My 6th Pair - Back in 1997 I bought my first pair of these and I loved them! I just keep buying them but in different colors. From March to October I pretty much don't wear anything else. They never need "breaking in" and are simply the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Perfect shoe - For people with narrow feet, these sandals can be adjusted for a tighter fit. I own multiples of this shoe because I wear it all the time. The shaped sole supports my foot and gives instant relief for foot pain. This is the ONLY "thong" that I've ever worn because it does not put pressure between the toes. There is no break in time at all. I love this shoe.

I love these shoes - I continue to buy Mephisto's Helen. It is classy, feels like you're walking on clouds and fits like a dream. These are the best sandals!

Wonderful Sandals - I now have 3 pairs of Helen's and they are wonderful. Comfortable from the first wearing. I have a narrow foot and am able to adjust it to fit perfectly. I have a friend with a wide foot and the same goes for her. I also get all kinds of compliments on them. Recommend them to anyone who loves sandals but finds comfortable ones hard to find!

Second pair of "helen" mephistos - When I purchased my first pair of "Helen - Mephistos" , I was a bit hesitant about the investment in a pair of sandals. However, after wearing a pair of them for a year - they are, I believe, the most comfortable sandals that I have had. They seem to go a lot of places and are always very comfortable. 5 stars!!!

I love these shoes - This is like my tenth pair of these shoes. I live in Florida and I wear these shoes everyday. I have many colors. I wear Mephisto's all the time. I have bad feet and these make my feet feel like a little piece of heaven.

Another fan - Wow. Great sandal. I'm going to tell the long version of my story, because I didn't think about how many factors were going into my decision until after I had tried many different sandals out, with Zappos's help. I wore Birkenstocks (Arizona) for almost 20 years, and finally decided I needed a different toe grip... my feet were starting to ache across the top. I wasn't sure what caused that, so I didn't know what to try. I picked out a lot of beautiful sandals that were meant to be comfortable too, but found that they were all just too loose for me. I clearly needed adjustable straps, like my old Birkenstocks, but some other style. The other Birks didn't rock my boat. A friend recommended Naots. Naot is great, and led me to try a thong style grip. The toe post seems to change the way my toes grip, so I'm hoping it is a better style for me. Naot didn't have a buckle adjustment though, only a velcro one that didn't allow much real adjustment, frankly. Using Zappos reviews, I found that Mephisto was recommended. I never heard of Mephisto. But like Naot and Birkenstock, it's all about a comfy footbed. Naot is supposed to be longer wearing than Birkenstock, because the cork bed is held together with glue throughout, where Birkenstock uses glue superficially and needs glue maintenance. So I examined Mephisto's sole carefully when I got it. I found that I could not tell about how the cork was done, but the sole is a lot thicker than Birkenstocks, and extends beyond the cork. I think this will protect the cork a lot better, and will help the sandal wear a lot longer too. I also found that the Naots were very close to the edge of my foot. Mephisto has a thicker, chunkier look, but it made me feel more secure to have all that material surrounding my foot. One reviewer said Helens stopped her from pronating, and I could see that it might help me that way too. I was very impressed, and glad that the Zappos review system connected me to a shoe I hope will work well for me. I never knew before this odyssey that I was looking for a strap-adjustable, toe-posted, high-comfort walking sandal. In colors nice enough to be worn as my dress shoe for the summer, come to that. I may not have found it in a local shoe store, either. So thanks to Zappos customers for their reviews, and thanks to Zappos for an extensive selection of styles and colors, plus the service to help get it right.

Mephisto Helen - This is the absolutely best sandal! I have had reconstructive foot surgery and this sandal has great arch support. The adjustable are also convenient for narrow feet. I bought this sandal in gold and my only criticism is the the color is uneven and seems to have selectively rubbed off. However, I plan to purchase the silver if it becomes available in my size!

Great Sandal! Very comfortable from the start. Excellent support for flat feet. Classy design. One of my favorites!

Great shoes and service - Foot problems no longer. Mephisto shoes are great for aching feet solutions. My feet feel like they are being massaged as I walk. The styles are also great. Zappos matched the lowest price I found on another web site which saved 110%. I recieved my shoes within 2 days at no extra cost no shipping and no tax. I will definitely shop from Zappos again.

Awesome Mephisto Helen - I love the Helen style of Mephistos. This is the second pair that I own. My first pair is brown (I just bought the pink nubuck!) and I have worn them for about five years and will continue to wear them this summer. Once your foot is embedded in the sole, they are the best fitting sandal ever! I have short wide feet with a very high instep. Since these have an adjustable strap, I can wear them. Normally I wear a 6.5 W and the size 37 fits me perfect. I use the very largest size on the strap so people with narrower feet can easily make an adjustment. The length of the 37 will fit from 6.5 to 7 easily and maybe even 7.5 (not sure). The arch support is great. Easier to break in than the Birkenstock (I wore mine all day as soon as they arrived with no discomfort) and much more comfortable. Well worth the money!

Love the Helen! Fab shoe, no break-in period, got it in two colors. You can't go wrong. Zappos is THE best!

Mephisto Helen - This is my first pair of Helen's. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I highly recommend them.

I love them - I found these sandals to be comfortable from the moment I put them on. It did not take anytime to break them in. I felt they were true to size and width and they are a cute sandal on my foot as well. Overall a real plus - something I would buy again.

Mephisto Helen - I find the Mephisto shoe takes a bit longer to break in then some other comfort brands, but it is well worth the time, I wear them around the house for a while. I love the silver as I can wear these shoes from casual to dressed and only need one pair when I travel

Mephisto's are the best shoes ever. I have been wearing mephisto shoes for @ 8 yrs. The first pair I purchased as a walking shoe for a European vacation, and I have been hooked ever since. After that I went for the hiking boots, loafers, and sandals. The initial purchase price seems high at first, until you wear them, and then it is definitely worth it. I bought my first pair of mephisto Helen last year, and it immediately became my favorite sandal. It is so comfortable, but not in a soft, running-shoe way. It is more stiff, but supportive of the foot. I tend to want to roll my feet outward and walk on the outside edge of my foot, the mephisto brand aligns my feet perfectly so that I no longer do that. Also I like the feel of the footbed, in summer it never seems hot. I have recently purchased 2 more colors of Helen (pink and black patent) and can hardly resist the urge to buy more! Thanks to mephisto and Zappos I have very contented feet!

So in love! I have two pairs of Helen sandals. I've worn them so much I have triangular tan lines on my feet. They're so good for walking and provide excellent arch support. I have a wide foot with high arch, and these shoes are exceptionally comfortable! It's only a matter of time before I get pair #3...

I got the Helens in silver- if you are thinking of the silver but are on the fence about it, don't be- the silver is Fabulous! The leather seems very durable, the silver is nice and shiny, and the dark footbed and sole are great contrast. The buckles are good for high insteps. I wear between a 6 1/2 and 7, closer to a 7, and the size 7 in these worked well for me. These were a first purchase of Mephistos for me, and I am very pleased- the craftsmanship is superior, well worth the price. This was also my first Zappos purchase- I can't say enough about doing business with Zappos. I am so happy with everything, shoe selection, delivery, sale offerings each week, but especially customer service.

One Helen-of a shoe - This is my second pair of Mephisto HELEN. Bought my first pair in a department store in black smooth leather 2 years ago and literally wore them right out of store and never felt more comfortable with a brand new pair of shoes. It was incredible! Until then I always resisted buying Mephisto because they are a little expensive for a sandal ( although I don't usually feel the same way about a full shoe or boot!). I now have 2 pair of HELEN ( Black and a new pair in apple green) and also 2 pair of HIRWEN which are also divine! I am in my early fifties, very style conscious and never feel that either style is out of place with capris, long skirts, linen pants. The toe thong should not worry anyone. I am not generally a big fan of toe thongs but Mephisto designs them in such a way that they do not feel weird or bothersome.

Every woman needs a pair of Mephisto Helens - This is my 3rd pair of Helens and they are one of the only shoes I can wear all day working or shopping and not have sore, tired feet by the end of the day. I was thrilled when you had the Navy in something other than a nubuck, so had to order them as soon as I saw them on the website.

The most comfortable sandals. I love Mephisto. I have plantar fasciitis and need good arch support. These sandals provide this. They are the most comfortable Mephisto shoes ever! Plus they are cute. I love them so much I got them in 2 different colors.

Better than the other leading brand - My ankles have a tendency to turn out...these sandals help align my ankles and give very good support to my whole foot - and they don't look too clunky!
