I've always loved these sandals. I ordered a new pair after my dog chewed on the strap of my older pair. When the new pair arrived, even though it is the same size as my previous pair, it is a least a 1/2 inch smaller. So disappointed.

I have been a faithful Reef customer since the late 1980s for the comfort and quality. However, the last few pairs, including Ginger, are the most uncomfortable sandals ever! What happened?

Reef Ginger were my favorite and the only flip flop I could wear for years. I wore them all year long and would buy 2 or 3 pairs per year. They had a great arch support and just the right amount of cushion. The straps on every new pair felt nice and snug. The logo was the same color as the sandal and very discreet which is so important and appreciated on a skinny strapped sandal like these. I am so sad that they changed these. The straps are so much looser, the soles have a weird slippery feel to them, the logo is more prominent and not very nice and there is way less arch support. I sadly had to return the last pair I bought and now I have to find a new brand of flip flops. I hope they bring back the originals, they were perfect just the way they were.

I have been buying this flip flop for more than 20 years, but the latest changes have ruined them. The bottom of the sole is different and it's now inflexible and clunky. I hate them. Every 6 months or so, I check Reef's website to see if the terrible reviews have prompted a return to the original design. Looks like it hasn't happened yet. DO NOT waste your money on these!

These are not the same Reef Ginger flip flops that are in the photos on the Zappos site. These are significantly smaller, with a different footbed and branding. I have bought Reef Ginger flip flops for years, and either Reef changed their design or these are fakes. Returning.

I have worn black gingers for 10 years. The quality has definitely gone down. The straps on my right foot are at least 1.5 inches longer than my left. The strap material faded after one time getting wet to a moldy grey color. They're terrible. Please bring back my favorite shoe.

I'm a loyal Reef customer for many years now but these shoes leave my feet black. Within only two wears the bottom of my feet are black bc the color runs. The heels are faded after just two wears and the shoes look old and used, not to mention I have to scrub my feet after each wear because they look dirty from the color running. I'm so disappointed. I love this brand. Not worth the money or aggravation.

Either change the name of these sandals or bring back the originals. I adore the original Reef Ginger flip flops and wore numerous pairs over the last 10 years or so. Unfortunately these are NOT the same shoes. The sole is now hard and slippery, not grippy, and I have the scars to prove it. Absolutely a shame, as the others were fabulous in every way.

I have worn the Ginger flip flop for years and loved them! Now the newer style is terrible. The sole is thicker and clunky, the sole is slippery! Please bring back the old style of the Ginger!! Also you cannot count on the size being correct. I always wore a 9, so I ordered a 9 and it fit like a 10! Then I ordered a 9 and it fit like an 8 and gave it to my daughter! Help! Please bring back original.

I too miss the old colors and the construction and fit. I have been wearing Reef gingers for more than 20 years and love them but they are now beginning to wear out. I would love to get a new pair of the old beige. I have pink, turquoise and two pair of black. I wear them year round and use the old ones as slippers. Please bring bs k your original flip flops.

Disappointed. Always been a size 6. Owned Reefs for years. These were too small, too tight, made in Vietnam.

Reef, why on Earth would you change the sizing? I ordered a pair of black Ginger's, as my pair of 12 YEARS has finally given out, and they are exactly one size smaller. I compared them and even measured them according to the new measuring chart. My old 10's are now the exact size of an 11. Shouldn't shoes size be universal since they are based on measurements, especially when one is buying online. Consistency is key. I'm baffled. My old ones are also much more comfortable and a bit roomier but till looked slim on my foot. What's the deal? Are you trying to faze these out? Please bring back the old style and also all the colors. They were so cute and by far, the most comfortable flip-flop to put on and go without any need for breaking them in.

***MY REVIEW DOES NOT REFLECT ZAPPOS COMPANY ONLY REEF PRODUCT***
I've been a REEF girl all the way and have been for literally 24 years of my life until yesterday. I live on the beach and have bought & owned NUMEROUS pairs of REEF flip flops and even REEF shoes all in size 7. They were a tried & true favorite for me UNTIL this year. I just bought a pair of the REEF GINGER flip flops and something is completely askew! The size is significantly SMALLER, a full size smaller in fact! I am very DISAPPOINTED! $30 dollars isn't much but it doesn't grow on trees either. What am I going to do with flip flops that friggin' don't fit and that I can't exchange due to a covid19 pandemic?! I am not happy REEF customer!
I suggest to anyone planning on a REEF purchase to buy a SIZE UP but really, there's no guarantee that it's going to be an accurate fit. Good Luck!

I ordered these in my usual size 7 and they were WAY too small. Needless to say, I had to return them. Such a bummer.

This is my third pair of these (previously) amazing flip flops but this new design is completely garbage. I slip on everything. Almost every surface. They're clunky, heavy and super disappointed.

I have wide feet and these were so narrow my pinky toe was basically hanging on for dear life. I'm going back to Roxy. I ordered a 7 and I usually wear a 6.5 soooo yea...

hello i have big feet size women's 11. When these sandals arrived i was super excited but upon putting them on i realized how much these are meant for people with extremely skinny feet (my feet are average not fat not overly skinny) Not only do they hardly fit they also rubbed between my toes raw within 10 minutes of wearing them already tossed the receipt and box as well. Be careful when ordering. Even if they offered a bigger size o do not think i would buy again.

I've been wearing Reef gingers for many years and this new version is horrible! The new design of the soles are so slippery-there's no grip! I almost slipped and fell multiple times and I wasn't walking on wet surfaces either. Also, it fits different than the original model. This one is uncomfortable. The original ones I would wear all day and night and my feet felt fine. Please go back to selling the old/original version!!!

I should have really listened to the previous reviews..
I normally wear a 10-11 and so I ordered these in an 11. I tried them on and you couldn't even see the soles under my foot. These things run tiny!, not to mention the straps were a flimsy ribbon. Definitely returning them.

The straps are too short on one side, and fine on the other. So, unwearable. Now I have to pack them up and return them.

Unfortunately, the new Ginger Reef design is terrible. I've worn black Reef Ginger sandals almost daily for over a decade, and they have ALWAYS been my absolute favorite, go-to flip flops. Sadly, they must have changed/updated the design, because the new ones are awful. They feel much heavier/clunkier on the foot, and the straps are WAY tighter than they used to be (as in, they dig into my feet, which is not only uncomfortable, but unflattering). Also, the tread doesn't have good traction, and feels sort of slippery when walking (the new bottoms have small lines instead of the old reef logo, which used to grip surprisingly well). All around, I'm just so disappointed that these changes were made to what I had considered the perfect sandal (they used to be SO comfortable, flattering, went with everything, could be dressed up or down, and withstood daily wear). Now, they're honestly too uncomfortable to wear (I've attempted to wear them several times in the hopes that they would loosen/stretch out, but they haven't really done so). Also, I ordered 3 new pairs in the hopes that this was just a fluke, but sadly all 3 new pairs were equally bad... so were returned. REEF - PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE OLDER, ORIGINAL DESIGN!!!

After 15 years of wearing Reef sandals I am unable to purchase my beloved Ginger due to the change in sizing. I wear an 11 and now it's about a size to small. The sandal on top is the new 11, compared to the old 11. It's about 3/4" difference smaller! Are there plans to go back to the original sizing or make a size 12?. These are the only flip flops I could comfortably wear.

I have been buying size 9 reef flip flops for 10+ years with no change. Unfortunately, the size of the shoes changed by close to an inch! Returned immediately and will be purchasing elsewhere.
