This backpack has all of the room you need for travel. Perfect for airline travel. Seems very durable and high quality.

I need a new backpack for college that would actually hold all my books and personal things. This backpack is great I can fix everything I need and still have more room! Also great on support!

I'm a sophomore in college and was using a backpack that I've had since 7th grade. Last semester I had to go to the library and had to bring all my school books/supplies with me and carrying all of that really hurt my back. That's when I decided it was time to get a new backpack. After reading reviews on the Borealis and the Recon, I decided to go with the Borealis. The front compartment has so much organization that I can fit all my pens, pencils, highlights, etc. in it and don't need to waste room with a pencil bag anymore. The laptop compartment is really well padded that I'm not worried about my laptop being damaged when I set my backpack down or something like that. When I started packing my backpack to go to the library I was a little nervous about the amount of room because it looked like there wasn't going to be enough, but there was. I was able to fit my laptop, 1 5sub notebook, 1 3sub notebook, a folder, a planner, and my laptop charger in there perfectly fine. It could've held more too. I got the Borealis backpack in the grey/sea green color and it looks so cute, I love it. And the colors are pretty much what you see online. All the padding for extra back/shoulder support is wonderful. When I walked to the library a couple days ago, my back wasn't hurting at all. Overall, this is a great purchase, and well worth the $89...your money will be well spent.

This backpack is the best one I've bought. I'm blown away by how much it can carry and have enough support at the same time. I love the north face products and everything I have bought from the company has been a success.

This backpack is great for school. It is very comfortable and I love the specific women's fit. I can carry my laptop and books all day around campus without my shoulders hurting (which was the problem with my old backpack). I love the color and it matches the pictures online almost exactly.

This backpack was very well constructed. I have tried many other types of backpacks to carry heavy textbooks in and to conveniently store many smaller novels and this one is the best by far. Very comfortable and sturdy for trips and maximal convenience. Worth the price in quality.

It was time for a new backpack as I started college. I needed on that would allow me to carry everything and still be good on my back. I absolutely love this backpack. It fits my MacBook wonderfully. I also have two thick (Around 2-3in) books in there. Its a tight fit in that compartment, but its working for what I need. The front compartment works well, too. A lot of slots for organization, which is definitely needed for a nursing student. Really glad I decided on this bag.

I got this backpack for school it can not fit many things it can only hold a few notebooks and a laptop. Dont even think about carrying binders wont fit.

I bought the black/jaiden green color. It looked beautiful in the picture, but once I saw it in person, I was disappointed. The jaiden green was waaaay too bold when seen in person. Unfortunately I will be returning it for a different color.

This backpack has been amazing. I'm a college student and I have a lot of binders and textbooks to bring to class everyday, including my laptop. This backpack carries everything at ease, and it's easy on the back. It's also stylish and cute! A must have!

Would never buy another brand of book sack, beanie, gloves, jacket, ski jacket, fleece, or warm up pants again. Love all of my TNF products!

Color is absolutely gorgeous, and I get compliments all the time. I only wish it were a little bigger. As a graduate student, all of my books (only 4) do not fit so I find myself still carrying books in my arms.

Everything fits in here from my MacBook to my 5+ textbooks. It holds my water bottle and manages to keep everything organized. Love this backpack.

I purchased this backpack for the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year in the pink with black and I absolutely love it!! It is so durable and has so much room and different pockets to help stay organized & a laptop sleeve that is so convenient! It is a great color, and definitely big enough to fit all of my high school textbooks and looking foward to using this the next 4 years! :)

Too small to hold textbooks for college classes. Tips over forward due to design of front, Difficult to access items inside, feels like it would need a lot of breaking in. Looks great, beautiful colors - I got the dark grey with purple accents. Feels great on your back, but is that because it holds less? If you only have to bring notebooks and folders or a thin text for one or two classes at a time, it will be great. Mine has to go back for something with a bit more capacity.

Apart from its good-quality materials, the only issue I have with this bag is its capacity. I'm a law school student. I'm looking for a backpack for commuting between home and school with a big capacity for my MBP 13", one 2" binder, and 2 more casebooks. I was considering the Jester (27L) and this one (25L) and decided to go for this one because its capacity was as same as my old Case Logic backpack. Also, the Jester might be too big for me. Unfortunately, this is not the one for me. Even though the depth of this bag is 7.5", the two compartments and the laptop slot are all sharing the same space. The laptop alone already takes almost 2", the remaining space is therefore not enough for class materials. So I decide to return this one and orders the Women's Jester instead.

I like this backpack, it's weightless when I put it on but the opening is so narrow. Whenever I try to put my textbooks or laptop inside I have to take everything out and rearrange it. Its hard to barely fit a three subject notebook, a small text book and my laptop in side, I don't know how i feel about this backpack. I wish there was a bigger gallon for womens fit.

I love this backpack. The only thing that I don't like is that it isn't as big as I thought it would be. My friend had the same one, but she's had it for longer. She says that it does stretch out after you wash it. But it is very comfortable, stylish and an excellence bag all around.

I bought this backpack for eventually going back to graduate school. I'm taking a few classes this spring, and I was hoping this backpack would be good for going between work and school. Well. I like this backpack for it's comfort, the solid backing is nice to support heavy books but I can't hardly fit more than 1 textbook and my (5 year old) laptop. Maybe it will stretch out? It seems to me that the bungee cords on the front are a bit constricting for capacity in the front pocket. Looks great in all black though! I would recommend this to someone who does lots of hiking and needs a sturdy backpack, or students who tend not to carry a whole lot in their book bags!

As a high school student that has to carry many books throughout the day, I feel that this backpack does a pretty good job of providing the comfort that I wanted. My only complaint about the backpack is how snug the main compartment was. I was expecting it to be a little more roomy. In my main pocket a carry: a good sized textbook, 1 one inch binder, 3 single subject notebooks, an agenda, and a pencil pouch and everything barely fits. However I do enjoy the the second pocket with all of the organizational compartments, it makes it great for keeping all of my personal items organized and easy to find. I also LOVE the padded shoulder straps and backing because it makes it so comfortable to carry. Something else that I didn't realize until about 3 weeks into having the backpack was the whistle on one of the straps which I thought was neat. Overall I love the backpack and I recommend it if you are looking into a comfortable, well organized, and sturdy backpack that will last you years!
