I've been wearing this shoe for perhaps ten years - long time. Value for price is good. Fits true to size. Very comfortable for the first six months or so. If you hike a lot, the cushioning - like any running shoe - will degrade over a year or so. The interior back heel is make of synthetic fabric and foam - that wears out quickly for me. Usually I order a new pair yearly and use the older ones for mud work.

These are great shoes and well-made. I went for years with Keens and Merrils, but feel the build on them has dropped in quality, so I'm trying these. Be aware that run narrow and a bit small. I always wear 8s in Dr> Martens, Keens and Merrils, but I needed a 9 with these. the 8.5 was even a bit tight on the sides. The 9s are perfect.

The shoes are well made and met my expectations for a Vasque shoe. However, the shoe runs a little narrow and the shoe tongue bunches up on top of my foot. It's uncomfortable to wear.

I have owned other Vasque hikers so was fairly certain that the fit would be perfect. These shoes are very well made and are among the most comfortable shoes I own. And I expect to get a lot of wear from them before needing to replace them.

These are bombproof. They are robust and nicely constructed shoes that I expect to give me years of service. The gore tex was a must knowing these are heavier shoe ( not too heavy), and more insulated than most hikers. They truly feel more like a boot, than a shoe. Again, they should only get better with age.

I'm a Washington DC tour guide and do a lot of walking on a variety of paved and stone surfaces plus getting out in the rough as often as possible. I've had a brown pair of Vasque Mantra 2.0's for 4 years and they have been the perfect shoe. I've gone with a new pair of dark Mantra 2.0 GTX and they already feel like the perfect replacement. Laced up, they fit snug in the middle, providing the support and stability I like, yet the toe box has plenty of room. Relatively light for a firm, rugged shoe, they're also quite passable to wear in nice casual settings without looking as if I just hiked in off a mountain jungle trail. True, the material in the interior of the heel did wear quickly on the 2.0's but it didn't effect the fit or the feel. As far as cushioning, I wear and replace comfort insoles in all my shoes so it hasn't been an issue, even spending so much time on hard surfaces. I like the waterproof feature of the 2.0 GTX and just wish they made them in brown. I like the Mantra's so much I'll probably end up buying another pair of the brown 2.0's for a change.

Super comfort. Excellent arch support. LOVE the Gore-Tex. These keep my feet dry on wet trails. I am a woman and I bought these men’s pair because I wanted this color combination. I do have a women’s pair of Vasque as well and I love them just as much. I have put a lot of miles on them and they still look brand new. They wear extremely well and look like they came out of the box.

This is my son’s 5th pair of Mantras. He is 17 now. He loves them on and off trail and has worn them for 100s of miles backpacking. He wears them year around as his primary casual shoes as well.

I always buy waterproof hiking shoes due to using them every day to walk my two dogs. These were also nice looking, but not super exciting and having owned Vasque before, know they are good quality. I was surprised just how comfortable they were right out of the box. I did a two hour hike with them and my feet felt great after. I highly recommend these.

Great boot for work and hikes. 2nd pair for me and hope they keep the model going. Stitching and fabric held up better than my Red Wings.

Haven't had a chance to use these in wet weather, but they seem like they are up to the task (light hiking, trail walking).

These are comfortable shoes right out of the box. I wear these shoes to work for 11-12 hours a day. They are non-slip on any surface. These are all around great shoes. Your feet stay cool all day.

Fit perfectly right out of the box. Nice understated color. Very comfortable.

Heavy front end - very durable. Probably better for hiking than a trail running. Quality looks good.

Other reviews stated that this shoe was narrow, but I found that the medium was almost too spacious with athletic socks. The length was good and the cushioning very good.

These are good work shoes - not exactly stylish, but do not attract attention. I usually wear a size 13, but ended up getting a 12 in these because my feet are very narrow. But very comfortable shoes, durable - this is my second pair. The inside wears out faster than the outside, but have held up very well overall.

This is my second pair of these shoes. Fit is good. plenty of room for my orthotics. One of the few shoes I can wear all day without foot pain

These felt too narrow in the toe box with normal socks. I imagine with thicker socks they would be very uncomfortable.

Usually my ‘go to’ shoe for an exact width for my gradually increasing ‘C’ width, as I get older. I own a pair of shade leather hiking boots. Near bulletproof. First tennis shoe type hiking pair. All depends what socks you wear these days. All depends what country they are made in. Still a good shoe for the money.

These shoes are very wide and extremely hot. My feet sweat big time in them. The sole is very firm also, so I did not find them comfortable until I added a shoe insert. Not sure why I am keeping them actually, probably because I like their look and my favorite Merrell model is no longer made. I am in sales and I wear these shoes everyday. I might have to find a new shoe for shows, which include a lot of standing, as I think these will hurt my feet.

Its too bad they don't make a wide version. The color shown on the website does not accurately reflect what you see when you open the box.

The shoes looked awesome and very well built. Size seemed to be correct. Width was somewhat narrow. Unfortunately I had to return them they were way too tight across the top of my foot.
