I freaking love this dress ... So much that this is my first ever review online of anything. The fabric is soft, comfortable ... the "black" is more of a soft slate gray; it will work fine for my office (totally business casual with a sweater over the top). It's going to be my go-to piece until it falls apart. I hate recommending it because I want it all to myself! I am 5'4" (and carrying an extra *ahem* 30 pounds) and a large fits me perfectly (I typically wear 12 or 14). The tank top is usually something I hate because of my upper arms, but this is cut so well it doesn't make me uncomfortable. LOVE IT! (first time ever buying Horny Toad Brand, but will be looking for it in the future.)

I love this dress! I have it in the black and the dolphin and am getting ready to order the old slate. I'm 5'2, 115 lbs, 34b, and I ordered the medium, but I really don't like form fitting clothes. The fabric is super soft, and the cut is very flattering and hides all sorts of flaws (at least if you don't have a super tight one).

I too LOVE this dress. I have it in the greyish/charcoaly color and am seriously thinking of buying another one in another color. I am 5'8", size L in this dress. Weigh around 170 (curvy) and this dress flatters! Perfect summer dress for casual wear with flip flops but the fabric dresses up a little too with wedgie slides, or nicer sandals. The kind of thing you put on and instantly feel effortlessly FABulous, darling.

This dress is amazing. So flattering! I am 5'6" and weigh about 140 and the size small fits perfect. It skims the body so it's pretty forgiving if you don't have a rock hard body. I also have this dress in long sleeves and it's just as awesome!

I have been absolutely loving this dress! I am only about 5'1" so I was nervous for the length, but I think ultimately it actually adds a unique and elegant element to a casual piece. Given that I have larger hips for my size, I also hesitated with the detailing on the side. It's actually awesome: it's so flattering and visually interesting, and doesn't add bulk like I feared. The color is beautiful: it's neutral but not boring, and goes with anything I put it with. I have worn this already this year with flat sandals and dressed up with my Lucky Brand Moran heels. Either way, I feel comfortable and confident in this dress.

Casual, stylish and soft. This dress fit me perfectly -- an XL for a size 14/16 short girl. The pocket is about the size of a deck of cards, the ruching on the side is an adjustable strap so you can wear it with no ruching or make it any length. The cloth is soft and comfortable, stretches where it needs to without looking bulgy. The picture is just slightly lighter gray than the gray, but accurate enough. I wish they had other colors, I would buy them all. Works well with a sweater, too.

Love it, love it, love it! So comfy and really pretty. Drapes nicely and, even though at almost 50 I'm a little less than lithe, it looks great on me. Lightweight without being see-through.

This dress is fantastic! It is very practical as it can be dressed up or down. The fabric is more lightweight than some of the other Horny Toad dresses I have purchased, but is nice for summer.

Love this dress. I always have an issue with casual dresses because I have a 34G chest. They are always too low, too tight, or the armholes too small or big. This dress fits perfectly.

I like this dress! It's very interesting. In full disclosure, I am awaiting a size small to see if I like it a little more form fitting. I purchased a medium (I am 5'8", 157lb, hourglass figure) and it's a tad drapey. Feels a little nightgownish and sloppy, but don't get me wrong, I still really like it and will keep one of the sizes once I can compare them side by side. It's a beautiful watermelon/coral color, and has a lot of style for a casual cotton dress. It's interesting. Even the zigzag stitching has interest. I feel like it is well made and versatile. Hopefully it will wash okay.

I was first attracted to this because 1) I love the color! 2) it is a casual dress that looks like a dress- not a nightgown! Once it arrived I was impressed with the material. It is soft and comfy and falls in a flattering way. I love this dress! I only got the one compliment from my hubby, and he's biased, so I'm not sure how that fits into the company "compliment guarantee." But I'm picky about things I wear, and this is my best clothing purchase this summer!

Wow, this is an awesome dress! It's made of a good quality fabric, and the tie on the right side is easy to adjust. On the tag it says, "if you don't receive a compliment within 3 wearings of this dress, you should send it back." I received 4 compliments in 2 wearings (2 from relatives, 2 from strangers). It really is the most comfortable, yet stylish dress ever! I do feel it's a bit overpriced, but I figured I can wear the dress pretty much anywhere, so it was worth the money.

I absolutely love this dress. I bought it for a graduation but have worn it since and gets lots of compliments. with my jewelry accents it is perfect. I even wore flip flops with it and it looked dressy. Love.

Love this dress! It is exactly what I was looking for: comfy, not too dressy, but not too casual, and doesn't hit above my knee! The material is the perfect combination of soft, light, and stretchy. The drawstring allows one to adjust the shape and flow of the dress for the optimum look, no matter what your body type. I can't imagine that this dress would not flatter anyone! I am 5'2", 115 lbs, and I ordered size small. I generally wear a size 4 and sometimes a 2. Since the size small states it fits size 4 - 6, I would say it is closer to the size 6. I just ordered another one in a different color and am trying the xs this time. If you are considering this dress, don't hesitate! Order now!

I love this dress! I bought it in another color last year, and it is so comfortable, packs well, and looks great. I always get compliments when I wear it, and it dresses up or down equally well. The fit is forgiving for stomach and hips, and slimming. Sizing runs true to slightly large and it washes well, no shrinkage or pilling.

This dress is very comfortable and flattering. I am 5'3", 34B and 118 lbs. The small fits a perfect fit so is the length. Have received many complements.

Very excited about this dress. When I first tried it on, I struggled getting the drawstring in the right place for my body shape. I had almost given up when suddenly, I found the sweet spot. The model shows more gathers at the bottom, but pushing the gathers up towards my waist created a flattering diagonal line and made all the difference. Also, the black is not a deep black. It is more dark gray which I like for daytime wear. I plan on wearing it in Paris this summer. Love it!

I was looking for a versatile dress that would travel well. I found it with this dress! At first, I was afraid it would not be flattering on me, but it really is. It's super comfortable - so soft! A great dress for travel as it doesn't wrinkle much at all. I love the drawstring hemline. It's a great way to either play up or play down this dress. Cute dress for work or play. I would definitely recommend it, and I will look into other products made by Horny Toad! And as usual, Zappos continues to provide high quality customer service from order to delivery!

This dress fits great! I purchased the black but think I'm going to order the other color too. I'm 5'1 and it fits mid-calf, which is perfect for me!

The good: I have received more compliments on this dress that nearly any other I own. Apparently, others think it looks better on me that I do. The color (I got the teal blue) is rich and dark and looks great with my skin tone and eyes (fair skin, blue eyes). It is also soft and very, very comfortable to wear. It can be dressed down with flip flops or dressed up with heals and jewelry. What I disagree with: I don't think this dress hides or flatters at all. I'm 5' 5" and 170. While it obviously covers my thighs and the rouching forgives by booty, it almost accentuates my less-than-flat abs. I ordered a Medium but should have ordered a Small. I didn't have time to reorder because I needed it for an event, but I should have downsized. Overall, a versatile, comfortable dress.
