These are the shoes I wear the moment I get home, and I came back for more the moment my old pair were worn out. I like that I can go outside to pick up the mail in these, and yet they are ultra comfy. They have enough toe room that I can wiggle my toes regardless of what kind of socks I'm wearing. In the summer they're not too hot, and in the winter my feet never freeze. Between the arch support and the soles I can go about on my hardwood floors without aching all the time. I doubt there's a better pair of slippers out there. BTW, I usually have problems with slippers staying on, but that little bit of heel makes all the difference, without rubbing.

These slippers are very comfortable. The arch support is moderate and toe-box is roomy. Because of the wide toe box it may run a little big so ordering one size down may be the way to go. I did that (36 vs 37) and found that the fit was good. One word of caution for those who wear socks with their slippers. In that case you may want to order your normal size.

I live in a historic stone bunkhouse with quarry tile floors and at the end of a long day working the ranch my feet are already sore, and then dang that floor is hard with regular Ugh slippers (formerly my favorite). I splurged for these because I'm 62 and life's too short for sore feet at the end of the day. These are terrific slippers. They fit snug out of the box--and I have narrow (B) feet. Initially the soles and arch felt stiff, but after two days' use they're a perfect fit barefoot, and snug with boot socks. They do have more sole and heel thickness than a flat slipper, so I have to pay attention and not "fall off" the heel, but that's my problem. My only regret is that I didn't buy these years ago.

Very comfortable both indoors and out. I have a fairly thin-medium wide foot and they stay on fine. It took about three times of wearing them to "break them in."

Warm, supportive and comfortable. Better with socks, but I will only wear these in the winter anyway. Nice color in the blue.

I purchased the slippers 1/2 size larger. They were a bit narrow with socks on. After a week or so they stretched out and fit me fine.

After trying both the Giesswein Vent and the Veitsch, I'm completely happy with the Veitsch, ultimately deciding I like the convenience of the no-hands needed slip on. Both styles are very comfortable, have great arch support, are warm without being claustrophobically so. I did go up a size to a 41 so I can wear socks with them, but the 40, which I normally wear in Euro sizing, also fit perfectly without socks. While these are rather expensive for "slippers," I take into consideration how much I wear slippers around the house and these are worth the price. I think of them as "house shoes" instead. Wish I'd found them sooner!

Excellent arch support, if you have high arches. I went up a size so I can wear thick winter socks with these. They are a little clunky and heavy, but they are warm and the arch support feels so much better on my feet than my old slippers. They seem durable and well made. I normally have to wear superfeet green insoles, but I was able to leave in the insoles that come with these slippers.

These slippers are the best! I finally found slippers that have good arch support and are comfortable! I wish I had found them years ago. I wear a size 11B shoe and bought size 42 in the slippers. Perfect!

These provide great support! While a little expensive, this traditional "German House Shoe" is sturdy and will last for years. I cannot stress the fantastic support enough. If you are tired of flat slippers - try these!

Wonderful slippers. These slippers fit my feet perfectly (high arches, narrow foot and wider toe base). I cannot wear slippers with a graduated toe area because the front of my foot is very square. These slippers give my toes the necessary space that they need. I do not wear socks with them and the fit is great. They are the first thing I put on when I get home. I find the price well worth what I paid for them and will buy them again.

Male-wearing with light socks. Normally wear a 43 regular in a Birkenstock or Haflinger (with light socks). Ordered a size 44 in the Giesswein and they seemed slightly smaller and narrower than the 43 Birkenstock or Haflinger (a 45 would have been too large). More pronounced arch than the Birkenstock or Haflinger. Appear they should be quite warm for winter for a house slipper. Very satisfied with the purchase.

These are better than a different pair I've had...they are not as wide as the others, which is great. The only negative thing would be the hard part in the toes area. I believe they do that to avoid the potential of a hole, which happened with the previous pair.

I'm returning these because I discovered a similar slipper with a flower on it. It would be nice if the coupon could be transferred to the next pair.

This is an amazing slipper ! I was looking for something that would be easy to get on and off, and something that, without socks, would be comfortable and warm. I also wanted to be able to walk outside, maybe even make a quick trip to the store. The Giesswein Veitsch's did this right out of the box, no break-in period required (and "yes", I went to the store wearing them). As others have said, the size tends to run a little small, so order the next size up. I checked a pair of Birkenstock's I have that fit great, they are (European) size 42. So I ordered the Veitsch in a size 43 and they fit just as great as my Birk's. I highly recommend them !

I like to keep 'house shoes' inside the door to change into after I remove my slushy snow boots. These slippers are perfect for that use. Warm but not too warm -- and with terrific arch support -- I couldn't be happier. When I first tried them on they were a bit snug but after a few moments they gently stretched to conform to my foot. I have a wide instep, a narrow heel and a high arch and they fit like a glove.

These are very comfortable but the key is to wear them without socks - bare feet work best. The slipper itself acts as a wool sock.

I love these slippers! SO comfortable for a high arch needing support. No need to break them in. Slip into them and wear as long as you want in comfort. Wide toe box, but not too wide. Just right in every way.

Great house shoe. Hope it lasts as long as my Sorels did (15 years) . Especially because they cost so much. Almost twice as much.

Seriously, these slippers are unreal! I've been prescribed orthotics, but $500 for insoles that last 1 year is a bit steep. So I've tried every insole on the market and even had custom wooden clogs made. These slippers beat all for great comfort. I like them so much, immediately bought a pair for my dad. He hasn't taken them off since.

I am very grateful to the previous reviewers for convincing me these slippers were worth this much money for they are indeed. My house is on a cement slab base with hard tile, and I needed indoor shoes to give comfort and support on such a hard surface. I was afraid it might be a while before they felt comfortable because of the firm arch support, but to my delight they were instantly comfortable from the very first step. Frankly, I want them on all the time when I am in my house. As everyone else has mentioned, make sure to order a full size bigger than normal. I was afraid because of the clog style that I would need to be shuffling a bit to keep them on, but they seem to mold to the feet in a nice way (not binding though) and I have no trouble keeping the slippers in just the right position while walking around, doing tasks, or putting my feet up. Since putting on these slippers, my feet have totally stopped aching walking on my hard floors. Yes, they are definitely worth the money!

These shoes felt like heaven as soon as my feet went inside! However the back of the shoe keeps slipping, so my feet slip out of them and this is the reason that I have to return them.

I would give 6 stars if available, these things are the best! I work from home, so often I will have to roll out of bed and get to work on my home office computer. These slippers are perfect! They keep my feet warm and very comfortable. I paid up for the high price because I read they had arch support, which I really need. We have hardwood floors, which are bad for high arches. The arch support in these slippers make them super comfortable.

Greatest house shoes ever. These fit like a soft soled Birkenstock and are great to wear around the house especially if you have a bad back and/or feet. Have plantar fasciitis? Wear these around the house and it will help. At first they felt a little small but they've conformed to my foot after the first couple days.

Comfort and durability, with good support. Also slowly conform to uniqueness of our feet, love Giesswein!
