I purchased another pair of the same model and same size. That pair fit perfectly. This new pair was much tighter than the other pair.

Unfortunately not for me. I ordered in 34x32 and found overall that the pants were a little loose on my thighs and wide at my ankles. Waist was ok, but what threw me off was that the pants looked like a balloon.
Some might prefer that level of comfort, but I was hoping for a little more tapered look.
Landed up returning and will look into other options.

Bought these recently as I have an older pair that have become my go-to pants for travel and adventure. The new pair are pale in comparison, fit for only adventures in trips to the home improvement store. They literally look, fit and feel like something you would get from a big box store - no resemblance whatsoever to the Columbia of old. Not fit for adventure, so regret not looking at them more closely on receipt and sending right back.

I have worn Columbia pants and shorts for years. I'm 32 waist x 30. Always. These pants/shorts were extremely tight in the waist and thighs and butt. I could not wear them. As usual, Columbia was great in dealing with the return and refund. I recommend them because Columbia has proven to be a fantastic product but I didn't try to find the right size because I didn't want to deal with having to return again. I recommend you go up a size. Possibly two. Aloha.

Columbia, you are suppose to be a great outdoor brand and you equip your hiking/convertible pants with the biggest joke of a belt I have ever seen! It doesn’t stay clasped if you sit or are doing rigorous hiking. Very cheap. Honestly, this pant would be better sold without a belt if this is all the thought you’re going to our into it! Still a three star review, because it actually felt pretty comfortable as far as th material against my legs.

Great material and very comfortable to wear. Overall fit I disliked as it runs too large. I wear a 30 x 30 and have little to no issues with other pants. This one is long in the inseam and cannot wear it without shortening and also runs large. I bought a Kestral from Columbia outlet with the same size of 30 x 30 and the fit is perfect.

I work in retail and use these as my normal work attire. I have three pairs all in the same size. One pair fits perfect, one pair feels slightly smaller and the last pair feels way too small. Also this last pair has had stitching in the crotch and pockets come undone. If the sizing was more consistent I'd buy a couple more. The functionality of them is ultimately their saving grace

The pants are very comfortable (without items in pockets) and durable. My favorite feature being that they dry very quickly and are very lightweight. Being convertible they are great for hot days that may include bushwhacking. Also compared to other brands the price is not bad. There downfall comes to the pockets, granted I carry lots in my pockets, but when full, the pants become really tight, due to lack of stretch, around the crotch and upper leg making movement less comfortable and more constricted. Also the tiny little belt it comes with does not do much for me and it extremely difficult to remove.

Well made and functional, but my husband sent them back because they were small enough that he did not have full range of motion. He is slender and wears a 32-30 but they did not work for him. Too bad, because they were just what he wanted for a trip.

I bought three of these pants for summer hiking and when the weather isn't to cold. I tried some on at REI and thought that the 36 waist was tight so I ordered the 38x34. I realized that I should have ordered the 36 waist as the 38 was to big and the belt that came with the pants doesn't stay in place when you tighten them up. There is very little movement on the upper thigh when you need to step higher when climbing. Also the lower portion needs a inner or outer zipper to allow for removal over boots.

I like the pants overall. They seemed to fit true to size and are light weight. I have comments on 2 areas. The right cargo pocket is closed with velcro. The velcro patches are relatively small. When one has quite a few things in the right cargo pocket (or something heavier), the middle of the pocket sags and it is hard to get the velcro on the pocket flap to contact the velcro on the pocket plus it doesn't hold very well once the 2 velcro parts match up. So, a larger area of velcro on the right cargo pocket would be helpful. Also, when converting to shorts, having a zipper down the leg to better remove them over shoes/boots would be beneficial - of course, that would likely drive up the cost to add that feature.

Sorry but I like your former Silver Ridge models, the new model has a belt holder system around the back of the pants that is hard to put your belt through. Also, they don't have zippers on the bottom of the pants leg so if you want to remove your pants for the convertible look you have to remove your shoes. Finally and sadly there is no stuff pocket on your left leg to store your bottom convertible pants.

I own an older pair of Columbia convertible pants and they are much more durable, and of a better quality. Like most clothing sold today there is a rush to the bottom to increase profits. Columbia is not what it used to be. I only bought these because I was looking for a lighter color, and no one else seemed to have it.

I have bought Columbia convertible pants in past - size 38 x 32 and they fit fine. This pair for some reason ran small. I like the elastic strips in the waist since this usually accomodates my waist size. But this pair fell short.

I bought these because of the color and the more conventional cargo pants. The construction and is great and I love the color. However, I find the fit a little lacking in the crotch/rise -- these are definitely something you would primarily wear for only outdoor activies, the fit is too snug for putting stuff in the pockets.

Pants are very thin/nylon--kind of like parachute material. The fit was a full size smaller than my husband usually wears. If you are looking for a very lightweight material that looks good and runs small, these are your convertible pants.

I am a woman who prefers my hiking & traveling pants to fit just at the waist and have found that the Men's Hiking pants fit me best. I usually wear a size 4 Petit but for some reason the Men's sizes fit me best. I have told my friends about this and now three of my friends are also buying Men's Hiking Pants. They are also excellent for traveling I can keep all my valuables in the large zip & velcro pockets while on the plane and when exploring all the new areas where I travel.

I purchased these only because I love the Nylon material they are made of. I wear for casual use and golf. I would have preferred Black but Grey was as close as I could get...if they ever come in Black I'll buy another pair. I also would like to see a split or zipper opening on the bottom of the legs.

I just received these pants in the mail today. I was very impressed with the overall appearance and quality of the pants. However, they were simply way too tight in the thigh and butt area. I wear a size 34x30 in every pair of pants and jeans that I own. These pants fit ok in the waist, but the thigh and butt area were skin tight. I really hated this, because I loved everything else about the pants. I really like the fact that Columbia adds cargo pockets to the pants. I also like the fact that they incorporated a removable belt and an elastic waist. Unfortunately, I will have to return them. I'm not sure if it would do me any good to order a larger waist size. If Columbia would make these pants roomier...they would be the perfect hiking pant.

Thread is unraveling from back pockets and have only had them a month.

Stuff falls out of the pockets way too easily. I believe this is for two reasons. First, the pockets are short inside - not very deep like other pants. And second, these pants run small and tight, so when you sit in your car or your kayak, the pocket tends to open. Both seem to be indications of cheapness. I'm not going to buy another pair.

Very thin material. May be fine for a season but I would not rely on these pants for a long hike. Not worth full price.

Comfort of pants is very good. The problem I have is the stitching on the back pockets. I have worn three of the four pair and on those three the stitching has come undone. It seems like the stitching has to much separation between the stitches. It should have been done in a tighter stitch.

Bought it less than 3 weeks ago wore it 3 times and the threads from the stitching on the left back pocket already fell apart leaving a big hole in it. Will be returning.

I like this material very much, it is light and breathable with great flexibility. But I found that two pockets on the butt are all broken from the inside, and the sewing is worn out. As you can see, the left side is about a quarter coin size while the right side is even larger. Luckily I did not lose my wallet. Need some improvement!!!
