I've tried several versions of Frye Veronica slouch boots, both tall and short. I've come to the conclusion the comfort level depends largely on the leather. Tumbled full-grain leather is more comfy than, say, Calf Shine Vintage. They also fit half size smaller. I'm a solid 10 but need 9.5 in these. The style is timeless. They can be dressed up or down. They definitely need to be broken in.

These are so cute! They run smaller than other Frye Styles, I ended up with a 9 and in Frye Janes and two other pair of Frye I wear an 8. They are really comfy and nice to just throw on when you don't feel like wearing tall boots. I can wear them all day!

I absolutely love all the Frye boots. They are the most comfortable boots around. They are pricey but well worth it. I have very sore feet all the time from many years of wearing bad shoes and boots and these are the only ones I can tolerate. I particularly love the Veronica ones.

I have several pairs of Frye boots! all very comfortable. The Veronica is stylish and they look great with leggings or jeans. Very pleased with this purchase.

These boots! The leather is so soft and feels like you have worn them for a lifetime. My heel slipped for the first few hours of wearing them around the house, but the inside of the boot soon molded to my feet. They are so comfortable! I am a teacher and can wear these all day and night. Dress em up (perfect height for cute dresses and leggings) or dress em down (the black ones are great with black or dark wash skinny jeans). These are a shorter boot, hitting me (5'4") below the calf. The shaft is wide enough so that it is easy to pull my wide foot in. I have a wide foot and my normal size 9 fits perfectly. I agonized for literally months before buying them, as they are quite a bit more than I usually spend on shoes. They are worth every penny and are so durable and versatile that I am sure I will be wearing them for years. Do it. You won't regret it.

These boots are worth every penny! They are absolutely perfect and obviously high quality right out of the box. I sized up a half a size and it allows enough room for socks. Love!

I love these boots! When I opened the box I squealed - they're so beautiful. The leather is so soft and true to the Frye name. A very casual boot is somehow dressier based on how well made and beautiful it is. Super comfortable, but I ordered a half size up. Obviously they look great with jeans, but they work great with tights and skirts. I will wear these for years and years, a given with Frye, and love them more and more with each wearing.

Where do I even start? Took me one evening of wearing these to break them ins I haven't taken them off since! Never been in love with a pair of boots until now. Perfect with a dress, shorts, a legging with a short skirt. So cute and I get complemented almost every time I wear them (which is a LOT!)

I wear a solid 7 1/2 and this was about a half size too small. If I kept it, I would have to wear the super thin socks and since it is a winter/fall boot. I'll be getting the 8.

Well made boot with beautiful leather, but it was too big and very heavy, especially in the heel. I went for a size 8, usually wear a 7.5-8, so I could wear a heavier sock. Probably could have worn a heavier sock with the 7.5. Thank you Zappos once again for your quick service and painless returns!

I am in love with Frye boots! It is so funny because I had previously never heard of the brand...but now, in the month of June 2013, I am the proud owner of 3 brand new pair.They fit fantastically true to size and the support is fine for me. What I love is the combination of rugged and feminine. They really go best with jeans, but can be paired with some dresses and slacks. It all depends on the look of the day. I am very proud to add these to my wardrobe and I imagine I will be adding a fourth pair before too long.

These boots are fabulous. Love the look, well built, many compliments from strangers! My only problem is deciding what other color to buy. Because of helpful reviews I bought 1/2 size up and they fit perfect.

I absolutely love these boots. I've always ordered my regular size 9 in Frye. It's not a snug fit, but an 8 1/2 is too tight on me. This works for me, because I usually wear socks.

Love this style of Frye (I have 4 pairs). They are extremely comfortable, no break in time needed. The leather is soft, flexible and also sturdy, not likely to wear out for a long, long time of continuous wear. A beautifully made and practical boot to be worn with practically anything. Also true to size. I normally wear a 7 1/2 and the 7 1/2 fit me perfect with normal to medium weight socks. Get lots of compliments! And with Zappos super fast delivery service, it doesn't get much better than that! They rock!

This is my first pair of Fryes and with all the conflicting reviews on size, I got the 9.5. I can wear both a 9.5 and a 10 in other shoes so it's always a roll of the dice. These fit well, they are a little tight in the toe box on my larger foot, and my heels slip slightly, but that is normal for boots. (Read Frye's FAQs section on their website for info on that.) If you get these and they feel tight, wear them around your house on carpet for a little while and let the leather warm up before you decide to send them back or not. I feel like I need to break them in a little but they are timeless and excellent boots, great quality and very versatile with leggings or skinny jeans. For what it's worth, they smell heavenly, too!

I have become a Frye addict! I purchased these after lusting from afar for months. I'm so glad I did, but sorry I waited so long. The Frye company are truly masters at creating boots. These were comfortable from the moment I put them on. I have worn them exclusively for a solid week and can see them lasting well into the future, provided I care for the sumptuous leather properly. I tried the burnished brown because I wanted a boot that looked both brown and black. These fit the bill. Comfortable, sturdy (it's been rainy here for the last four days) and stylish with both jeans, leggings and even with a skirt. Purchase these! Sure the price point is high but you will get years of wear...they will pay for themselves!

I hemmed and hawed about these boots for months. I have very large calves, and wondered if these would work. I decided to ask my husband for them for Christmas, and I am so glad I did! They are amazing! I ordered them a half size larger based on other feedback, and they fit perfectly.

Love these boots! I have a brown pair and black pair and I absolutely love them!! I recently purchased a brown and black pair of Veronica Slouch too! I don't know who Veronica is, but she has a great boot! I feel like I need a half size larger in these, where I order TTS on other styles like the Melissa Button boots, but they were perfect! No blisters or pain, they were comfortable and broken in right out of the box! The shorties look cute with dresses, leggings, and skinny jeans. I don't have any trouble tucking them in nicely with my skinny jeans and they are super cute and stylish! These are definitely a fall and winter staple in my wardrobe!

Frye sizing is getting more dependable, I have narrow feet, and used to buy a size or two down ( years ago), now I can buy "my true size", albeit in a "B" med width, and add insoles or thick socks to help take up the extra room inside. These boots are stylish, rugged, and well made. I am wearing them as work boots, I bought black so that I could clean off small paint drips (from art production work) and re-buff and polish easily to keep them looking smart. They were expensive for me, but I think I can keep them looking good for years, not just a season.

I love these boots! I had been looking for a long time for a short motorcycle-style boot that wouldn't be too clunky and these are them. At first I bought the black boots, but decided it was a little too hard core for me. Returned them for the grey boots and I feel like I hit the jackpot. They're beautiful, comfortable, go with everything, and are roomy enough to make my big calves seem not so big. The black ones were incredibly soft and supple, the greys a little less so. I think they'll take a few more wears to break in. My only gripe is that because they're kind of roomy, the heel slips a bit (not terribly) so with the new leather my heels were rubbed raw the first day (although I did walk a lot). I think a little moleskin liner or thick socks would be the perfect fix. All in all, I'm thrilled with them.

So very comfortable. I ordered the size I normally wear and it is large enough to wear socks with if I want. I chose the dark brown antiqued and it looks worn. But that was the look I was wanting. Love them.

I love these. The dark tumbled brown is true to the picture. It took about two weeks of intermittent wear to break them in. Now they are extremely comfy for all day at work. They are easy to wear under jeans and my dress pants.
