I have hypermobility and thus very flexible feet, so I've been having trouble with arch pain, heel pain, and ball of foot pain (sesamoiditis). My arches are pretty low and I have Morton's toe (short big toe, bulges a little to the side). In the hopes of avoiding $400 custom insoles, I ordered five pairs of orthotic inserts to compare at once. I specifically needed metatarsal support in addition to arch support and cushioning. Previously tried inserts included the green Superfeet (horribly hard on my arches), Powerstep original (okay, no cushioning in ball of foot), and Prothotics Motion Control (great in my hiking boots, too thick otherwise). -Vionic Orthaheel Oh Shock Absorber This insert had a moderately high arch -- okay, but a little high for me. Some support for the metatarsals but it comes in at a weird angle. -Vionic Orthaheel Dress Slim fit I chose this insert for a dress shoe, but the ball of foot pad conflicted with an existing pad in the dress shoes. Otherwise, good arch support and ball of foot cushioning. -Spenco Polysorb Crosstrainer (recommended by my Podiatrist) The heel cushion in these was so thick that I couldn't get my foot into the shoe securely--even in my tennis shoes, my heel was far too high in the shoe and kept sliding out, even with the laces tied tightly. -Spenco Total Support for Her I decided to go with these, but the pair that Zappos sent was dirty, as though someone had clearly worn them with filthy feet. Thankfully Zappos is exchanging, but this is kinda lame. I chose these because of the low, firm arch support and cushioning in the forefoot. There is a metatarsal pad, but it's not huge so I don't notice it. One question is whether it allows my big toe to flex enough during walking. When I make a conscious effort at it, it's better -- maybe have to break them in a little? -Aetrex Lynco Casual Women's 625 (from Amazon since Zappos doesn't carry this) The metatarsal support in these was so high that I felt like I was walking on an egg. Something about the material didn't give enough and was causing nerve pain in my arch.

Great arch support for high heels. This won't work for a flat. Love that it ends right before the toes so you can use this for peep toe heels. It is narrow enough to fit into my boots. Only con I can note is that depending on the shoe, it may get tight once the insert is in because of the increased arch support. Works great for boots that have a bit of give on the top of the foot. Makes a noticeable difference in comfort as soon as you put it on.

This fits nicely in dress shoes and offers some cushioning and slight arch support - not as high an arch as the thong sandals though. The black stamped Orthaheel logo on the heel rubs off after one wearing and they need to be aired out when you open the package due to the strong odor of the composition material they are made from. I gave four stars because the arch could be higher.

LOVE these inserts. I have really high arches and have never had orthotics other than custom made orthotics that have supported my arches. These have excellent arch support and are soft. They take a few hours to get used to. The nice thing is they fit in all my shoes - riding boots, heels, and casual shoes. Much cheaper than having another pair of orthotics made that only work for one type of shoe!

Do not hesitate. I have a pair of Orthaheel flip flops and dreaded going into fall and winter thinking I'd go back to aching feet and knees. These inserts are the best! I will never be without them again!

I tried a bunch of 3/4 length insoles to put in my flats that don't have removable footbeds, so I'm writing this review to hopefully spare someone else the pain of returning half a dozen insoles...these are more of a cushion than an insole. They have 0 arch support or heel support but they're a nice cushy sole. Not what I was looking for at all.

Orthaheel makes the best orthotics I've ever used. They've made a huge difference in improving foot, hip, and lower back aches and pains. What I do not like is the inner edge blue shows with sandals. A solid black or tan would be a better choice.

These work great with my Rothy's flats. I was starting to develop symptoms of plantar fasciitis, probably from wearing shoes like Rothy's and Toms with no arch support, so rather than buy all new shoes, I tried this insert. It's slim enough to fit nicely in any shoe and I didn't even have to trim them. I've noticed that I don't have the PF symptoms as much since I started using them!

This is a great insert for shoes that are your actual size. It made my boots feel slightly snugger but just slightly. If you are looking for a fully supportive insert, this is not the right choice. However, it should work with shoes your actual size unlike most orthotics that require sizing up. I’m a teacher and was on my feet all day w boots w a 2 inch heel which is modest but for all day in the trenches that’s enough to cause me to ache after 8 hours. My feet feel good right now!

I am a ballet flat junky; there, I said it. I wanted a little extra support on days that I would be running around and constantly on my feet. These are perfect. They fit my Tieks, Rothy, and Bloch flats. So slender that my shoes fit well--I don't notice them; however, my feet, ankles, and knees do and they feel great. Buying more.

These are the best! Like they say, you get what you pay for and I am pleasantly pleased! The Orthaheel Technology Dress Slimfit is the best orthotic I have found. I m not sure why another purchaser said they do not work with flats. That was my primary reason for purchasing them. I have many pairs of ballet flats and flat dress shoes from Zappos and Garnet Hill and this orthotic fits every pair. I have to admit (as another purchaser mentioned) they do have a horrid smell when you first open them. It took about three weeks to really rid the orthotic of the smell but I am delighted that I kept them. After the smell wore away, I placed them in flat dress shoes and that made an obvious difference in comfort as I wore them. I think the surface, which feels a tad like very smooth suede, is soft and very comfortable. I do not have much of an arch, however, when I use these orthotics they feel soft and my entire feet feel much better with the arch support. I did buy two of other brands from Zappos to compare and while they may not compare to the fit and comfort of an Orthaheel, they can certainly be used in a numerous other types of shoes including my running shoes. The others were a half fit orthotic and a fit orthotic. Do not hesitate to buy a pair or even a couple of pairs. I am back to buy a couple more myself! Enjoy!

After trying different styles of Orthaheel inserts, I finally found exactly what I was looking for in these. These work great in my ballet flats, equally as well in my wedge heels, and just as good for extra support in my retro style sneakers that don't have much support to begin with. These are slim, didn't need to be trimmed, and despite their thinness, really made a difference in my comfort level in all types of shoes. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again!

Orthoheel sandals have saved my life but I have yet to find a pair of shoes that fit properly or are not ugly. Thank goodness for Zappos return policy.
Spent hundreds of dollars for custom orthotics to treat my plantars fasciitis and ended up with nerve damage in my foot.
I use these dress slimfit insoles in most of my store bought shoes and they work great! So now I have stylish shoes and I can walk too. I use the athletic insoles for my sneaks and have never been more comfortable.
Thank you Orthheel.

I really like these. They are super comfortable. I stuck them in a Worishofer that had 1 7/8 height but I am extremely flat footed so this helped out a lot. I wore it all day around the mall. I have stuck them in 3 inch Tory Burch wedges but read that anything over three inches is not recommended for this orthotic. It's really comfortable but I used a shoe that was already comfortable to begin with. Use Super feet 3/4 for anything higher.

I bought these to use in my dress Ted Baker Oxfords (also purchased from Zappos!) and they are a perfect fit. My feet were kind of swimming around in the shoe, and with thin socks, they would sort of shift every time I took a step. With these soles in, not only does it fill out the shoe the perfect amount, but the suede and rubber layer between your foot and the actual shoe makes sure there is no awkward movement.

I use these in my Nike athletic shoes that I wear to work. I stand for 10 hours a day. They also fit in my adidas shoes that I wear on my days off. They really help make my shoes more comfortable.

These are amazing! I can now wear flatter or low profile shoes and have arch support. These are things and I've even been able to put them in driving loafers. They don't have the arch support of a full insert, but give you pretty good support overall with a flatter shoe.

The Vionic dress Slimfit insert is much thinner than their regular inserts, but they fit in all of my dress shoes and boots. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of arch and heel support since they are soft and pretty flexible. I have bought every insole on the market from drug stores and in shoe stores and this is far superior over the 20 pairs that I have purchased before. I only have one pair of these so I transfer them from one pair of shoes to another, so I will likely buy at least one more pair. They make some of my inexpensive non-orthotic shoes feel very supportive and comfortable.

I bought these as I have fallen arches/flat feet and wanted to wear with ballet flats. They made the ballet flats very comfortable - like slippers. I had to order a 1/2 size larger for the shoes in order to accommodate these inserts. Love them!

These add the necessary arch support to shoes lacking it. I find them essential and very comfortable. I use them in all of my shoes. They are well made.

Love these and I can actually slip them into my Keen sandals for a little more arch support. I did need a size smaller than I originally thought. I wear an 8.5 shoe but like these in a small instead of the recommended medium that an 8.5 shoe technically is.

OK so in spite of the misinformation, this product is a 3/4 length shoe cushion for things like ballet flats. Not an arch support. It IS narrow enough to fit in B width flats. This product is floppy, like the removable insoles in most sneakers. For a ballet flat or the like, it might be a good thing to have, although the cushioning really is not so much in the ball of the foot. I would have kept if it was a full length cushion, but the medium size (I am a size 10) is only 8.5 " long (and I am sure they aren't small because the product is stamped medium on the reverse side) and there was a full inch to the end of the shoe and it felt funny where the insert ended.

Tieks owners, keep reading.... I have freakishly high arches so the arch support was not sufficient for me. That being said, these are the ONLY inserts I have found that make my Tieks wearable! Thanks to these inserts (and the trim-to-fit ProFoot Toe Pouches), my Tieks are comfortable all day, whereas before, I was dying to take them off after about an hour. Thank you, Vionics & Zappos, for giving my shoes new life! For reference, my Tieks are a sz 8, so I ordered these inserts in small.

Good arch support...not as good as the 'Active' model but still better than any other insert I have found. They fit perfectly in a pair of Taos boots that had NO arch support.
