The size and fit was exactly as expected. I typically wear a 9.5 and that's what I bought. They have been comfortable from the very start and I'm sure because they are good quality leather, they will only get more comfortable as they get worn in more. I like that they are true black with only a bit of 'ageing' so they can be dressed up or down.

The shaft is SO TALL!! At 5’9” I have long legs and never have a problem with shaft height but these hit mid knee, and the tongue for the back lacing hit right at my knee crease, making it super uncomfortable. What a shame. The shoe part fit like a dream.

This is a follow up to the review that I posted on December 14th. I received my replacement pair of Manchester boots in teak glaze and this time it only took one afternoon of wearing before the finish began to crack and the leather began peeling off in strips. I am so frustrated, because I really loved these boots and wanted to find a way to make them work. But the effects do not look like normal wear and tear or even distressed leather - it looks instead like I am wearing defective leather. So they are going back for a refund. As always, thanks to Zappos for stellar customer service.

These were a bit stiff at first. There is a tongue that hits at the back of the knee that takes some getting used to. The look is AMAZING, I get complements single every time I ware these. They are breaking in well and becoming comfortable. My last Bed-Stu boots have lasted me 10+ years and are still going strong. These boots are made so well and I expect them to last just as long.

These are superior quality & stunning boots! I’m 5’5” and have slim calves… these boots fit beautifully with lots of room! They are stylish, tall & super soft leather. Very comfortable to wear and high quality. These are the first pair of knee high boots that I’ve bought that actually fit just under the knees! Shockingly accurate description… lol. I got my normal size of 7.5 in boots and they fit beautifully! I love these boots. Came back and got a 2 pair in distressed tan colored leather.

You can not go wrong with This Bedstu . I’m a big fan of Bedstu & Born . This boots are so to the point . I ordered wide calf before but returned them . Thank God Zappos customers service worked things out with me with much love , patience & respect . They always always incredible very Proffessional . Upon receiving this pair I was over the moon . They fit do well great quality worth the price . Soft touch . I’m good to go though I wish they could re- stock more of Bedstu knee length boots as most have run out of stock . I m usually 6.5 but went half size up got size 7 . Love & inlove with them . Thank you Zappos ur the best

These are gorgeous boots! Love the rustic/casual feel and the detail in the back. Run a little small in my opinion!

I purchased these for my wife as a Christmas present. She really likes them. The fit is great and they look beautiful on her.

These are very cool boots. The pictures do not show it but you can untie the back of the boot and roll the leather down a bit or a lot. These are very sturdy boots. It took me a couple of times to wear them to break them in but I love them!

Received these boots in the teak glaze as a birthday gift. I will start with the good, they're beautiful, sturdy and very well constructed. I am normally a 9.5 in boots and these were a 9 and definitely a half size too big still. I am returning these boots directly to Bed Stu because the glazed teak is defective and cracked within hours of wearing. Tragic! I will say that when I spoke to the customer service rep with Bed Stu she was very apologetic, polite, and willing to do a full exchange. So I will be receiving the Manchester RUSTIC teak in a 8.5 soon. They should really pull the glazed teak because they're defective.

Definitely leather boots. I loved them for that reason. They are more rugged than their pics (distressed look) where the brown shows through on the black boot, but I liked that. Real leather feel and look so they looked sharp. Narrow width on the upper part of the foot closer to the toes so I had to return them. Super sad they weren't a normal medium width. But overall, great craftsmanship, quality and look of the boot. Much more rugged than dressy so keep that in mind if you wanted something fancier.

I adore these boots. I ordered my usual size of 8.5 and they fit perfectly. Most Bed Stu's have goofy sizing but these were right on. Make note of the other reviews that suggest you need a thinner calf. This is true, I have always had trouble with boots because of my skinny calves, but these fit great. I am 5 foot 5 inches and they came up right to my knee. They are a bit of a challenge to get on, but it's totally worth the effort. Love my new Bed Stu boots!

I had to return the first pair and go up a half size. They run small.

I love the look, feel and quality of this boot. Following the advice of so many of the other reviewers I purchased a 1/2 size smaller and I'm glad I did. The length is good (I normally wear a 9 and purchased a 8 1/2), but the shoe is extremely narrow across the bunion area. I'm not sure I can even wear socks with these boots. I do not have a wide foot at all. I am trying to decide whether to return or put in some sort of stretching device.

I love the boot and hoped other reviews were overly harsh about the sizing. They weren't. And the height is a bit too high and I have long legs for a 5'3" woman. Too bad... LOVE the style.

Great rustic boot. Disappointed the color finish cracked off the first time I wore the boot. I am going to take them to a shoe repair and see what can be done. I don't believe that discoloration was to happen.

I loved the look and feel of these boots, but I ordered the largest size, a 42, and it fit more like a 41. Unfortunately, they don't go any bigger for my ginormous feet.

I could've felt awesome wearing these boots but they didn't hit the mark for me. First, the leather, although soft, was an ugly, blotchy color. Not even close to the image I saw online. I thought these boots were black but what I got looked like someone dropped bleach on them. Secondly, they are narrow in the toe box and a wide size isn't available. The side zipper helped but it was a struggle to get them on. The shaft is a nice height, up to the knee and they are a bit adjustable for narrower calves...but that was the only good part. They were hot lookin' and I would've paid the $300.00 (ouch) dollars but, as much as I wanted to love them, I decided to return.

This is a beautiful boot. The leather and distressed details are definitely my style. However, the boot felt crazy narrow. I actually have a pretty narrow foot, so this surprised me. If you have a larger "bunion bone" area, this boot will rub in all the wrong places. Sadly, I'm returning.

I loved these boots right out of the box. I ordered the Teak Glaze and found the fit perfect (I ordered half a size down, based on previous reviews). The only problem - after a second wearing I noticed that the leather had started to crack on the foot and that patches were missing, showing what looked like a light colored material beneath. I cannot imagine leather so paper thin (perhaps just the glaze came off?) and I am wondering if this is indeed defective, as a previous reviewer noted regarding this color. Buyer beware. As always, Zappos was fantastic, offering to send a replacement overnight and accepting the original in return. I optimistically asked for the glazed teak again - hope the problem will not repeat, but if it does, I will update this post.

great looking boot but very stiff and narrow. leather is very nice but too stiff and hard around the toes.

I really wanted to love these boots. They were too narrow in the foot, and so loose in the calves that they looked funny. I tried to fix them by adjusting the laces, but that only created a bulge in the calf area that looked unnatural. I am returning them tomorrow. The color however is beautiful.

I love the style of these boots, and they are comfortable, but the teak glaze color, do not purchase. The glaze on these boots is defective and started cracking and peeling off in large pieces only after wearing twice. I have talked with Bed Stu and they were very helpful and aware of the issue and have pulled this color from their line. I am not sure why Zappos is still offering this color. The Bed Stu website has a color similar, teak rustic, which is not the glaze. Zappos was also very helpful and willing to take the boots back with a full refund. I wear a standard size 9 and these boots were a little big, the 8½ fit perfectly.

Loved the boots and the way they fit, but they are a very poor quality. Wore the boots for a short afternoon and the leather peeled apart like skin after a bad sunburn. I love boots after a little bit worn, but this was not the case.
