They feel good but are not nearly the shoe as the previous 926 & 927 models. Hope they wear better that other reviews are reporting.

Preferred the original style for fit as I have a very wide toe box. But saying that, these are extremely comfortable first time wearing. I will buy again.

It's good. A little stiff at first - but once broken in, a good walking shoe. Beware - you will look like a complete dork if you wear these. Super clunky and orthopedic looking.

These are flat out the best walking/ general use shoes in memory and the best New Balance model for heavy people. I'm 300+ pounds and devastate lesser New Balance trainers. The Stiff heal striker really works to reduce fatigue on long walks as the muscles in the foot have to do far less work to keep the foot stable. It is very noticeable as I walk several miles per day. I like the fact that they have a "producty" appearance also and are somewhat geometric. I don't like the hyper-organic shapes of some of the shoes on the market today. Bottom line is that these shoes are very comfortable and my feet are less fatigued/ sore after my long walks, despite my gargantuan heft.

Purchased for my spouse, he is very pleased with them, good support, better shoe than the average athletic type shoe. He wears them for walking outdoors daily.

It fit good but a bit stiff solid arch and sole color more "gray" than I thought it would be judging from picture. All in all a solid shoe but pricey.

I am tall and weigh 220 lbs. I walk on hard pavement (to my office in Manhattan) so I need a shoe with a robust sole. This is it. Re the arch support - to be frank, I rely on an insert by Danner and suggest you do the same, if that is your issue.

Seemed like a good buy; however, this pair of shoes is not the same as the 927's I own. They fit ok but I seem to have heel pain after wearing them for several hours.

While I am glad New Balance came out with a 6E size for this shoe and it is comfortable more work needs to be done. 1: Straps need to be longer and thicker for both comfort and durability, mine are showing wear after less then two months. 2: Tongue is too narrow and short. Fix these two areas and this will be the best shoe for the price on the market.

The only shoe I've found wide enough to accomodate my 6E foot which I can also wear at work.

I posted an initial comment and was greatly complimentary of this MW928. Having now worn them outside for a mile or two I am disappointed in the hard rubber of the sole. I dug out my old NB walker and the rubber was much more absorbent. I gave away another pair of those old ones because of the unyielding rubber soles. I guess I'm stuck with these. I will not recommend this shoe to friends.

These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn! I am tough on shoes and I seldom find shoes that don't hurt my feet, knees and legs. These are excellent shoes! I bought New Balance hiking shoes 5 years ago, put hundreds of them, and still wore them daily because the newer models are not as comfortable. These shoes have replaced those, and I am going to buy another pair to keep in case these ever wear out.

I have to agree these are not worth the money and no longer the quality once associated with NB. I am on my third pair of these in a year. I have yet to find another shoe to replace this. However, these are also the ONLY pair of shoes that actually fit properly and feel good. I replace the insoles and generally the shoes end up separating between top and bottom, which has been the case on two pair this year. I purchase the grey style, which could be part of the problem. I don't mind paying for better quality, but I am not pleased having to spend so much per year for normal use walking shoes.

The New Balance 927 wide widths were very comfortable and supportive shoes with plenty of room for wide toes. This 928 has a very uncomfortable lining, very hard materials, and no room for toes and forefoot even in the wide width.

I have been buying this model for years. The last pair did not fit correctly in the right, small toe and created a corn. For the money, I'm not happy this time. Be sure you are happy with these before you wear them outside.

One of the most supportive shoes ever. Great for "motion control." Unfortunately lots of glue was visible on the soles. Possibly only the pair I received.

Not the comfort I expected for the money spent on the shoes. I replaced the insole which did help some however, the longer I stand on my feet at work the more uncomfortable the shoes become.

I stopped buying New Balance about 10 years ago because the fronts were always narrow. It did not matter whether the size was EEEE, EEEEE or 6E, they all felt the same. I decided to try them again. If I do buy them again, I will order at least one size larger.

This shoe fit well and wore comfortably but only lasted six months of daily wear. My past two purchases of this shoe from Zappos have lasted at least a year each. I'm distressed that the materials used to make this pair of shoes pulled apart so quickly. I have short wide feet. I don't mind paying for quality shoes but six months of use is not a quality shoe.

I hate to love these shoes. I have worn New Balance for 30 some years, and like some other reviewers, feel New Balance's quality has declined in the past few years. The first pair of these shoes that I ordered lasted eight months; initially the sole separated from the leather in front, followed by entire sewn seams unraveling. I looked far and wide for a replacement in other brands, but I simply cannot find equal comfort and support. Hence I hate to love these shoes I just ordered a second pair. They likely will not last either, but I will enjoy them while they do. I dearly miss the old New Balance shoes and hope their quality control returns to their old standard.

My third pair of New Balance 928s just bit the dust after a year with holes in the soles. But the shoelaces are like new.

Inside the right shoe toe box there was a ridge in the seam. It rubbed on the big toe area. Had to return the shoes. My wife had the same thing happen recently on a pair of women's New Balance walking shoes. Concerned that New Balance quality is slipping.

I absolutely agree with the person's review that starts out "what a big mistake..." Here's what New Balance has done 1. A few years ago they changed their width system. What used to be a 4E is now a 6e. If you measure across the bottom of the old men's 9 1/2 927 4E at its widest point, it's 4 5/8" wide. On the 928 6E it's only 4 1/2" wide. While that may not seem like much - for us who need the true 4E 4 5/8" for better comfort it makes a big difference. 2. They no longer stitch the 928's uppers to the sole - they're glued. And just wearing them when I water my lawn causes them to separate and instantly become worthless. I took the first pair that did this back to the place I bought them and they reglued them which separated again after only a few weeks. It also happened again on the next pair I bought and, since both pairs had some wear on them the store wouldn't even consider replacement or even sending them back to New Balance. 3. As the other person noted, the 928's are definitely not as comfortable as the 927's and they don't make the 927's anymore. I have not found another shoe company that makes a sneaker of this style in a width I can wear. It would certainly be nice if there was one.

This is the 2nd pair I've purchased and "the same thing" the front lip of the sole became detached on both left and right. I re-glued them but at this price this ought not happen. I've purchased earlier models 926, 927 (I think that's the numbers) that had more comfort and didn't delaminate like these. I'm done. New Balance has lost me as a customer.

Disappointing. While the shoes fit well, accommodating a high instep (and I applaud New Balance for providing a wide range of widths), there is less sole cushioning and stability than the MW927 that this shoe replaces. The MW927 was already a significant downgrade from the MW926 that it replaced. New Balance quality has taken big steps downhill twice now in this line of shoes, while prices continue to increase. To top it off, these shoes creak and squeak when you walk in them.
