I bought these pants for days that start out cool and then warm up. These fit the bill for those types of days. I use them for hiking and playing golf. Early in the day you want a little warmth. Later in the day, when the sun comes out and you need to keep cool, I unzip the legs and enjoy the shorts. Good, solid pants.

Was excited to receive my convertible pants!I actually discovered that they had the zip off legs which was a pleasant surprise! I had looked at other brands which were much more expensive.Could not be happier with my Columbia purchase!Look forward to future purchases !

I bought Women's Kestrel Trail Stretch Convertible Pant and when my husband saw it he ask for one. I didn't find exactly the same for man. Men's Silver Ridge Convertible Pant was the closest. He said it is very comfortable, easy to dry and he loves all the pockets. The convertible feature make a great pants for summer Excellent quality and reasonable price.

This is the 3d Pair of Convertable pants I've owned! I love the light weight, yet wear resistant material. I bought my first pair while living in AZ bc of the heat. And potentially hazardous wild life. Whether you use the Bottoms for a casual pant or are climbing, hiking etc these are A great addition to your gear. Numerous pockets, ripstop like material adjustable belt and hidden zippers

Perfect for use on a full day of sailing. Pants dry quickly and it's nice to put the legs back on when the sun goes down.

These pants exceeded our expectation. I purchased them for my guy who uses them every single time we head out to camp, fish or even just for a day hike. Excellent qualityhighly recommend

These are great and breathable. The material is light weight, detachable at the knee so you can wear them as shorts. Only downfall since I'm 5'5 I wish they had the inseam option shorter than 28 and I have to get the length tailored.

Light an airy if that's a word great color will go with everything so light can wear thru the whole summer!

I am happy with these pants because they're lightweight and dry quickly. They're very comfortable, and also provide protection from sunlight when I fish.

I have written several reviews about this pants because I cannot say enough about how good they are. It's been a few years now, and this is true, that I threw away all my blue jeans after I bought the first Silver Ridge convertible pants. They are comfortable, light, and not only you can go anywhere and look good, but also can be your working pants. I have all the colors available because I do not wear anything else. Best pants in the world, period!

I purchased these for my hubby as additional colors to his 2 pair Columbia convertible pants. He really likes them. Originally bought 2 pair for a trip to Spain and Italy. Washed them in the cruise bathroom and hung to dry several times on that trip. At home he works outdoors in Arizona 110+ degree summer heat. He likes to wear as pants because they breathe well and shade his skin without needing to apply sunblock. He wears them camping and fishing and they're pretty stain resistant.

I love these pants. These are my new jeans:) I love being able to go out golfing in the morning when it's still cool and have the pants as long pants then when it warms up around 11 you can convert them into shorts. Perfect pants for Michigan's climate, cold then hot then cold again all in one day. Lightweight and cool, these pants dry out quick too! I bought one pair originally to try out and after a week was sold, got online and ordered 2 more in different colors.

This is my fifth pair, I work in a warehouse and I were these everyday. They are very flexible and comfortable, they are cool in the summer and work well for me in the winter. The pockets are in the right place for me and are very functional. I would recommend these pants.

I've still have these pants I bought 4 years ago and they look, wear, and wash as well as when they were new! I now have 4 pairs in different colors. Super comfortable and lightweight but durable. Easy zip on zip off conversation too shorts.

I did not realize the value of these pants until kayak fishing in Florida last fall. After getting drenched with rain for 3 days, the sun finally came out. These pants saved me from being baked in the Florida sun.

Pants are very lightweight and comfortable. Purchased to wear under waders for spring fly fishing. They are so comfortable I've been wearing them casually as well.

My husband had two pairs of these and wore them to the end. I just bought him two more and he wears them golfing all the time! So great lightweight! We originally bought them for camping and hiking. He loves this! Best choice!

The Silver Ridge pants are the most versatile pants that I own. I have 2 pair of the regular ones and 2 pair of the convertible. Both have their uses, but I prefer the regular ones. I did a 2 week trip to Costa Rica and the only pants I took were the convertible Silver Ridge pants. You can wash them anywhere and hang them up to dry and they are dry in about 30 minutes. Here at home I have a pair that I keep "nice" and wear them out to eat and elsewhere when a "nice" looking pair of pants is required. One minor complaint; I wish they had a cell phone pocket--that's why I give them a 4 on the function rating.

One of the most versatile pair of pants I own. I have 3 pairs in different colors and I love them. Great for cooler mornings, then in the warmer afternoons, just zip off the legs and you have a great pair of shorts.

This is the 3rd pair Silver Ridge Convertible Pants I have purchased for my husband. The fabric weight and quality are great! We love that you can purchase by waist and inseam sizes. This has given my husband a better fit. These pants are great for working outdoors or recreation! I would highly recommend this convertible pant.

I would highly recommend these pants for someone who is looking for a lightweight casual pants. Typical Columbia quality. I always pack these on my frequent overseas trips. They take up minimal space and easily convert to shorts if needed. The only con is that they do run large. I normally buy a 32 waist. Sometimes a 33 if offered. With these I bought a 34 a still had a little room left over. I'll recommend you try on before buying.
