I waited a long time to order these boots, looking at so many different boots to make sure and order the right pair that I loved the look of and also was good quality. When I received the boots, upon opening them it was pure joy....the look, the feel, the smell of the leather... but when I put them on they were so uncomfortable. But I wanted to make them work so I thought maybe if I wore them they would feel better after a little while. But NO. So disappointed. I wanted these really badly. Beautiful but uncomfortable. Will have to send them back. :-(

I am so disappointed! I ordered the 6 which I usually always wear and they slipped terrible on my heels. So I returned and ordered the 5½ which was too tight in my feet and still slipped on my heel. I am so sad because I wanted these desperately!

I wanted to love these boots so badly, since I love the style and the quality was superb. However, I listened to other reviewers and ordered a 9 (I usually wear an 8.5) since many folks said the boots ran small. The 9s gave me blisters on both heals almost instantly. I have an old favorite pair of cowboy boots (Ariat) so I realize boots like this have a little extra space in the heels. Sigh. Sent them back for an 8.5 and the right boot still miserably felt like it was digging in at that same spot on the heel. I understand break-in period on leather but these guys felt designed wrong for my feet, like there was a seem or something right on that tender heel part. Well, gave em a shot and sticking with the Ariats.

I was excited to get these. I have a pair of Veronica Slouch boots and love them and thought the short version would be a nice addition to my wardrobe. Loved the look of these out of the box and everything about them fit great, except the heel. The heel was huge. Both heels slipped up every time I walked, even with thick socks and adjusting the buckle. Back they went. I don't have this problem with my "regular" Veronica Slouch boots. Am so disappointed. Did a little research and read some reviews on another site (starts with N and ends with "strom") and heel slippage in the Veronica Shortie boot is a huge problem with customers there, too. Something to think about before you buy.

Cheap leather feel and look, no arch support, zero comfort.

Very disappointed. Something appears wrong with the foot mould on this shoe. I typically wear a size 8, but the boot was far too narrow–comically so, as if for a child's foot and I do not wear wide sizes. When I ordered the 8.5, the boot was simply longer, but also ridiculously tight. They had a huge heel-slip factor at the back of the boot, but since the shoe was already so narrow, there was no opportunity to adjust with an insert and the slippage, in addition to being annoying, is a sincere safety hazard on the streets of New York. Foolishly, I kept the boots with the hopes they might stretch or that I could work out with thin socks. Of course this didn't work and a I eventually donated the boots. Saddened that FRYE has such lax standards on their shoe production.

This is not the color as described

Still me here— I’m going to Nashville in two days— expecting BLACK boots for my outfits!! SO UPSET. Some color indifferences are to be expected but this is sooooo wrong. I expect to have black boots in my possession soon.

These shoes are gorgeous but unbelievably painful and damn near unwearable. I ordered up a size, like I always do in boots, and even that wasn’t enough. Just a tight, brutally uncomfortable boot.

This boot is truly an embarrassment to Frye! The style and color are the only thing going for it. The leather on the shaft is thin and cheap looking; no pull tabs and my heel pulled up every step I took. I would have paid their high $$ if this boot halfway resembled the previous Frye boots I bought in the 1980's...that were made in America. In my opinion, there's no way they can justify $198 sale price, much less the $298 regular price. I'm sticking with Durangos and Justins since their quality blows Fyre out of the water.

I have several pairs of Frye's. I love them but seem to never be able to depend on their sizing. This boot was so small and narrow across the bed it hurt. So they are going back. Have the same shoe in the high boot and it fit fine. Go figure. thanks Zappos for such great service.
