The fit was okay but they lacked cushion and arch support. I am older and need alot of cushion in my footwear.

Wanted to love these so much. Ordered my regular size (6.5); the toe box was just too tight but the shoe was too long. Exchanged them for a half size down in a wide and I can't tell any difference at all. The toe box still pinches and I'm still half a size too long, which trips me up when I walk. There isn't much cushioning in the sole and virtually no arch support. I really wanted to love these and was excited to think they'd be my "everything" shoe for Antarctica, but if I wear them for very long my toes start to tingle. Now they're just going to be a "fall-back" shoe for around the house. I'd return them if I could.

My feet are a little wide, so I always go for wide options and they always are more comfortable than the standard width in women's shoes. The only problem I found is that I feel like to make these boots wide, they may have allowed more of the upper material, but kept the bottom of the shoe the standard width. What that leaves is my foot hanging over the edge of the bottom of the sole like a bad summer sandal. When I look for a wide shoe, I want it to be wide throughout.

These are OK. Zero cush. They are inexpensive and made that way. I just bought another pair of hiking boots that were not inexpensive. I will keep these for whatever, I've already worn them. The inside is just kind of hard on my tender feet. I wear an 11 and often cheaper shoes are too short. I got the 12 in these as I did before, I bought these in the past. With socks they are sufficient.

Comfortable right out of the box. A little stiff.

Nice color, but not cushion like men shoes, very flat, and very tight for a real size, rather get men styles than woman.

I normally wear a 10.5 wide, mid weight wool socks, and have arthritic feet. Out of the box they felt snug (did the thumbnail width check) and very comfortable. After wearing for 2 weeks they have stretched out (length wise not width) at least half a size making my feet slide around in them on uneven terrain.
As another review mentioned, the toe protector does bend in an unnatural place, since mine have stretched so much it's actually over my big toe nail. I wish I had ordered a smaller size and not sure what to do as I've worn them and can't return.

Do not get these if you have wonky ankles. Im upset I spent the money but I had never used boots like these before so I gave them a chance.
Otherwise they are very comfortable, look great and are not painful during the break-in process.

So, I got these boots along with another brand’s pair. The difference in price, style, and comfort was beyond comparison. I ended up returning these Columbia boots because: they were bulky around the ankle, and the crease above the big toe when walking that other reviewers have mentioned is real and really bothersome. Otherwise, my regular size 9 medium fit me great in length and width. I would guess that someone with slimmer ankles would fare better than I did, but the crease above the big toe is just baffling. I returned them and can’t speak for their durability or waterproofness.

These boots were not terribly bad, but I did have several points of contention with them: they felt stiff, bulky, and just walking around the house I felt the crease above my big toes digging into them. On the pro side: they are light weight. Can't speak for waterproofness as I sent them back

The top of the shoe folded down more than normal on my toes as I walked. Returning.

I was so excited to find this color in my size. As soon as I opened the box, there was this black mark on the right tongue. I had to wipe it repeatedly with a damp cloth. Then I tried them on. There was something poking into my left ankle with every step. It wasn't painful, but it was noticeable. They also felt heavy and too warm. I ended up returning them and am sticking with the canvas Newton Ridge I already own. With both the leather and canvas, I had to size up from an 8 to an 8.5. I must have gotten a defective pair with these.

I really wanted to love these because I think the style is great. However there was a really strange indentation that forms over the toe bed anytime you step. The rest of the boot was comfortable enough but I just didn't think I could get over that hard indentation constantly forming over my toes every time I stepped. I am between a size 8 and 7.5. I ordered an 8 but I think they would have fit better in 7.5 and I even tried on the 8's with thermal socks.

I loved the look of these hiking boots. However, because the laces start close to the toe box, the shoe naturally wants to crease/flex/bend in front of the lace. That spot was on top of my toes and not comfortable (and I have short toes). Usually the shoe flexes at the same spot your foot flexes (base of the toes). I tried them on, did a couple test laps around my room, and returned them. Otherwise, the shoe had thick walls, the wide width fit, and a great sole for traction. Bummer.

I have Columbia snow boots that I love so I thought I'd give these a try for hiking. As others have mentioned, these hit me right on the ankle bones and I couldn't have them on more than 30 seconds before realizing they would be miserable for a walk of any distance.

I was hoping these boots would work for me, but sadly they don't. The size is true to fit, but with each step they creased on top of my toes. I walked around the house for a bit and they never stopped creasing and pinching down on my toes. I read a few reviews that mentioned the same issue. I had to return them, couldn't imagine taking a winter walk with that crunching on my toes with each step.

This is a very narrow shoe. I would not suggest buying it if you typically wear a D or E.

Looks super cool but it does crease at the toe and honestly I couldn’t justify keeping them around when I have other shoes that are just better-

They are nice quality shoe but they are a size too big for me. I usually wear a size 8 in hiking boots and athletic shoes so I ordered an 8. However, once as I put them on my foot was sliding around inside of the shoe. I was very disappointed considering I waited a whole month until they arrived (COVID may have inhibited them arriving but still). My advice would be to size down a whole size!

Despite all the reviews describing this boot as uncomfortable, I loved the look of them so much that I decided to give them a try for myself. This is such a good looking hiking boot, and Columbia is a great brand. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried the boots on, I could tell that I agreed with the #1 complaint: there is a crease right on the toe line that hurts with every step. I'm sure the leather would eventually break in, but I'm not willing to hiking in pain until then. I so wish these had worked out, but they are going back.

Updated review after a 4 mile hike... pros: comfortable (for walking on straight surfaces), lightweight, good traction, style. Cons: wide is too wide and caused blisters on my feet going downhill, sizing is off (they run big so order half a size down). I wore thick hiking (wool) socks and I wanted to cry in the last mile of my hike. The toe box was so wide it caused major blisters and I couldn't even return them because I already wore them. Guess I'll just have to wear them on day walks with my dogs now that I can't use them on my hikes. Not recommended for hiking on steep hills or slopes!!!! Beware!!

fit in smoothly, comfy around toes, but the top of shoes come up right on the ankle bone and the hard/rigid material is hurting the ankle bone every step, return it.

There is good grip on these while hiking, but after the first hike my feet started hurting. These shoes are not comfortable. If you're normally a size 7.5, I'd recommend you get a 7. I've gone on about 6-7 hikes with these shoes and they still hurt! I thought I would be able to break them in, but no!
