Very happy with the style of the shoes really top notch. The heel upper needs to get a little wear as I find it digging into my ankle a tad Which is why I dropped the comfort a bit. Very impressed with the packaging and detailing.

This is my second pair and the only complaint is not being able to keep the shoe laces tied. Any suggestions?

A fine shoe, but just too expensive- -
Rockport is the main competitor, and their best is also very good, and available in "wide"

good quality, they tend to run a bit wide, somewhat costly compared to other shoes-wish it had a bit more arch support-a common problem with boat shoes

Bought this shoe around christmas, trying to step it up a little shoe wise. It fits great, and looks amazing; however, the leather is a little too stiff, and it scratches way too easily. Most of the scratches are easily removed by applying lotion daily to the shoe. Very good shoe overall. Would be perfect if there were more movement in the shoe, and I wasn't worried about scratching the shoe all the time because of the price.

This shoe was quite stiff and without the normal "padding" of a Gold Cup shoe. We bought 2 Gold Cup shoes and this one was not nearly as comfortable as the blue pair.

Good looking shoes. Bought these for my husband. He told me it felt very tight and uncomfortable. Returning.

They had gone down in quality since purchase of my last pair. Over the years I have owned well over 10 pairs.

I have selected the "normal" width. Despite having tightened the leather rope, I still feel that they are wider than my previous Gold Cup. As well, I do not know if the height at the back has changed. I have difficulties adapting and they rub my ankles. The top padded portion of the right tongue is not symmetrical with the left one. At that price, one would expect better quality control. I like the new outer sole. The dark brown leather is nice. Overall, aside from the outer sole, I miss my old Gold Cup and I am not certain I would repeat. Time will tell.

This was the third pair of Gold Cup shoes purchased in the past 5 years. I purchased this pair to replace a pair that were stolen by a coyote (can't make this up) after I'd had them 3-4 years. I loved those shoes. The new pair does not compare. I've not worn them too much and only had them for about 6 months and the sole edges are delaminating. (The soles are made of two different types of rubber and they are separating, causing a potential tripping hazard). "Superglue" has solved the symptom but not the cause; this never occurred in my prior pair in spite of longer and harder wear. Additionally, they are not as comfortable as the style is a little different. The older pair had an indentation, above the heel, (above the logo) where the edge of the shoe dipped down. This little change made the shoe less likely to chafe.
I like the look of the shoe, still, but I've taken delivery of a non-Gold Cup pair of Sperry's to be my workhorse shoes. They were more comfortable in their first wearing (having that indentation in the shoe line above the heel) and as they've a solid sole, they wont delaminate. I will continue to purchase Sperry shoes but will no longer spend the upcharge for the Gold Cup line. Quite disappointing.

I have had several pairs of this shoe (w/ASV) but hese ones are not as soft inside. The memory foam footbed does not seem to have the soft leather lining.

The shoe is not as soft as it used to be. Not sure if they changed manufacturer, but the interior is not as soft as my previous pairs. The memory foam footbed doen not seem to have the lambskin lining,

in the Gold Cup, disappointed in the cheapness of the man made leather insole. A few years ago you were still using leather to top the insole, now fake leather. Otherwise I like them

I just bought this shoe online, off of a retailer In Quebec and it showed up today. Aesthetically, the shoe is awesome. I love everything about the looks of it. The sole is very comfy on my feet and all the materials being used are of great quality.
Here is the big issue: the sides of the shoes come up a bit too high and are hitting my ankle bones - More so on the left foot, and it is very noticeable. I wore the shoes for an hour in my house just walking around to test them and by the time the hour was up my left ankle was killing me from the constant rubbing (The right ankle wasn't too bad but it was rubbing a bit which was also annoying.) I was about to go on a walk outside with my dog and wear these shoes but before I even got outside my ankles were on the verge of having blisters from the sides of the shoe rubbing on them.
I must say, I was very excited for these shoes as I love everything about them but there is this one big issue. I am not sure if its because of the handsewn construction but clearly something is off with this pair. I lined up both shoes side by side and the left side clearly comes up higher which is why its bothering my left ankle more than the right.
I really hope this retailer will accept the return because if not then I am stuck with these shoes I wont be able to wear. I can only imagine how my ankles would feel if i wore these out for the day.
The sad part is I really want to wear sperry gold cups as I have had some in the past and they have been awesome.

This shoes are very stiff. The sides are high, and bother my ankle, especially where I had a shingles attack. No where near as comfortable as other gold cup boat shoes. I'll be returning them.

I have been wearing this model for many years. It was discontinued a few years ago, and reintroduced lately. However, the quality and the comfort of the new one is a not up to par. The leather is much harder and the size is way off. All my older Sperry shoes are size 9M, I tried 9M, 8.5M and finally settled on size 8M. Too bad, I used to love them.

Was trying to replace the same pair I purchased at Nordstrom's 4 years ago. Unfortunately, it appears Sperry moved the manufacturing to Vietnam and the current model is just not the same shoe. The older model came with a shoe bag & the new model did not. Insole also seemed to inferior to the older model. I had to return as I could not pay the same full price for this model that I know the previous one was better quality in my opinion.

I have been wearing 13's in most running shoes and outdoor boots. I re-ordered and got size 11-1/2. I had to add an additional insole to get this pair to fit.
