I finally decided to keep these in a size 9, 1/2 size up, and am happy with that size. I think the toe area is not as wide as the original XR Missions, although I called Salomon and was told they have not changed at all. I like the black sole and laces of the papaya color scheme with just purple and orange added. It seems fairly neutral and is fun.

I love the look of this shoe, and even though they were too big, they felt really comfortable. I am a fitness instructor, personal trainer, and RN, and have had plantar fasciitis for the past 4 years off and on. If the shoe isn't comfortable right out of the box, I won't wear it. I wear a 12 in Asics and didn't listen to those who said to order down a size - the 12 was a little roomy. I will reorder in a size 11, thanks to the free shipping both ways and excellent customer service and ease of returns. Thanks Zappos!

These are the best shoes ever. I have them in three colors and each time I wear them I get compliments from both men and woman. They want to know specifics like where I got them and are they comfortable etc.

I'm a nurse that works 12 hour shifts. I got these shoes one evening, and I wore them the next day to work. I've been wearing then EVER SINCE!!! I've never had one bit of discomfort!! These are the best, most comfortable shoes I've ever had. And I won't lie, I bought them for the colors!! I get lots of compliments, as they are very eye catching. I want to get another pair in a different color!! I highly recommend these shoes!!

Great supportive sneakers. I'm a vet tech and these are awesome, as my feet tend to swell during the day a bit. These shoes have a nice roomy toe box. True to size. Durable.

Fit perfectly right out of the box. Great arch support and the mess fabric over the toes doesn't pinch your tootsies. I love this shoe. I ordered a half size larger than I wear in a dress shoe and that was just right.

Hurray. After trying tons of other options including two other styles from the same company, these are a perfect fit. Gave it 4 on style because I liked the colors of some others better but the fit of these is a win. The inner sole was not as good as in some other Salomon shoes I have so I switched it.

This is my second pair of Salomons. I walk quite a bit and the last pair stood up very well. This model seems to have even more technology built in to support the foot, which is very important to me. My foot is in a natural position and withstands hours of walking without discomfort.

I love my Salomon XR's. I've been wearing them for years and was so happy to find them at Zappos. I am a walker and love the extra grid on the bottom if I go off on our local trails. They are wide for my "square toes." As far as the way they lace up they are easy to tighten and you get used to tucking the little end up in the place where it goes. Love the many color choices.

True to size, roomy toe box, great support, and light weight. The colors speak for themselves! I will be buying another pair soon.

As a lifelong Nike devotee, I gave these a shot in the dark and was very pleasantly surprised. SUPER comfortable and supportive, and cute to boot!!

These are my first pair of Salamon's. I love them! They are very comfortable for any sort of activity you do. Your feet sit a little lower in the shoe than in others. The laces are also a little tricky at first but are easy once you get to know the shoe.

I use these as walking shoes, five miles a day and they are truly perfect. They are comfortable, not"cushiony" which is good as I need more structure for long walks. I do not find them to be over-sized, I wear my exact size. I have wide feet and they are perfectly accommodating. I cannot speak to the arch support as I always use my own Walking Company insoles.

I love these shoes. They're comfortable and give me great support. I bought them in part because they don't weigh a lot and I was flying out for a 10 day vacation, and didn't want heavy luggage. These shoes quickly became my favorites!

These shoes are great. I wear them during PT, and they are great for outdoor running in the mountains. The ease of the laces, make for quick on and off. Plenty of width, toes can wiggle. Get compliments on these shoes a lot!

I love Salomon! These XR Missions are perfect for what I do on the road or in the gym. They are extremely comfortable, provide perfect stability, and has plenty of toe room. I get so many people commenting on the great colors. My only complaint is the sup-par insoles. Had to replace with insoles that can give me the proper support I need. Otherwise, I love them!

These are the 2nd pair of shoes I've bought in this style (just a different color). I am not a runner, but work in the medical field and am up on my feet a lot of the day. These shoes feel great and fit nicely, but I do suggest to go down 1/2 size. I get lots of compliments on the fun colors of these Salomons!

I was looking for a new shoe for a vacation that involved a lot of walking so I came across this unique shoe and saw it got a lot of great reviews and thought I should take a chance. And I am so happy with this shoe! I love it. I've gotten so many compliments on the colors - I got the aqua, orange and greenish yellow color. They fit my feet perfectly. I'm a rather large person who used to be very athletic and needed a shoe for my kind of wide feet. These shoes from day 1 have never hurt or became uncomfortable in any way. I had lots of room in the front and can wear thin or thick socks. I love that I don't have to tie these and can just slip them on and go! I would like to get them in another color. I highly recommend this shoe to anyone. A definite win for me and for this shoe! I also was calling Zappos regarding a different order and the girl I spoke to said that she noticed I had bought this shoe and asked how it was working for me. I was actually trying to decide on these Mizunos I had bought (also on Zappos) and she said she had this exact Salomon shoe and loves them. So if you're not sure, call them up and they are super nice and willing to help however they can. My shopping experiences with Zappos has always been positive for the last 10 years. Thanks Zappos! (Oh, and I kept the Mizunos and gave them to my mom who loves them!)

I love these shoes. Ordered a half size smaller than usual as suggested by other reviewers...which worked perfectly for me. Great support, traction and look great. Will definitely purchase Salomon's again.

With 200+ reviews and a 5 star rating, you hardly need another rave review from a new Salomon fan - but these shoes are amazing. My feet are fairly flat, wider in front and narrower at the heel - which can make finding the right athletic shoe a challenge. I've had hip, knee and recently lower back surgery and I feel amazing after a day full of exercise/running errands with these on. Buying my second pair now. Best athletic shoe I've ever purchased; hands down.

After years wearing all different brands of running shoes (first Asics, then Reebok, lastly Nike) I finally decided it was time to hunker down and do my research to find the best shoe. I don't run much anymore, only trail running from time to time so initially I wanted a true walking shoe. I quickly found out that the options for "walking" shoes was limited so I looked into trail-running since I love to hike and venture off the beaten trail. I read some reviews on the Salomon XR Mission and what caught my eye was that all said there was lots of room in the toe box area and a super cushiony sole for the heel (which is totally true!) So after hiking in them for 2.5 hours I found myself critically reviewing my shoes. I love the lace system - it reminded me of my snowboard boots; the "pulley" system that never comes untied or loose when walking or running and the secret spot to hide the remainder of your lace in the tongue of the shoe. The huge sole provided super cushion support for my heels. The mesh/ material provided comfort and my feet never felt overheated there is lots of air circulating. It has really great ankle support for when you are running or walking over uneven terrain. And lastly the grip of the sole of the shoe was perfect for mixed terrain and I never felt uneasy about walking down a steep hill and slipping (also no rocks ever got stuck in my shoes!). They have cute colors and I now realized that my dad and I have the same shoes (we both have very similar feet-skinny narrow high arch). I would recommend a half size larger than normal shoe (I normally wear a size 7 but in running shoes 7.5) in order for your foot to move forward without jamming your toes on the front of the shoe. I would highly recommend these shoes to anyone who wants an all around excellent trail-running/ light hiking shoe.

Great sneaker. Solid feel, great support. Use to walk my two Greyhounds every morning. Well worth the cost. You can't beat Zappos service. It's not your average Internet store. Look forward to dealing with Zappos on a regular basis.

These are absolutely amazing! I am on here looking at other colors to purchase after about three months of wearing these shoes for daily speed walking, as well as an additional 2-4 hours of running errands around town. I have wide, flatish feet and am traditionally hard on my shoes and these are holding up extremely well. They run true to size. I always get compliments - I love the bright colors!

This is my third pair of this exact shoe! I just keep buying it over and over and probably will until they stop making it. Very comfortable and I love not having to tie laces! Who has time for that?
