I can't say enough good things about the Giesswein Vent slippers, although I wear them out just like shoes. I have had so much trouble with my feet that I had about given up finding something warm, flexible, no heel and comfortable. These slippers are all that and more. I just Giesswein would make shoes with the same type of soles. I would love to have some different styles.

I am a fan of boiled wool slippers, have tried many brands. These are my favorites: toasty warm, like that they are not mules. the sole allows me to run outside for a quick chore, the arch support is terrific. A few words about sizing: I wear a size 7. The size chart put me between a 37 and 38, so I read reviews and since many customers claimed this slipper ran small, I ordered a 38. They were too large! I phoned Zappos, they sent a size 37, allowing me to try both on before returning. (Yay, Zappos!) I am keeping the 37. While they are a bit snug putting them on over socks, they will stretch a bit. While wearing, the 37 are perfect. Thank you Zappos for your great customer service!

I purchased these slippers because my Minnetoka moose skin slippers had no support. I over-pronate on one foot and supinate on the other. I had achilles tendon surgery 3 years ago and currently have a peroneal tendon problem. I guess you get the idea I wanted slippers with enough support that would not make my problems worse. I had been looking at these for 2 years and finally decided to order them. Yes, you need to size up. And the arch support is wonderful (will have to get used to the higher arch on the foot I over-pronate). I like the idea of the outside bottoms, as I feel they add to the stability of the slipper. I live in the hot, humid south and the wool is cool on our warm (79 degrees) winter days. I'm sure they'll be equally cool in the higher heat of the summer.

This is my third pair of these slippers. I average buying a new pair every 1-2 years, but this is because I wear them every waking hour of the day in the house (I work from home) and even take them with me when I travel. I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and need support but not too much, and above all need shock absorption and light weight. These fit that bill for me. They don't fall off, the wool stretches to fit my feet, and they're basically a hug all day long. One bit of advice: take care putting them on and off and treat the back part you slip into well, and they'll last longer. Worth every penny to me.

Took the advice of other reviewers and ordered 1 size up. So glad I did. The larger size fit perfectly. The arch support is quite firm. It reminds me of brand new Birkenstocks. You wear them a bit at a time until they conform more to your feet. I have custom orthotics so I understand it can take a while to get used to the firmer support. If you rush it and walk in them a lot right away your feet could get sore. Theay are not the most beautiful slippers in the world, but hey, they keep my feet warm and I can walk on my hardwood floors without pain. They appear to be very well made. They should last a very long time.

I'm 68 and have "bad feet." Injuries, surgeries, yada yada. I returned pair after pair of slippers from Amazon, several over $100, and started to feel like Goldilocks looking in vain for just the right fit. Well, with my Giesswein Vents, I have the right fit! My feet applaud you, Giesswein and Zappos. Only one note - they came in even sizes only and I usually wear an 11 1/2. If you are a half-size, take the larger option for your Giesswein Vents; I returned my initial size 11 choice for a size 12, and they're perfect.

I wear an 8, but a 7 in this slipper. My 5th pair in 19 years. The only minus is the slip string to tighten them. It doesn't stay in place and loosens on its own.

I was undecided after reading reviews as most said they ran big. with that said, i usually wear a 39 and ordered a 40 per reviews and really could of stayed with the 39 and been fine.
as these are slippers, that really is ok. i was able to take out the inserts and insert my own custom orthotics which is very good. they are a little pricey for slippers, but with that said they are made very well it seems.
time will tell as this is a first for this brand.

My pilates instructor told me I needed to wear a shoe in the house with excellent support. (I used to go barefoot in the house). She really liked these. I find them very comfortable. I never adjust the bungee - not sure how anyone would. I use the pull tab at the ankle to pull them on. Durable enough sole for heading out to the mailbox. They stay on my foot securely. Expensive, but worth it. Plenty of room in the toe box. I ordered my usual size.

I have been on the hunt for a support close toe/full back slipper (not a scuff) for months. This is the first slipper that had awesome support, stayed on my feet and were warm. I work from home so I needed a "house shoe" of sorts. What I like is that the sole is a hard bottom, but it's not hard enough that it's loud on hardwood floors. I like that these can be tightened and loosened at the top as well. I wish they were a tad cuter (I bought the plum which was the cutest of all of them) but overall they have the functionality I need.

These slippers are awesome! I've worn them every day this winter and am so pleased with my purchase! The only way to improve upon the design is to have slip-ons (instead of pulling them on with my hands each time), but them I suppose I would compromise on support. Definitely recommend! Would buy more in the future, but these are wearing really well so far.

I wear a women's 9 and other reviewers said to order 1 size up, so I did. At first, I thought these felt a little big, but I think my regular size would have my toes right at the end, so I'm happy with these. I have a narrow foot, so I'll need to wear socks with these, but that's not a problem for me in the winter! I also thought that the arch support might be too much for me, but my feet feel great. They breathe really well.

These are the most comfortable winter slippers! They are warm and breathable, and the arch support is fantastic (similar feel to Birkenstocks). My feet never feel too cold or hot, and they are really cute, besides. They are perfect for around the house, especially on snow days, and the rubber sole has nice traction. After searching for ideal winter slippers in the past, I've finally found them. These are expensive, but totally worth the investment. Cheaper slippers were either too warm, too bulky, or too large, and support was usually missing (cushioned sole: yes, arch support: no). Walking around indoors all day in these Giessweins is a pleasure and there's no knee pain, like other slippers, and they will last for years (very durable construction).
A note about sizing: Other reviewers are right about length versus width. Size up a bit for length and enjoy the width. I usually wear 8.5-9W (39-40), but got these in Euro 41 and they fit really well. Because these are unisex sizing, the heel is not narrow, and you can step out of them, if the drawstring closure is not tightened. This isn't a problem for me, but others might prefer a more snug fit. Love these slippers! If you want warmth and comfort for productive winter days at home, look no further for the perfect footwear.

I have been through many pair of the "cheaper" slippers...ones that run around $20-30 from basic department stores. While they all served their purpose, I was never thrilled with them and they always broke down within a year. I decided to try out a higher quality pair with these Giesswein Vents, and I can tell you that I will never go back to the cheaper ones. These slippers are flat out awesome and worth every penny.
The first thing I noticed when I received them was the quality. You can tell when you get them out of the box that they are extremely well-made and are built to last. I can foresee owning these slippers for several years.
They are some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. I was concerned that the wool would be too hot. Well the slippers are very breathable and somehow seem to keep my feet the perfect temperature. I can wear them long periods of time without overheating my feet.
The insole is removable and is very thick and cushioned. Very nice arch support.
You can wash these too, if you need to. I would not even try to wash any of my cheaper slippers because I'm sure they would disintegrate in the washer. I'm certain these would be just fine due to the high quality.
These have a pull string to tighten around your foot for a more snug fit, but I don't use mine. Mine fit just perfectly without using this feature.
AWESOME area in the toe box. I have wide feet and need some extra room there, and these accommodate perfectly.
I will definitely buy these again.

I needed a pair of slippers with shoe-like support, and these are as good as I've found. I did order a 1/2 size up and am using my custom orthotics under the insole that they came with. This is not a perfect solution but it is better than anything else I've come up with so far. People without serious pronation may find the cork insole alone to have plenty of support, but I really needed extra.

Bought these slippers because they were said to accommodate orthotics. It's true! They fit my custom orthotics with no problem. Even with out the orthotic the removable foot bed was actually comfortable with good arch support, I happen to have very high arches so I needed a little more arch support but it you have flat feet or normal arches these shoes should be perfect. The toe box is wide, I like this because I like to move my toes around to keep them stretched. These slippers are expensive but they are well made. I do have to wear one thick pair of socks over a thin pair to keep my feet warm though (winters are cold in NJ) but I've had to do this with all my slippers, Acorns, deer forms you name it. I would buy these again but it will be a while, they seem like they will last for years.

I have a wide foot and high instep which made me kind of dubious whether these pretty slippers would fit. They are wonderful! The material is soft yet sturdy, adapts to particularities of one's feet. They fit like a glove, are costly but a sane investment in superb quality and comfort.

Great slipper! Most recently, I needed footwear which could accommodate not only my custom orthotics, but with a removable insole to fit the AFO which I needed to use. This worked wonderfully, so that when I was just relaxing around home, I could still wear comfortable slippers with my AFO! Now that I am no longer wearing the AFO, this is still a great comfortable slipper, with amazing arch support - I don't even have to use my custom orthotics! The natural color is a nice neutral. The sole is nice and sturdy for those trips out to get the newspaper. I have bunions and a wide forefoot, and these fit great - they fit a little loose around the foot, but the cinch at the ankle will tighten up nicely if needed. I did have to go up in size - they seem to run a little small. I usually wear a size 8 US. With Danskos, I normally wear a 38, or rarely a 37. With these slipper, I had to go to a 40. Thank goodness that Zappos has such a wonderful ship/return policy! Overall, well worth the money - expect that it will last for the rest of my life!

Just what I was looking for. Tried some similar styles but with my high instep I couldn't get them on or left a red line around my ankle. These are hard too but once on they fit great. Are comfortable enough to wear all day during covid and keeps my feet warm in our cold house
