Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
These are a pathetic imitation of what once was a decent pair of denim jeans. Levis has outsourced their production to numerous sweat shops where jeans are fabricated using light weight denim materials that develop holes in them with just a year or so of normal wear. You would think they would at least allow the consumer to get a pair of the originals with real heavy denim but they have lost touch with the original users of their product. The rustler line of jeans from Walmart is actually a better pair of pants at a quarter of the price.

Junk !!
My wife bought me three pair and every one fits differently and in various states of poor quality. Also the pockets are "shorter" so when you are in the sitting position, what ever is in your front pocket seems to be grinding on your upper thigh.
Very uncomfortable. Returned them !!
I have e-mailed L.S. and they could care less. No response !! Pretty much, take it or leave it !!
I WILL NEVER BUY LEVI'S AGAIN.

Again (2 for 2) defective merchandise. Side seams do not set properly on sides of legs; they curve inwards! Your service is great, but poor quality from supplier is a killer. It seems I can no longer trust the brand. I will have to go to a store to determine whether you just got a bad shipment from Levi's Lesotho plant, or Levi's will
lose another loyal lifetime customer. I have 3 pairs to replace and I cannot believe the difficulty.

After 40 years wearing Levis, I am switching brands! The fit of 505's has changed and the quality is very poor!

Really disappointed, the stitching is totally mismatched and on looking closer found they were made in Nicaragua. If I had not already pre-washed them I would have returned them. I am not sure the Levi quality will be there. Very obvious.

"Cut from the best cloth.
Crafted with expert care.
Designed for the long haul".
This is the slogan from Levi's corporate web site. I am a "long haul" user of Levi products and lately the quality has changed dramatically to the point that the slogan should also be changed to read:
"Cut from a cheaper, thinner cloth than the usual stock.
Crafted by experts in planned obsolecence.
Designed to last not nearly as long as the original Levi product which means increased profits from increased sales to replace those cheaply made products."
Details: In December 2013 I ordered and received two pair of Levi's 505s. I've been getting the same style for more than 15 years and was always satisified with the fit and finish of the product. These two new pairs (made in Lesotho) were immediately suspect. The seat of the pants rode higher and the pocket liners were not as long (my Bic pen and comb stuck out the top of the pocket and could be seen). I decided that it was not enough to send back so I wore the jeans. After the second wash I was surprised to see the belt loop detached from the material of the jeans on both sides. It appears that the material of the jeans was too thin to hold the stitching of the belt loop. Zappos sent immediate replacement (Bravo, Zappos!) and then had I the same issue with the second pair. The replacement 505s (made in Mexico) fit like the original 505s, but I noticed today that the belt loops on the sides is hanging on by a thread (apparently due to thin material of pants). Does Levi's have a bonus plan for employees for cheapening products which would save money in manufacturing and cause increased sales due to higher rate of customer replacing product?

These are completely different jeans than the old 505s. It's not just a name change. These are thin denim like women's jeans.

when you order your size you never know what you are going to get. 34 waist maybe, 35 or 33 . . . 30. For the inseam maybe 32 or 29. These pants were marked correctly but not the right size. Never happened until they started making them where they're making them now. You're better off going to a store to try them on, unless you like returning stuff. Been wearing Levis 50+ years.

I have a pair of 505s says made in Canada on the label. They must be between 20-25 years old. These for sale here on Zappos are imported of cheap factory standards (made in Bangladesh). My brother let me check out a pair of these new imported 505s. Wow... all I can say is a lot of people writing glowing reviews about these pants have no idea what cheapo quality these pants are nowadays. The ones I still own are a 1/4 century old, still fit me, but most importantly, they have not worn out, torn, or ripped and I've used them extensively for work and I work in the manual trades. Sadly, most don't have anything to compare the new imported Levis to in terms of quality and think they are getting a deal.

I ordered 5 pairs of 505's, (2)35X32 rinse, (2)36x32 rinse, (1)35x32 medium stonewash (I wanted dark stonewash but Zappos was out of the color in the requested size). In reading reviews I was led to believe that the rinse jeans would run large and shrink with time. I thought that if I ordered a pair of the stone wash in a 35 waist I would get a more accurate feel of what properly washed 35's would fit like. What I found was fits all over the board. The 36 rinse jeans were so big I was afraid they would never "shrink to fit" as described by others. The 35's were a conservative 2 1/2" smaller in the waist than the 36's. The only ones that fit were the 35 stonewashed, which seemed true to size but I didn't like the finish as I prefer a darker jean. Anyway, it ended up being a frustrating experience and all 5 pairs went back. It is unbelievable that the cut of these jeans vary so widely. There was even significant variation in jeans listed as the same waist. It was so much that I looked to see if they were manufactured in different countries, but all were made in Mexico, so that was not the issue. I love a pair of Levis that fit so I guess I will schlep off to the nearest mall and try and find pairs that actually fit.

The new 505 is not the 505 we knew and loved. Thin fabric with elastic, cheap fittings, sloppy fit. Deserves zero stars. Buyer beware.

Sadly, they haven't figured out how to prevent dark stains where the stonewashing didn't work - particularly in the private areas.

If you are like me and have worn Levi 505s for decades, you are probably reading this after receiving your latest purchase and discovering the change in fit and material. The Levi company is either doing so well it doesn't care if it disappoints longtime customers or it is doing so poorly that it is willing to put its label on an inferior product to cut costs. While always overpriced, my Levi's were comfortable and long lasting. Still overpriced, but the 505s now sit lower and are larger through the waist and made in a lighter, cheaper fabric. Sadly, it's goodby Levi's.

Ordered the Levi 505 straight fit jeans in the "static" wash to take on an upcoming trip. Received 514 slim fit green corduroy pants, instead. Bummer.

Sad...trading on the iconic brand. Fabric weird, fit even worse, and they have cut belt loops from 7 to 5 so your belt rides in the back above the pants. Quality has been slashed to sell at SAMs and Costco. This will work for a short time, I have been wearing Levi's for 50 plus years and this is my last pair. I would have returned them but all of these changes were not evident until you had worn them for a couple hours...so off to Goodwill they go.

Catalog sent out a returned damaged pant. Side elastic was ripped loose. All tags were CLEAR TAPED BACK ON (WOW how unprofessional). Catalog did send out a replacement, second day.

My husband is handicap and is in a Power chair all
the time.
We always like the Dockers pants because the were
always neat looking and looked nice on.
Docker used to fit and now the legs are much fuller and looks so baggy.
