Good jacket for everyday use around the house/office. Don't expect much from it, doesn't really work as a windbreaker...Jacket is lightweight and comfortable. That being said jacket is not that practical and applicable to more than casual wear. You will get cold on hikes, morning jogs, etc...

I bought this jacket for my husband and found the fit could use some reconsidering. In my opinion, it should be a tad longer in length. On the contrary, the sleeves were a bit longer than I expected. If not for those two issues, this would be the perfect lightweight jacket.

I purchased this jacket online; I was impressed with the quality of materials, the ease of use with the zippers, and the overall feel of the jacket. TNF makes very nice products, and this is no exception. The colors are very true to the pictures, in case you're wondering. However, when you put the jacket on, it will stretch. The jacket shell is made out of polyester (92%) and elastane (8%). The inside is nothing more than polyester. So when you put on the jacket, it can and will stretch, which kind of stinks. It takes away from the solid feel of the jacket otherwise. The pockets are not really pockets so much as they are mesh that actually goes all the way into the jacket and if you have a breeze either from your front or behind, the cold air will get into the jacket. Not a problem if you're fine with using pockets that aren't on your jacket, but it does defeat the purpose of having the pockets in the first place. The jacket is not warm at all if you're wearing less than, say, a flannel in 50 degree weather with little breezes. This jacket is more of a layering jacket, and it doesn't do the best job of breaking wind, either. If you're wearing a lot of stuff underneath this jacket, say a t-shirt, flannel, and maybe a sweater, depending on how cold it is outside, you'll be warm enough to stay outside. But if you want to wear this jacket outside in anything under 50 degrees, you'll be cold if you wear just a t-shirt. So ultimately, this jacket just needs some lining. If they solved that problem, there would be no problems with the jacket. Unfortunately, it has no lining, and therefore has a big problem.

The jacket looks great but we did have trouble with small holes around the cuff of the sleeves. The best part about this is the return policy of Zappos! This company is amazing! Not only do they ship overnight - free, their customer service is the best I have ever had. Zappos is an upbeat company that goes out of its way to make your shopping experience amazing.

In the morning it's usually freezing with some windchill where I live and this jacket provided little warmth and protection. This jacket is being categorized as a soft shell is wrong. This is a fleece jacket which is fashionable but isn't really made for the cold .

This product looked great online. In person, however, it's a very flimsy, lightweight jacket--almost like a raincoat. I would not recommend

Wasn't what I wanted but sometimes that's what you get when ordering online. I was able to exchange the coat at a local store and didn't have any issues

I bough this jacket thinking it was going to be a thicker soft shell jacket and when I received it, it was very thin. I put it on and went outside and could feel the wind right through it. I would recommend paying the $20 more and getting the nicer jacket.

After I googled "is north face DWR safe" what I found was several horrifying articles written by credible sources like greenpeace Germany talking about how unsafe DWR is for humans and the environment. Yet TNF still uses it and is knowingly polluting the earth and giving people a host of illnesses and diseases with the use of this and other horrible chemicals. Let alone all of those fleece micro fibers that wash into the oceans every time you wash TNF garments. I feel like a fool for supporting this company for as long as I have. Chemicals found in Northface jackets can be detected in the oceans in the north and south poles even at the top of Mount Everest. Will this company ever stop polluting? I am absolutely done with Northface

Color online wasn't really close to what the jacket actually looks like. Returning it and bought a Columbia jacket instead...
