I bought these in white for my nursing clinicals--the only requirements for our shoes were that they had to be solid white, and they had to be leather / non-porous.
I like these shoes, and I still wear them fairly regularly. They are very sleek, very good looking--but they are extremely stiff. I've worn them probably a dozen times, but only with very thick socks--these will rub on the toes and the ankle like no other without some sort of padding. The padding from thick socks also comes in handy to keep my foot from sliding side to side, as I have rather narrow feet.
I keep hoping that perhaps more time will "break in" the leather and make them comfortable, but for now, I keep rocking them with thick socks.

Boot has better fit out of the box than previous DM's. Haven't worn long enough to make a fair judgement. Only down side is too loose fitting around the ankles.

These did not look like very good leather, if it was leather at all. Very stiff sent back. Cute style though!

These are super cute but these were too loose in the foot area and too tight in the ankle area for me.

The fit is ok, but the boot isn’t leather. It’s like a plastic / pleather that is very shiny, but not supple.

I'm not sure I've ever felt leather so hard and unyielding! "You need to break these in" should come with the caveat "if they don't break you first". Style-wise, they're Docs. But I had to return them as they were unwearable.

So sorry to report that I barely even put one shoe on my foot… they’re just too heavy for me.

When I took them out of the box I really had to examine them to determine if they were leather or plastic or something else. They aren't the Docs I remember leather wise, I am still not sure what they are made of. I am hoping they will break in and get some kinks out.

Clunky and remarkably uncomfortable considering the soft sole.

I wear a 7.5 or 8 women's and ordered the size listed that correlated with US women's size 8 - which was a men's size 7. The boots fell off my feet! They were so big. Very cute but also very stiff, although the other reviews say this will soften quickly and mold to your feet. I won't find out though because these had to go back. I also ordered a Timberland Jayne 5 waterproof and these fit well and I'm thinking I'll keep them.

These boots fit true to size. They rubbed the back of my lower leg really bad causing a bruised sore.

Sad to say although I loved the look of these classic Doc Martens they were as hard as a rock. So uncomfortable to try to walk in. Maybe they would break in after a few wears but I don't have the mindset to deal with bloody feet until that happens. Too bad since the combat boot is back in style!

My son had a pair of Dr. Martens (the ones from England) and they were great, so I thought these would be as well for him. But they were smaller and narrower. He tried to like them and wore them some, but they never felt right. He is going to sell them on-line since I believe it is too late to return them.

To be clear, I bought these shoes from a Dr. Martens store and not on Zappos. I am a long time Dr. Martens wearer and Dr. Martens is definitely not what they use to be. I purchase from Zappos often and wanted to warn potential purchasers they will not be getting the shoes they expect and the customer service from Dr. Martens is not the same as the past. Simply said, if you re expecting the legendary Dr. Martens, they no longer exist. Dr. Martens was purchased by private equity conglomerate Permira in late 2013. Permira is cashing in by marketing the legend and delivering a cheaper, lower quality product. As a 20+ year daily wear of Dr Martens, the new Dr Martens are of noticeably lesser quality and customer service is typical of conglomerates (i.e., pathetic). Purchased 2 pairs (boots and wingtips) at a Dr. Martens store recently, spending well over $400. They were a bit tight in the store, but knew Dr. Martens need to be broken in . Wore boots to car and shoes to work the next day for 3 hours until the blisters appeared. Got looking at shoes and realized the salesperson had provided me with a size smaller than I requested (same on boots). Both the shop and corporate response was, too bad, you wore them, they can t be exchanged . I can think of any number of lesser quality retail companies that would have exchanged these items without question. The sting is even greater since their own salesperson had a big hand in this transaction (personal lesson learned to be more careful: you are definitely on your own). I have always justified spending much more on Dr Martens because they last forever, they are extremely comfortable, and customer service was out of this world. However if you think you re buying that legend, you re not. You re paying a lot for just average shoes from a company cashing in on a name. I use to say proudly Dr. Martens are the only shoes anyone should own. I m very sad that I can no longer make this statement. There are $400 worth of new Dr Martens sitting in a closet. There are a pair of 16 year old Dr. Martens on my feet. I was looking to replace the legends because the treads on the sole had worn down a bit and learned a hard lesson: they don t make Dr. Martens anymore and Dr. Martens could care less about its customers. Here s hoping the soles on the real Dr. Martens last a long time.
