If you have high arches these are a dream to wear. I thought they might be too tight because of my high instep, but they fit beautifully. I had returned my Uggs and these are by far more comfortable. These are the best slippers ever - bar none and I have gone through a ton of slippers - mostly expensive ones. You will not be sorry with these.

UPS brought these 30 minutes ago and I'm already addicted to them! They're probably the most comfortable shoe/slipper I've ever worn. I wear an 11.5 and ordered the 12 (45) - - fits perfect and the arch support is great. Never thought I'd spend this much on a pair of slippers but I'm glad, they are well worth it! Also, the Schiefer color is really cool. Do yourself a favor and get a pair!

At first when I saw the price for the Giesswein Veitsch, I wondered "Who spends so much for a pair of slippers?!?" I am typically very frugal, but have been having severe heel pain and needed a pair of house shoes that actually support my foot. These are extremely comfortable and worth every penny! They definitely provide plenty of arch support and the tiny bit of heel also helps relieve my plantar fasciitis. I am hoping to wear them for a very long time to get my money's worth, because they also seem really well-made and durable.

Every human should have a pair of these issued to them at birth. They are the perfect slippers. Everyone else should just stop making slippers. You have all lost to these geniuses. I never want to not be wearing these every second that I am home. They are great in the morning and then when you get home later after you remove your shoes. My feet are meant to be in them. They are engineered fantastically. They are durably constructed. Great design, down to the thickness and proportions of the sole and insole, and even the coating on the inside of the wool at the toe, helping improve shape and durability. They are comfortable in cold and even in warmish weather, the wool is so soft and breathable. I love that they are quality natural materials. I love these things. I am sorry that I only discovered them recently.

While this slipper will provide good arch support for most people, I need even more. The good news is that my orthotics work very well with these. I am happy! These may run a tad small; I returned the size 37 I normally wear for the 38. Suggest ordering up a size.

I could not be more pleased with these slippers. They have the best arch support I have found in slippers. Than you!

The mark ups here on Zappo's versus on their own website is almost double.

These clogs are very nice. The oatmeal color is beautiful. The wool is lovely and soft. My problem is that I have very low arches and there is no velcro adjustment to tighten the fit so that they stay on my feet.

I love wool slippers and have a pair of Emu with shearling lining, but they are too warm for year round. I wanted a a lighter pair of wool slippers that offered foot support overall, good arch support and would stay on my feet. I purchased a pair each of the Giesswein Spital and Veitsch. Neither of the styles met 100% of requirements. I normally wear a size 9.5 and ordered a 9 (European size 40) as they recommend to size down for half-sizes. The length was fine in the Veitsch, but slightly shorter in the Spital, but I could tell the wool would stretch out overtime in the Spital. I’m not sure if that is a pro or con. Both have removable insoles. The insole in Veitch is thinner with a thin suede leather covering a flexible soft plastic/foam-like framework insole. Veitsch were a little loose on my feet, but after wearing them an hour, they felt fine. The arch support is good, but not as pronounced as the Spital, but the thicker outdoor sole on Veitsch makes the shoe align better and the arch feesl just as supportive. My feet slid a little to the side in Spital, but did not in the Veitsch. I decided to keep the Veitsch because they feel sturdier and more substantial on my feet. If they get too loose, I can wear socks or insert an additional thin insole under the insole that came with it - which I tried and it fits fine. The insole in the Spital is wool covered and much higher. The arch in the Spital is good, much better than average slippers, but the upper portion the slipper does not offer much support - they remind me of the wool slipper socks, but with good arch support. The Spital has a sprayed on rubber sole which is thin and doesn’t add anything to overall support. In the past I've purchased Haflinger slippers. They quickly stretch out and become loose, and can be difficult to keep on, but they kept my feet warm.This is my first pair of Giesswein. I am anxious to see how they hold up and am happy they have so many styles to choose from.

They were the right size, neither too big or small. At first they seemed too stiff but after wearing them for a couple of hours, they began to conform to my foot. The weight is perfect because my feet get too hot in fur -lined slippers. They also appear to be quite sturdy.

I was hoping to get a slipper to replace the Halfingers I usually buy since they seem to get holes in them after only one season. Unfortunately, this Giesswein had too much arch for me. My arches are neutral (normal) and these are clearly made for people with high arches.

I have a narrow foot. I ordered a 39, which is what I wear in Birkenstocks and Danskos (usually a narrow). The length was perfect. I returned them because I had to work to keep them on my feet. I went with the Geissein Vent, and the full shoe keeps my foot contained.

These slippers have great arch support, as advertised. They are also very heavy, and the soles are very hard. I have a narrow foot and they are wide on me, so work best with socks (which also helps with the soles). Not my favorite slipper, but I am grateful for the support, since it's hard to find that in slippers.

I ended going with the Vionic Moca clog for a house shoe because it had better arch support and felt more like a shoe I could wear comfortably for doing housework and cooking. This is a very nice slipper with a wonderful classic look and a cozy feel, but only mediocre arch support for someone like me with super high arches and weak ankles.

I bought these for my daughter for Christmas, and this is what she said: The slippers are warm and functional and safe to step out of the house for a few seconds because the soles are washable. And they will last a lot longer than the Giesswein houseshoes (the ones with the cute wool appliqués), but I wish they had the cute designs on them. The sizing seems fine. It is fairly supportive, but the insoles aren’t as comfy as the houseshoes because they aren’t made out of wool. I wish they had the same insoles as the houseshoes have.

Nice House Slipper EXCEPT the size 39: in which my arch LINES UP with Footbed - My Big Toe needs 1/2 size longer AND a Higher TOE BOX. Unfortunately, the footbed in the size 40 WAS NOT in the right p;ace for my arch (BUT Big Toe was VERY happy!). I will order 2 additional styles: The Camden (even though the toe box looks similar to the Veitsch) and the Clara. People have said that the Camden did not stay on their narrow heels and people wrote that the Clara felt HUGE. I even went on to the Giesswein USA web site. They do say that some of their styles are made on a different last (which I found with their other clog "Radler" in a 38 - but was too MUCH volume). This MIGHT work for you. Such a nice insole!!!!!

My feet are size 7.5 and I have always worn other European brands (Dansko, Birkenstock) in size 38. Unfortunately the 38s were a bit too small, and the 39s are a bit too big. I kept the 39s because I really need slippers with arch support for my plantar fasciitis, and the sole seems to be the right size, but the upper part of the shoe is loose. The smaller size just didn't work well with socks and the toe felt a little short.

I need the NEXT SIZE! However in a different Gieswein slip on Clog: Radler - a 38 was O.K. This Veitsch is NOT as fully cut (Volume wise) which will be GOOD for me as the other size was much too big! The wool is nice and am looking forward to getting the next size

Excellent arch support. Comfy. They run 1-2 sizes too small, depending on if you plan to wear them with socks.

I loved the slipper, but it ran quite small. Thanks to Zappo's return policy, I will be replacing this with the next larger size.

Too small but I wear a 7 1/2 and the next size up was a little large. Beware of blisters and wear with socks as the wool irritated the top part of my feet.

I have very sensitive skin and unfortunately have developed blisters and pain where the cord around the top rubs my skin. I love the slippers and have worn them so I cannot return them but am not sure what to do about the blisters other than wearing socks with them once my skin has healed. Or I may pass them on to my daughter in law who recommended them and loves them.
