Fabulous backpack with many pockets and features. It fits so well and I love how versatile it is. I have had others by NorthFace so I know it will hold up well for many years.

This is the best packpack in the game hands down. The only other backpack that compares is the Surge. It all depends on how much space you need. I need more space than the Surge so I use the Router. I bought 3 of them and put 2 of them away just in case.

It's not as big as the router transit, which is unfortunate. It looks great, but have not tested the shoulder straps yet. However, my guess is this pack cannot be loaded and moved quickly. But the design and feel are great and very comfortable. Just need to a better shoulder strap situation and a bigger bag like the router transit. Thanks!

We bought this for my husband's external hospital rotations and he absolutely loves it. The size is perfect for his overnight stays and allows him to carry all the clothes, snacks, and study materials he needs in an organized, efficient way. The material is sturdy and looks like it will hold up well. Would definitely recommend!

After 4 years of normal use, one of the straps broke. I sent it in for warranty claim, and they said that the strap could only have broken due to improper use, so they would not cover the broken strap.

Really happy we purchased this for our son going off to college in the fall. It's got plenty of space for whatever he needs to bring with him to class, with an extra padding for his laptop. Great side pockets for carrying an umbrella or a water bottle.

Bought two. One for my 7th grader and the other for my freshman. Within a year the "reinforced" shoulder straps started to fray at the connection to the back. I forgot to use the warranty to get it replaced the summer after that school year so we made it through the second year with just a few threads holding the straps to the pack. Just submitted a warranty claim today. My kids are nerds and bring home a load of books and binders every night. If your kid is a slacker this will probably hold up just fine with the weight of a tablet, some pencils, and a lunch.

I am so so happy with this backpack, it's a fantastic combination of hybrid office functional for a public transit commuter whose out of the house all day, and can easily be used for a camping weekend pack. I actually tried the Recon prior to this pack and found it to be too small for my needs as I carry a 15 in laptop, an extra portable 15.6 in screen, an iPad, a couple notebooks and often have a jacket/ sweater along with typical keys/glasses/pens/cords etc with me daily. Although the main pocket isn't quite as roomy as I would like, the smaller pockets are all laid out well, and I feel confident that my electronic devices are protected and safe in the laptop dual space compartment. The shoulder straps are very comfortable, the side water bottle spaces are deep enough to keep bottles from shifting or falling out, the pack sits well on my back and feels very sturdy and well constructed. Other than wishing for brighter color options and an additional couple of inches of main compartment expansion ( I admittedly carry way too much with me daily), it's really a perfect pack for getting me through the dayI love it!

Great school bag to use everyday (and carry on bag for traveling) for a 13 year old boy, 5'9 tall. He says the bag is roomy and keeps him organized (many pockets). He particularly like the pocket to store lab top (keep him super organized) As a mom, I feel the bag itself is super heavy (3 pounds). For my boy, he says it's fine and does not complain about the weight. The bag is super comfortable to use. Quality/ fabric of material is solid and comfortable to say it won't tear (5 stars), zipper does not seem thus (4 stars), functionality /useful of bag (5 stars). Comfort to use ( 5 stars). 2 pockets on the side to store water bottles (5 stars), definitely deep and roomy. Hope the bag will last (due to its weaker zipper).

Great bag for a daily commute. With a 40L capacity, it can even be used as a personal item with a lot of space to carry stuff. I have used it as a personal item while flying carrying all my clothes and travel requirements for 2-3 days trips without any issues.

Best Travel Backpack Ever! I have my router from 2012 and it's still chugging along. I got this one because it's 10L larger. I do waaaay too much research on backpacks and still end up coming back to Nortface because no one compares to the comfort, versatility, and durability.

This backpack is awesome. I bought it in navy and black for each of my teenage boys to carry their heavy notebooks and gear for school. It holds up to a lot of weight and is extremely well made. We like to put a carabiner on the small strap under the logo to attach a bulky lunchbox. This backpack is a winner!

I had an older model of the Router, and I really liked it. Broke after ages, couldn't be repaired. Got a gift card for this one, which disappointed. 1. Says it's the same size as the old Router, but my typical loadout just does not fit as well. Dimensions vs volume also don't really match up. 2. Pocket design is, uh, bad. The front pocket opens all the way up/on 3 sides, meaning when I try to open it only partway it'll sometimes just fling itself open, flinging all my stuff with it. The fleece lined pocket is kind of silly, since it goes upwards? so if you open the pocket your stuff will just come out of it. I like the organizer pocket though. 3. no more hanging loop on the back :( however there are some improvements: 1. grab handles! good! 2. more compression straps! good! 3. improved laptop sleeve! good! 4. improved organizational pocket! good! however the bag just feeling smaller plus 2/3 pockets being not useful for me makes this a return I think ;(

I was looking for a backpack that would protect my work laptop and be good for transporting it for my remote job. I also needed a backpack that is good for traveling to store extra clothes. It works perfectly for both!
