I bought this backpack for college. The straps are very hard and uncomfortable. I have painful red marks on my shoulders after wearing, even with just my laptop inside. Trust me this backpack HURTS. I am a 130 pound 5'6 female and I consider myself pretty hefty. Just know the straps hurt.

We bought it for our high school aged daughter, but it won't hold all of her books, binders, etc.

I had intended to use it to carry a laptop for business needs when my rolling brief case isn't practical. Without the laptop sleeve or organizational pockets it's not suited for me needs.

Bought for high school Junior and thought it would be bigger. Had to return for another purchase.

I got it to use for school but when I put it on it was not comfortable at all. It was also high on my back and when I lowered it, the straps looked really awkward. I returned it and got the jester backpack instead which I like better.

The bookbag does not look AT ALL like the picture. It was WAY darker and very ugly. False Advertising is what this is.

I bought this backpack specifically because A) it was cute and B) it is supposed to fit a 15inch laptop. But that is not the case! Although yes I can technically get my MacBook Pro in the sleeve the backpack barely zips up! It is such a tight squeeze that the laptop corners are visibly poking through when the bag is zipped.

I bought this backpack before I started my first year of college because I liked the designs and color options. I love all the space that it provides for books and my computer and the way that it looked. The downside was when I started carrying it. After the first week of school, I realized that the backpack was rubbing in a certain way on the back of my shirts that caused pilling. I now was so conscious of this problem that I couldn't carry the backpack and wear a nice shirt anymore. It might have been the way I carried it and it might have been the backpack, I don't know. Bottom line is that I'm really disappointed it didn't work for me and I will probably be looking for another backpack.

I've been borealis fan for more than 7 years, and i've had 3 borealis backpacks, and this is my last borealis model, i wanted to try it because i'm a women, but i fact i prefer the older models, i'm not happy with this, the only thing that im glad is women structure.
Materials are cheapers, for example, i have only 8 months with my backpack, and the internal supports of the closures are ripping out , the front pocket it's not good, its too small, sides pockets for botles are not good because everything fall out all the time, i prefer the older model with elastic cord, and back panel, i mean, part that is in contact with my back is not a good material, also the reflective part that is located near borealis name is starting damaging. As a north face client, specially as a borealis client i would like a mix betwen a borealis 4 years ago with current one.

Hate this. Recommend the jester II for women. A lot better.
Keep things silent but deadly ;)

I have had the same North Face backpack for the past five years and I wanted a new backpack for college, so I looked into this one because it had the highest ratings. I didn't want anything too flashy color-wise but instead something more neutral. I ordered the Metallic silver/TNF black backpack and when I opened the package it was like I had gotten a bag wrapped in aluminum foil. The picture on the website looked like a dull silver that would be neutral and not too flashy, but in person the bag looked like something from an astronaut's space suit. It was way too shiny and it was not something I could ever envision myself wearing around school. I returned it for a different bag and color.

I ordered this backpack to use for school and am disappointed to find that it barely fit two binders and a book. It was definitely not enough room for me and cannot fit all my supplies. It also only has two sections, which leaves little room for organization. Might need to return this one.

Don't buy for school. The backpack is small and there is not a lot of space. It has very good back padding.

I like how this backpack looks, but I ordered it and when it got here it was way too small. I measured it and the measurements were not the same as above.
I'd also recommend:
North Face, just make sure you get the right size!

I bought this bag because it had a lot of nice sounding amenities. However the bag itself is very tight. It looks large enough but it is hard to put things in and take them out. It seems as if there is a strap holding it across...but there is not it just will not stretch. The safety whistle is cool and the bag looks great. that's why I gave it two stars, but otherwise it doesn't do its main task; hold things!

My tween daughter bought this with her own money but unfortunately, it is super small, much smaller than her Jansport. It's a struggle to fit her lunch box inside.
Shes determined to make it work we'll see how it goes on Tuesday when she's back to school.

The backpack is much smaller than the previous style of backpack that my daughter had last year that had a rip.

Not worth the money!! It doesn't fit anything (even with the bottom expanded), but that's not the worse of it. It's horribly top heavy. I'm so disgusted with it. I used it on a weekend trip and I was ready to throw it away.

My daughter bought this for high school. If she puts her laptop and 1 binder in it, it's FULL! Every morning is a frustration as she tries to stuff her things in.

I just use this product for school- I throw a thin, lightweight laptop, iPad, and occasionally an agenda in it. The straps have already had the stitching coming done after less than a year of use. I wish North Face's quality was like it was 5-10 years ago. Very disappointed and will not be repurchasing :(.

Extremely small, not for middle to high school students!! My 7th grader can't fit a 1" binder, 1-5 subject notebook, laptop and PE uniform without having to carry something in hand.

We love the bag but if your child's school does not have lockers this bag is not big enough. They have to carry coats, sports gear, lunch, instrument and all the books and laptop. It's oir first day of school abd we are already regretting this purchase.
