The littlest pocket I thought was just as big as you can see from the outside but it actually goes all the way down into the bag so I put Velcro by the bottom of the pocket so it would be as small as it seems and now I love it I use it for school and its perfect!

I've bought three high Sierra swerve backpacks for my college students in the last 5 years. They are durable and so comfortable, when when loaded with textbooks and computers. Unfortunately, the one I just bought 2 months ago already has stitching on the shoulder coming apart. Are they not making them like they used to or did I get a lemon?

I used an earlier version of this backpack to carry work-items and personal comfort/entertainment during business trips. I thought I was getting a new pack with same space and functionality, but was disappointed to see how High Sierra has cheapened this new version and eliminated features that I had valued in older version front pocket. Gone are the zippers in front pocket that used to hold my small peripherals in place -- the new pockets do not protect these easy-to-lose items, so I will have to invest in other cases to make sure I don't lose small items previously kept safe in zippered compartments.

I use this pack for work. I carry a number of smaller pouches, a towel, a clipboard, water and snacks. The pack seems to be of high quality; However, it is nearly impossible to EASILY open or close the zippers because of the hard flap which covers the zippers. Very inconvenient as I have to open and close the pack many times during the day. I would not have purchased the product had I known about this problem.

Have to niece. Beautiful and bright design. Bought the teal book bag. Returning an item was a huge hassle. I couldn't CANCEL the order after clicking the payment button. I was told to read the shipping policy first. Well, too late for that. I ordered 2 bags because on the first order I forgot to use the coupon. After receiving the items in large plastic bags, NOT a box, I had to send one of the items back, which cost almost $11.00! I didn't save any money this time due to my error of not checking the reviews for this site. Book bag is nice but dealing with their website is not.

Bought this for my daughter to replace her 3 year old Loop backpack only because it was getting hard to fit all of her school books and flute into. The Swerve is large enough, great organization, lightweight, however after 3 months of use there was a tear in the seam near the top handle and main pocket. I sewed it back together with heavy duty thread and it was good for the rest of the school year. Within a month of use the second year, the same seam split open, I mended again but by the end of the school year the split had reopened and gotten larger. I am hoping that this was just a fluke and that a new one will last as long as her Loop has.

Looked great and was comfy but the zipper that gave easy access to the laptop made me nervous ?

The zippers on the inside of the bag are already starting to come apart. The thread is loose, and I'm worried that it will get worse. The capacity of the bag isn't great, but it's reasonable. I'm able to fit what I need inside, but nothing more. I like the rain resistant material on the outside. The bag also reasonably supports my back.

I bought this for my 10 year old daughter. The patterns are fun and there are lots to choose from. We like all the pockets. But it's very difficult to zip and unzip along the flap of material that covers some of the zippers. She'll have to fold that flap back every time to zip or unzip - kind of cumbersome. I would suggest to High Sierra to NOT use so much fabric if they feel the need to cover the zippers, or just leave them uncovered!

This was a gift for my daughter. The bag came and she tried to place it on her back when she realized the straps were two different sizes and would not tighten correctly.

This was my sons first High Sierra backpack. We had used LLBean before. The main complaint is the dual zippers to the main compartment. My son didn't like those and felt it was kind of hard to store his big huge binder in it and stored it easier in the pocket toward the front. The material was nice and sturdy and we would get another High Sierra again but we need to go bigger than the one and unfortunately it seems this backpack is as big as it gets for High Sierra.

How many pockets does it have? Looks like 6 zipper and 2 mesh?

Used this backpack for a college backpack. It was great until the seams on the shoulder straps by the elastic started to unravel. It gave me two years of use before this issue occurred.

This seems like great quality, but the zippers kept getting stuck. I couldn't close it easily and my 7yo definitely couldn't close it easily.

Zipper pulled away from body of pack within 9-10 months. Stitching failed. Waiting to hear from customer service about warranty or repair.

This is a great looking backpack; however, I bought this for my daughter for school and because of all the zippers and "pockets" it isn't made deep/wide enough for books and notebooks. She can't fit everything in it for school.

After having my previous backpack from Sierra last for 5 years or so, I decided when it fell apart to get another. The laptop bags are perfect for carrying my cards around and decided to try this one. I use a backpack daily for things like grocery shopping, carrying cards to the shop, carrying stuff to and from work, etc. I wouldn't say I put a lot of strain on the bags I use, but I do use them extensively. This particular bag began to fall apart at one of the top seams next to one of the zippers after only maybe 4 or 5 months. I haven't used it any more than my previous bag, and I'm fairly annoyed I have to replace it already.

too many compartments limits the space in this bookbag. Too hard to fit binders and books in for my 4th grader.

I just receive this backpack and hate it already. The zippers are nearly impossible to get open. They are not only stiff, but they continually catch the inside material and it gets caught inside the zipper. Also, who thought it was a good idea to sew little "eaves" that protrude over the zippers, making it even more difficult to get in the stupid thing? I am extra irritated because I'm looking at the returns policy and they make you pay for your own returns. Why should I have to pay to return a defective, inferior product? I have purchased High Sierra backpacks in the past with no issue, but I will NEVER order directly from High Sierra again.

Unfortunately the zipper was damaged when we got it. It's very cute and stylish. I was super unhappy. I was planning on using it for a trip. We had to go buy something else in the mean time.

I was very excited about purchasing this product, especially as it was 50% off. However, I was utterly disappointed with the quality of the product.

I bought this backpack for my 5th grader. The first thing he said as he picked it up was it was heavy. He is right. We didn't put anything in it yet and it's heavy. Imagine books, lunch, winter gear. 2.5 lbs didn't seem like much but it really is considering you still need to fill it up.
