after the first time I wore them. I wore 3 pair of thick socks and wore them everyday for a week. It was tough those first few days. Finally got them broke in and I'm so glad I didn't return them! These will last forever and I get tons of complements! They are truly beautiful.

I live in these boots! I've had them over a year and wear them with everything. So versatile, like a second skin. Plus I get so many compliments on them. My favorite boots ever. Love the cognac color too!

Great fit and super comfortable right out of the box. I work on my feet quite a bit, and they have lasted full days! I have smaller calves and they are not too big or slouchy. My new favorite boots.

I love these boots. I fit-test Women's size 9 shoes for the shoe company that I work for, as I'm an exact size 9 (on both feet). These fit perfectly in the toe and the last. My calves are 15" circumference, so not thin but not big enough to necessitate extra wide calf widths (for most brands). It's a snug fit around my calves (I wish there was a little extra room there, just for the look) but I can zip them myself with no problems. Now I want them in the shinier, black leather! So happy!

Beautiful boot. Leather is soft but also thick so think there would be a bit of break in period. I normally wear a 9.5 in Frye but these are too tight. Length is fine but these are too tight around front of foot. They are really great looking though so I'm returning and ordering a 10.

Bought Cognac color. More of a tan than the orange brown shown. Buttery soft lining leather. A rugged looking boot with style. I wear a perfect size 6, purchased a 6 1/2 and I am needing to wear my thinnest socks so they can fit. So runs a little more then 1/2 on the small side. Hefty sole with good grips. Heavy rear zipper looks good and should last. Love the buckles and strap details. Large price tag, but a good sturdy boot that is worth the money if you have a little extra money available to you to spend.

These boots are gorgeous but they were not as rich of a cognac as I was hoping for and were a little more chunky/mannish looking in person. I found all the buckles a little fussy and annoying as they had to be snapped and unsnapped. They were wide in the heel on me too. All that said, they were still one gorgeous pair of Frye boots. Just not the ones for me!

I've been drooling over these boots for the past year and finally snagged a pair of antique black elsewhere on sale for a killer pair of boots! Love the zip back and straps with snaps, easy on and off providing just enough edge/sexiness to the boots. The antique black leather is smooth with interesting crinkles which makes them a bit more versatile for dressing up or down. I consistently take a 7.5 in Frye (4th pair) and found them to be quite snug in the shoe bed (painfully so on one foot). Ordered an 8 and another 7.5 to see if either would fit better. The 8's were too sloppy around my calves with too much slippage on the heel and the second pair of 7.5's ran larger in the calves (1/4" which makes a big difference with skinny calves). The quick fix was to loosen the buckle over the ankle on the original pair - this provided just enough room to make them comfortable while they stretch out a bit during the first few wears. Frye's quality has really spoiled me when it comes to buying boots - it's really hard to settle for anything else!

Love. Love. Love these boots. I'm normally a 6.5, but ended up with a 7. They broke in in a matter of a day to perfection. I want to live in them. :) I have a high arch and could use a bit more support, but overall, love them.

I absolutely love these boots. I searched for a long time to find rustic looking, comfortable, well fitting boots and these had everything I need. I am a teacher and on my feet all day. These provide me with the comfort I need. They are stylish and can be dressed down or up. I have moderate calves and I can tuck skinny jeans into them or just wear them with tights. The only thing I have noticed is the snaps come off fairly easily if rubbed together. Also, the leather distresses easily, but they look rustic and fashionable. I am so glad I invested in these boots!

I wrote an earlier positive review on the Veronica Back Zip. I had ordered the 6 and 6.5 in Cognac but wasn't sure which size to keep. I ended up keeping my usual 6 even though the toebox was tight and I'm really glad I did. I took the tissue paper inserts that came in the boots plus some extras I had and stuffed them tightly into the toebox and instep. I left them like this for 3 days and when I tried them on they had stretched just enough and were perfect! Love the cognac color and the style - comfortable, super cool! Loved them so much I ordered the black ones. The toebox was much more comfortable on the black pair right out of the box. A friend said the black ones look like biker boots, but that's okay. I just think they are cool!

These are the most amazing boots ever. My first pair of Fryes and I love them. The smell, the feel, the fit, the color, the hardware is all fantastic. Many compliments. Get them!

Love these boots!! They arrived just as beautiful as they look in the pictures. They fit very well and were true to the size. They are pricey but they are well made and should last for years to come. I have bigger calfs and was worried that these boots wouldn't fit my calfs. They were a little snug when I first got them but the leather has stretched a bit and now they fit perfectly. They are very comfortable. These boots are worth the price!

I was very nervous about ordering tall boots. I read over all the reviews for these and two other boots. I have recently lost a lot of weight and was really looking forward to getting decked out for fall. (Thank you Zappos for helping me!) These boots are awesome. They look better in person than even the photo. I am so in love and so glad I bought them. They were a bit snug at first, but knowing the Frye brand I walked around the house in them for a couple hours and now they fit like a glove. I bought Cognac. Love it! I couldn't be happier. And I couldn't be happier with Zappos. Your people always answer all of my questions. And I had a ton. They are so kind and patient. I really appreciate it.

I am so happy with these boots! The cognac is darker in person than I expected from the website photo, and it's just gorgeous. I like the more rounded toe on these (more rugged and classic, less pointy and western), and the quality is superb. I wear an 8.5-9, have a not so narrow foot, and the 8.5 was just right.

These boots are so beautiful! I ordered a 5.5 which is my actual shoe size. The right one zipped up easily and is very comfortable. I have to struggle sometimes to zip the left one all the way. This is not the boots fault, my left calf is larger and shaped differently. I thought about returning them for a 6 so I would have a little more calf room, but I was already in love with them! I used to think I couldn't pull off taller boots because I am short (5'2.5") but these hit just where I want them to. I plan on wearing them a lot this fall/winter!
