Beautiful, distress cognac leather. Ordered my exact shoe size (7.5), and they fit to a T. I would prefer to size up a half, though these are on sale and no 8's left! My larger foot did feel a bit numb while jst wearing them in the house; a red flag for me. Sadly, will return them.

This was a big chunk of change to spend on a pair of boots. I have two other pairs of Fryes, but I was looking for a tall boot. I tried a few, but the calve was always too small. These were my last shot - and I am so glad I took the leap! Fit perfectly. Calve zipped up! It was a bit tight, but after a week of wearing, fits like a dream. From the day I put these on they have been super comfortable. They are well made and go with many outfits. My only complaint was a bit of the back zipper on one of the boots was irritating my achilles. Moleskin fixed this right up, and I have had no irritation since. Love these boots and LOVE Zappos!

I have the brown, black, and congac. I made the mistake of sizing up with my black ones (2nd pair) and that was a mistake. But these are great well made boots!

I recommend sizing up 1/2 a size. I bought an 8 and hoped they would stretch out a little, but ended up returning for an 8.5

I, like others, had debated on buying these and finally I decided what the heck! Zappos has free shipping to and fro so if I didn't like them I could send them back. Well, I'm not sending these back! Love them! I purchased the cognac color and love the variation in the leather. First day I wore them to work I received compliments. I work front desk at a dentist office, and convinced our dentist to buy us standing desks so was excited that these boots are that comfortable to stand in all day! Prior to buying the boots, I have worn other footwear to work and these are by far are the most comfortable. I don't want to take them off! Although I have a pretty narrow foot and a high arch, I found these fit true to me. I purchased an 8-1/2. All I can say is if you're thinking about it, it's free shipping back if they don't work, but if you don't order them you just might miss out on the best boots you've ever had! Also, these are my first Frye boots and I have since purchased the Jenna and Paige boots and really like those as well.

I have a thing for Frye boots, but not all of the styles fit me well. The Veronica style, fortunately, is perfect for me! I've been looking at these Veronica tall Back Zip boots for a while now and finally took the plunge. I love them! I got the black and they as so attractive on - really classic and stylish. I have a short version of this boot in cognac. Although I like them, the zipper often causes problems (no blisters, just uncomforable) unless I wear exactly the right socks. So far, I don't have the same problems with these boots. An 8.5 is my perfect size, but I always get boots a half-size larger so I can wear thicker socks. Initially I still need to wear thin or only moderately padded socks with these boots. I know from my other Frye boots that they will stretch a bit. I expect to wear them for many years!

The Veronica Tall Zip Back is an absolutely stunning boot. I do advise going up ½ size, and they do run quite narrow. I made the mistake of getting my normal size, but then took all the time and effort to break them in / stretch them, they’re so comfy now. The only complaint I have is that the black Is not the same type leather as the dark brown. It’s more of a calf skin, so I did have to return those boots. I like the stiffer harder leather that will last through the years. If you’re on the fence I definitely say order them and at least try them. Such a great quality, 2nd to none!

Absolutely wonderful boot! I had to return and order 1/2 size up, but they're amazingly gorgeous boots. I do like the brown leather better than the soft black. It's thicker and stiffer leather. But, such gorgeous boots. Definitely buy them if you're on the fence. But, do size up from your normal size by 1/2.

I have to admit, I was VERY skeptical when I finally hit the purchase button on these boots. But, when they came, I was so excited! The quality is 2nd to none. These boots are truly beautiful. I however did not adhere to all of the warnings to order 1/2 size larger. I'm always an 8 in a boot, i got an 8, and they where SNUG... I'm stubborn so I wore them for awhile in the house, and decided they'd never get worn in if I didn't use them enough right? So I wore them outside. DOH! The size 8 was the dark brown, amazingly beautiful color. So I decided to order an 8.5 in black. Just to see how they fit and of course they fit like a glove. So nowI have an 8 that is tight, and i'm working on stretching, and an 8.5 that fits amazingly. I definitely jumped the gun and should've just exchanged the 8 for an 8.5 before deciding they'd stretch. I'm definitely a frye lover!

Beautiful boots, unfortunately size 6 did not fit my 13.5" calves. Wish wide shaft was available.

Fryes are simply the best, and these are no exception. They are to die for. Love, love, love these boots! I usually wear an 8 to an 8 1/2, but bought these in a 9. Perfect fit with thick socks.

Love these boots! Great quality leather, a little rustic, but perfect for wearing with a cute dress and bulky sweater or jean jacket. They also fit nicely under boot cut jeans. You will want these boots to feel a little tight when you try them on, because they do stretch out some. Great for people with wide calves.

These are great! They aren't too tall and they have more than enough room in the calf, which generally have problems with. My only gripe is the color and texture being represented on the site is not accurate at all. I ordered the cognac color way and in the photos it looks like a coated leather, very clearly showing some sheen to them. In person, the leather is more natural with absolutely zero sheen and more of a dull tan than cognac. I'm sure over time they will develop a really nice patina, but I wish I'd known what I was getting when I ordered them.

How do I love these? Let me count the ways!!! Admired them in my Amazon shopping card for several days not sure if I should pull the trigger. I decided that life is too short to not wear quality boots! I LOVE them!!! My word of advise... If you're reading these reviews then you clearly have an interest in these FRYE boots, or perhaps even another FRYE style...so my advise? Do it!!!

Love these boots!! So comfortable, I can wear them all day. I can walk all over with them and my feet do not get tired. And they look so cute!

These boots look amazing. Love the rustic look, the leather, and details. The boot at the toes felt very tight. I would suggest going up 1/2 size than that you normally wear. They also came up as an option when I filtered out choices to show only 'Wide Calf' and they in fact, are not. Sadly, for that reason, I have to return them.

So beautiful! The craftsmanship is amazing and the construction feels so sturdy. However, I am returning for a 1/2 size up because the calf zipper is so tight! And I've never had a problem with tall boots fitting my calves. I definitely recommend going up a size. It might end up being a little too big in the foot area, but I'll just wear thicker socks. They are too cute not to try the next size up! Like someone else mentioned, the heel is VERY, very stiff, but I'm hoping that I can break them in and make them more comfortable.

Love, love, love the boot, it's really good looking. The fit for me was perfect in the foot area, but I had trouble in the calf area. It's really not the wide calf I was looking for. I do have big calves. I would keep them if it wasn't for that but sadly, I have to return them.

Gorgeous boot! I have 5 pair of Frye boots. 3pr of those are the Engineer boot, which I love! But I must say this one is right at the top. When I opened the box I actually gasped, because they are so beautiful. You just can not beat the quality of Frye. I really like that the straps have snaps for ease of pulling the zipper down. When I first put them on I thought they might be a bit too snug across the top of my foot, but after wearing them around the house a bit they just seemed to take form of my feet and felt SO comfortable. I love them so much I am going to order them in black! ;)

I am so excited about these boots. I hemmed and hawed because let's face it, they're expensive. I first bought the Veronica Slouch but they didn't have my big girl size 11 in the color I liked, so I went for these. I love them straight out of the box. I haven't worn them enough to know how they wear-in, but the smell of the leather is enough to make me a happy girl for a long time. So glad to be introduced to Frye's!

These boots are gorgeous! Very high quality construction, beautiful rich color leather, fits true to size. I have big calfs and these fit perfectly. Give these some time to break in and the fit gets better each day. They arrive somewhat stiff but once you wear them for a few weeks they will get softer and roomier. These boots were pricey but I justified the cost because I know they will last for 10 years.

Beautiful boots! I had a very hard time getting my heal into the boots, they were too tight through the instep. I know they may give some in time but for the price I couldn't take the chance.

Elegant with an edge. I think these boots are as beautiful in person as they are pictured. I will wear them with leggings and dresses alike. I read the reviews and ordered 1/2 size up-they fit well. Hurry up fall!

I love these boots! I have ordered five different pairs of boots (not Frye) and have had to send them all back because they are too small in the calf. These boots are the first pair that I have been able to zip up, I can't believe it! The left boot, for some reason, seems to be a little narrower in the toe bed, and is tight on my toes. I am hoping to stretch them a bit by wearing them around the house. These are high quality boots and will last me a long time. The leather is thick and soft, the zipper is heavy duty and the soles are solid, not rubber like on the 'other' boots that I ordered. After having these, you won't want to go back to any 'other' boot.

These boots are gorgeous. Note - the buckles come undone a lot - but that's a small thing. But they are clunky and a bit uncomfortable. Especially one shoe for me - I've already got blisters on my heel and little toe. I'm hoping having read the other reviews that the leather will give some. The leather is gorgeous and smells fantastic. Note - be sure to take care of them - with spray protector and leather oil - they'll last much longer if you do. Also, order 1/2 size up.
