I am quite pleased with these comfortable, but funky shoes. They have received many compliments. They are a dressy version of sneakers!

Theses are not your typical Danskos. If you rely upon Danskos for excellent orthotics and rocker bottom propulsion, these will not quite fit the bill. The sole feels heavy and slaps the floor like a court shoe. However, if you simply need a cute, supportive sneaker and not the classic Dansko feel, these might just do it.

What do you want first? The good news or the bed news? I've got 'em both. Actually, I've got the good, the bad, and the ugly. First, the good news: These shoes are absolutely adorable. You will smile every time you look at them. I bought them in the Green Hawaii print, which reminds me of freshly mowed grass. I also bought them in khaki, for days when I'm feeling a bit more subdued, but will still feel twinkly by dint of the striped footbed/lining. These shoes will make you think you're still a spring chicken, even if you're not. And if you're a spring chicken, you'll feel springy. Now, the bad news: They hurt. Or at least they hurt me. I didn't know this when I went ahead and ordered a second pair (from a site that rhymes with "Me Say"). I wore them out and about, sans socks, on a usual jaunt around Central Park here in NYC, and by the time I got home my dogs were not just barking but whining. OW. The canvas just beneath the toes cut into my flesh, and the mary jane strap abraded my instep, and the heel rubbed my heel raw. This caused me to go to the drug store and outfit myself with very cute Band-Aids by Cynthia Rowley. And finally, the ugly: Oh. Just those blisters. Some good news, though, maybe: Because I love these so much, I went ahead and ordered spunky little "ped" type socks online, in rather cute varieties. Some with stripes, some with flowers. I went all nuts and bought, um, 15 pair(s). I wore the shoes with the socks the other day, and I think that may have solved the problem. This is all right, but I really wish I were able to wear these without socks. I'm hoping they stretch out a little. They're super cute. But my blisters, not so.

I like Dansko. These shoes are really cute but after wearing them for two hours, the top begins to cut the top of the foot and they become uncomfortable to wear. I kept them anyway but am not getting much use out the shoes. Wish I had sent them back.

I wear Dansko shoes because of the wide toe box. Unfortunately, this style does not have a wide enough toe box, and I cannot wear it.

Disappointed! I've had Dansko shoes before and they were comfortable from the first moment I put them on. These gave me blisters on my heels within 2 hours. Canvas fabric was stiff and rubbed on my toes, arch, and heels. Look great, but I can't wear them.

I will wear clunky shoes if they are comfortable. I will wear great shoes even if they they don't fit well. But I can't wear clunky, uncomfortable shoes. These do not fit well. They were too wide. Very heavy, and ugly on my feet. The sole is hard, no cushioning in the footbed either. I suspect the rubberized cloth will become clammy.

This style of Dansko is great for people like me with horrible feet. After surgeries on both feet, this is the only shoe I can wear other than athletic shoes. I have three pair of this style. Great support, plenty of room in toe box for medium width. My podiatrist recommends Dansko. Zappos service can not be beat. Thanks guys for letting me return so many shoes. Love your website!

I love these shoes. They may seem heavy when picking them up by hand, but on the feet they enable me to walk far distances and are my go-to shoes when I have a long day planned. The canvas, stiff at first does not hinder comfort, and the canvas softens quickly. Regarding size: I find that Dansko best fit very roomy and this shoe is true-to-size for Dansko's brand.

This has quickly risen to the top of my go-to list. I waited to write a review because when I got them I was afraid they'd be too heavy or rub my heel. I wear an 8 and ordered the 39. If this shoe didn't have a Mary-Jane strap, it would be a tad too big, but the strap keeps it snug. It's crazy comfy, breathable, well made, looks cute with jeans.

This shoe is one of the few I've found that is hugely supportive, extremely comfortable, and pretty. I own four pairs in different colors. I wear a size 8 or 8.5, and the shoe is slightly larger and wider than my foot. It doesn't slip, however, and fills out completely when I wear socks.

I am so pleased with this choice of shoe! I have worn them almost everyday for the last five weeks as I was traveling in Europe. They walked me over big city streets, Old Town cobbles, groomed nature trails and less groomed forest trails. They have been great. When I got them via Zappos just before leaving I was excited; they were darling with jeans. But, I was not sure that the sizing was right (though I had gotten my normal 37). I was also concerned they might be too heavy for summer city walking, whether they would work without socks and whether the stiffness in the heel would leave me with blisters. I took them anyway. I could not have been happier. The sizing was right and that was clear once I found the proper adjustment for the band and relaxed my foot when walking. I got no blisters. I found them totally comfortable for long days of walking (which actually surprised me, I confess). When I got into warmer climates my feet got a bit hot and sweaty in them, but it was not a problem. (I have mostly been in temperatures between 50° and 80°; I have worn them with socks and without.) I think these shoes are great!

These are as comfortable as the brown and black leather ones I have in the same style and the fit is exactly the same. I am enjoying them as "summer shoes." They look nice with jeans, skirts, and dresses and are comfortable to walk in. I have a narrow foot and having the buckle makes it possible to get just the right fit. I wear a 37 in this; I'm about a 7.5-8 in other shoes.

This is the second pair of the Valerie Canvas I've purchased. They are very comfortable, and I've gotten lots of compliments on them too. They've faded over the summer - so if you purchase black, by August they might be brown canvas and black rubber, but the are still cute.

I LOVE these shoes! After touring DC, I realized I needed some good walking shoes for a trip to NYC, but I didn't want to plod around in sneakers, so I ordered these in black. They arrived the next day, and I have worn them almost every day since. The support is excellent. I have flat arches, and these give good support, plus, I can slip my orthotics into them for added support and the fit is still great. The shoes might seem to fit a little loosely around the ankles, but this is how they are intended to be. Whether I wear thin socks, thick socks, or trouser socks, I have no chafing, blisters, or other discomfort. Of course, standing and walking all day when you aren't used to it is going to be tiring/fatiguing no matter what, but these shoes by far improve that, and on ordinary days, when I just wear them around the house or out on errands, I feel like I could go all day. I use a shoe brush to whisk any dirt/debris off of the canvas, and they look good as new. I already want to get more in other colors.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever. Cute too - I'm so happy not to have to sacrifice style for comfort. I think I wore them for a week straight when I got them.

I think these shoes are adorable and I am sad to return them. I bought them for my trip to the Boston Marathon. I wanted something I could wear with shorts, pants or skirts and in all types of weather. The shoes seemed to fit great the first few times I wore them. However, after a long day of walking, the way the cut of the top of the shoe hit a spot on my foot and left a bruise and sore spot (but only on my right foot). I was unable to wear them the rest of the trip. I have other mary jane Danskos and they don't hit my foot the same way and I never have a problem like this no matter how long I am in them. Bummed because I think they are a really versatile shoe.

My second pair of this shoe. I love to run and wear heels. I also have plantar fascitis, so too much time doing either is hard on my feet. I wear these on the weekend, running errands, or days I'll be on my feet all day. Love the support and comfort.

This is undoubtedly the most comfortable shoe I've worn in years. It's not too dainty but comfort wins out every time!

Very comfy shoe with just the right amount of heel so as to help the feet. The curve of the sole makes me walk a bit funny but I will get the hang of it. Wearing a band aid on my heels while they break in, as they rub there a little.

Cute & comfortable shoe, my first pair of Danskos, considering buying them in other colors! They felt a little tight across the top for the first couple of wearings but totally comfortable now. They keep my arthritic feet stable which makes for happier feet!

I adore these shoes! I have the black with white soles and love them. I went up a half size as suggested and am mostly happy. They are tight across the top of the toe area but are so comfortable to walk (I have terrible sciatica and bone spurs) in that I got used to it. Going up a size would have made them gigantic, and as they are bulkier shoes, that would have made me trippable. I get daily compliments on these fabulous shoes and am super happy I bought them. It was my first experience with both Zappos & Dansko's so I'd say they both did well.

These shoes are very cute and comfy, but the smallest size, 36, was too big for my 5.5 foot size. Sadly, they have to go back.

These shoes are terrific. I took them out of the box and with me on my trip to Israel. Walked for miles on the stone streets and hills of Jerusalem and the shoes were fabulous! They were cute enough to wear for more dressy occasions and casual enough to wear for site-seeing. They are a little heavier in weight than I would have thought but I expect that helps in the support and comfort of the shoes. Thanks Dansko and more thanks to Zappos for amazing service.
