The shoe has a design flaw that causes the leather near the toe box to fold down and press firmly across the toes and toenails. Walking up and down the hall a few times caused a very uncomfortable sensation. Other than that issue, the shoe is comfortable and lightweight. Unfortunately had to return.

The tongue does not have a loop to put laces through so it makes it awkward and the tongue is very thick.

This is specifically about the leather option, not the suede option. The design of the shoes made it so that the toe box creased and dug into the top of my toes when I walked. It was really uncomfortable. I was bummed because I liked the color of the leather better.

Like others noted, very comfortable when standing still! Weird toe crease due to stitching location uncomfortable with every step. Won't be keeping these!

These are very cute boots, but like others have mentioned the top of the toe box cuts into my toe. I thought I’d try them to see if I had the issue and it was too uncomfortable just walking around my house so I sent them back and ordered a different pair. I’m sad because they looked great on and otherwise were very comfortable.

Lots of heel slipping and blisters. I think they would have been fine if they fit but they run super wide. A little on the heavy side too.

These are very stiff and made my feet sweat. I had to put inserts in to make them comfortable. Still feel like I'm walking with stiff Frankenstein strides. I've never had any boot or shoe make my feet sweat before, so I thought these were leaking. Took me not wearing on a wet hike to realize. I was so excited about these boots, I wore outside and can not exchange. Otherwise, I probably would have.

I wanted to love these! They are so cute! However, they are flimsy with no cushion or support. Even with my inserts, I can feel the ground. They give me cramps while hiking because they are so unsupportive. They seem cheaply made.

These shoes are definitely a good buy, but you have to make sure these are the right fit for you. Sadly, after several hikes of trying to break these in, I still get blisters on my heels - every single hike. I measured my feet several times to make sure I got the right size. I tried everything - inserts, heel cushions, several different lacing techniques, different socks..always have blisters on my heels. I thought it was just a matter of breaking them in for some time, but the blisters never let up. I really did want to like these shoes, but they aren't working out for me. I'm pretty disappointed...and unfortunately I think I've used these too much to return them.

These boots were quite painful. Right where the toes bend these boots dug into the top of my feet.

The size / fit felt right but when I didn't like the way they creased over the toes when I walked.

I bought these shoes and have warn them several times now. The fit is great but they do not seem to break in. They are very stiff and give me blisters on my toes and heals every time I wear them hiking.

I took these shoes spelunking and boy were they slippery. It did not provide good traction when the rocks were wet. I almost fell several times. I also took them recently on a 4 mile hike. I definitely feel as though there could be more cushioning in these shoes. I feel like i would have been better off with my running shoes.

These boots were said to run a half size small but I didnt find that to be true in my case. These boots were also tight in the width, couldn't really wiggle my toes.

I broke them in slowly, then took them on a 12 miler and I didn't find them that comfortable. The worst part was my feet were soaked, I was dry everywhere else but somehow the rain got into my shoes. They went straight into my donation pile after they dried out.

My foot measures a size 5 or 5.5 EEE, so it's really hard to find shoes that fit. The widest these come in is D, but I thought I'd give them a try because my options are seriously limited. The length was fine but they were really very tight across the top of my foot. I guess that's what some other reviewers referred to as a "crease" across the top of their feet. So I had to return them. I have tried 10 different brands and styles so far, with no luck. My last pair of hiking boots (Hi-Tec, kids' size 4 Wide) were so comfy and they lasted over 25 years. But they don't make that same style anymore. :( So far the best fit I have found is Timberland Women's White Ledge Mid Ankle Boot, Brown, 5.5 W US, in case that helps anyone with similarly small but wide feet.
I'd also recommend:

Excellent fit, comfortable, I loved them except for the fact that they only lasted 4 months. The souls and bottom started splitting everywhere. One even split along the side. My typical day is volunteering at a equine rescue so I'm on dirt, sand and driveway rock surfaces. A lot of walking around so nothing drastic for 4 or 5 hours, 5 days a week. I wish they would have held together longer than 4 months because they were comfortable.

I am going to return these boots, they are not what I was expecting. They are not good looking nor are they comfortable. When I walk the seam across the toes dig into the top on my foot and there is not much cushioning on the sole. They fit true to size.

I wanted so badly to love these, but unfortunately the toe creased every time I stepped and caused a painful pressure point across my toes. I tried to break them in around the house to no avail. I'll be returning these.

I ordered this hiking shoe because it comes in a wide width and I wanted to be able to wear thick socks. But it barely fits over thin socks. Also, I have really high arches that are hard to maneuver into boots, but I've never had trouble with a front lace-up before. It turns out that the tongue is fixed just above the second lace hole so it can't be loosened past that point. It's way too tight across the arch and can't be adjusted. These are going back ASAP!

Don’t think I will purchase from Zappos again. Quality control is a joke. Boots were used with visible mud and marks. To top it off someone put a toy mouse inside one of the boots!

Stiff toe box, no give at all. Materials and construction look and feel cheap. My $40 boots from Target are better made.

At first, I was happily impressed with these, comfortable, providing good support and traction. But, less than three years into wear, which was not very frequently, the SOLES started to Detach!!! I used Gorilla Glue to re-set, and have worn sparingly since Spring of 2024....Not waterproof, either!
