Got these shoes some years ago for a holiday retail job. Then I was reluctantly changing from an “style over comfort” shopper to, well, loving these incredible, and “ugly” shoes. They dont have a puffy-push-against your foot kind of arch support, the kind that is squishy and soft but no support. These shoes will carry you beautifully through 8 hours working holiday retail and bring you out the end of shift without swollen feet and legs. Best of all that, they certainly earn a place as cute because when you look at them you only see how not-exhausted you’re going to feel from rocking them.

I wear a size 7.5 and my feet are a little wide across the toes, but my heels are narrow. These are a size 38 and they fit perfectly. I'm so happy with them, I wanted to write a review, which I hardly ever do. I overpronate, and Sanitas don't break down, so Sanitas last a very, very long time. They are fantastic!

I have had a pair of Sanitas for 4-5 years, wearing 4-5 times a week in a harsh restaurant environment. The soles finally cracked and I had to buy another pair. I ordered the same size, 40, but had to return for a 41 as my toe touched the end of the shoe. My original pair took a while to break in..the instep was very tight, so I would leave them in a hot car with a tennis ball jammed in them to stretch them out. On this pair I ordered a wide (I have never need a wide before, nor had issues with shoes fitting my instep) and that gives me enough room and less break in period. So, while I highly recommend the durability of the shoes, the sizing can take some patience to figure out, luckily Zappo's has a great return policy. I have never had an issue with slipping on wet or greasy floors, and are comfortable even on long 12-15 hour days, so these are great for fellow restaurant professionals or anyone who needs comfortable slip resistant shoes.

I would totally recommend this clog on all points, but especially if your foot runs slightly on the narrower side. Mine do,and Dansko are really always too wide. They have a definitive arch, so a lot of support. I was looking for shoes with more cushioning. My old Sanita clogs were not as soft . A clog is a classic!

I wear a 39 shoe and a 40 in these clogs. Normally, with clogs, I wish there were a half size (39 1/2), but these work. If you feel you are between sizes in popular-brand clogs, these are the ones for you! I wanted a 2nd pair and tried a different Sanita, and they were huge in a 40, so these seem to be the ticket. These also have a soft, almost cushy footbed, while the shiny Sanita were very hard inside. I just bought my 2nd pair, and they are as comfortable as the first. I stand a lot as a college professor, and they are fantastic for that. Walking down stairs, which I also often do at work, not so great - but that's clogs (for decades I've been a clogs person - they are the most comfortable shoes that exist). The extra height is great too, since I'm 5'1". Basically, I wear them nearly all the time - at work and otherwise..

I am so happy to have found Sanita's! I love this style shoe for work because I stand on my feet a lot and am short. These shoes make me 2 inches taller! I find the Sanita's wide width to be a little wider than the Dansko's I have tried before. (Both great shoes but I need an extremely wide width.)

Comparing Sanita, Dansko and Dansko XP: I chose the Dansko Professional. Amazingly comfortable, well made, attractive shoe. I am a doctor and wear these all day. I tried the XP and although I really liked the lighter weight and the softer sole, the contour of the footbed felt better in the older version- the Professional. I tried them both for several hours in my house and the Professional gave me more support. I also tried the Sanita and those seemed really well made too, but much less arch support.

I typically wear a 5.5M and the 36 is a perfect fit. These are a lot more comfortable than Dansko, which I wore for 20 odd years. The Sanitas have more "rock" to them so they don't feel so blocky and unstable when you walk. And I have a high instep and these don't cut into them like the Danskos did. I bought the Antique Brown Oil and they are darker than the picture but a much better color. Love them. Will be buying black in the near future.

As classic shoes by most makers have increased incrementally in width over the last 15 years, I have found that I must wear narrow. This shoe has all the "Dansko" beauty but now fully made by the original sole company--Sanitas. The textured oil style is unique but doesn't feel patterned or hippy. Very classic and I just love the matte finish. I have been making excuses to wear these with more and more outfits because the comfort and the style is there...arguably more than the finished leather, which were my last pair. I have high arches and can tell if shoes are not providing enough by the pain in my knee. These are wonderful support.

Third time's the charm! I read reviews that said these ran small, so I ordered a size 39 wide in the Sanita (normally a 38 in Dansko) as well as a 38 in the Dansko in regular width just for comparison. The 39 wide was way too big -- too long although the width felt fine. Returned the size 39 wide for 38 wide which so far seem to fit perfectly (still brand new and not broken in yet. Noticeably more comfortable across the box than the Dansko in 38 regular width. Given your foot shape you may or may not find these fit true to size.

Love my Sanita clogs! Have tried on others and they were bulky and too shiny! Reminded me of Minnie Mouse shoes! These are more streamlined. Very comfortable! And easy to wipe clean with damp cloth! I am an international flight attendant and can't wait to put these on when on board! Highly recommend! I wear a 6 1/2 and ordered the 7 as recommended and they are perfect!

I have worn size 38 Danskos for years. Ever since Dansko started making their shoes in China I have not been happy with the shoes. When I heard about Sanitas and how they are still made in the original European factories I decided to try them out. I had heard that you need to buy a full size larger so I bought size 39. They fit great in the length but they are narrow - they fit exactly like I had purchased the narrow width instead of the regular. So be sure to buy 1 size larger and 1 width wider than you need. Otherwise, I love them!

Have high arches? Buy. These. Shoes. I have high arches, and a recent change to my commuting habits left my arches and calves aching in the flats I had been wearing. After talking to friends who are on their feet most of the day, I decided to give Euro-clogs a try. They are easily the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned that weren't custom made for my feet (sadly, renn faire boots don t cut it in the corporate world.) They run true to size and width. If you have a wide foot, you want to order a wide. My 8W to 8.5W US translates to a perfect 39W Euro. My only word of caution: if you have weak ankles, they do tend to roll a little to the outside if you're not careful. I've given myself a nasty sprain once, and now walk with much more attention to gait (which is better for me anyway.)

Wow, WAY TOO SMALL, and I ordered 1 whole size up! I am normally an 8.5 W or 9, and decided to try these in a 40 W. Ouch! Am happy to report, however, that the 41 W was just right. Don't shy away from these shoes, they are seriously comfortable. Just order their Wide versions in 1.5 to 2 sizes up if you have wide feet and you should be fine.

Had to order several sizes to find the right pair for me, but ended up ordering a full size up from my normal size. I found these to be much better for my narrow feet with high arches than the pair of Dansko clogs I tried. I haven't worn them for a full 12 hour shift yet but so far they seem like they will be a much needed upgrade from the sneakers I have been wearing.

I love the shoe leather feel and the fit ONCE MY ARCH FITS THRU THE OPENING at the top of the clog. Length is fine and so is width once foot in. Unfortunately I've now worn the clogs and I'm thinking I need to take them to shoe repair to get top stretched--or find a good shoe horn.

It took two orders and three pairs to find the ones that fit me perfectly. First couple were a smidge short. The third pair are perfect. All three fit loose in the heel and provide enough height to not bother my bunions. I have bad ankles and these help me to walk without pain. For me they fit like the Dansko XP 2.0 and Pro pairs I have.
Definitely recommend but patience to find the right pair that fit may be needed. Thank goodness for Zappos great and easy returns and fast shipping.

I have been wearing Dansko/Sanita clogs, size 37, for decades. After reading the many comments on Zappos and other sites about the smaller Sanita sizing I ordered a size larger than I normally wear. It tuned out to be too large. So I will be returning them.

These shoes would just not accommodate my moderately high arches. I tried my size (40 / US women's 9-9½) and the next size up (41 / US women's 10), and the pressure on my arches was just too uncomfortable. They were hard to get on and left an impression on the top of my foot. I even brought them to a shoe repair shop to see about getting the arches stretched, and was immediately told that the arches could not be stretched on these shoes. I do not think that I was the first person to go in with that request. These shoes are so cute and so well made, so I was really disappointed that I had to send them back. If you know you have a lower arch, these should work out fine for you.

These shoe looks great! But they are way too small. I need to go two sizes up but they do not make them that large. Unfortunately I will have to pick different shoes.

These have taken a couple of weeks to get used to, but now I like them. They are very comfortable for standing/walking all day long. They aren't very fashionable, but are OK under long pants with dark socks.

I typically wear 8.5W or 9 in most shoes. Ordered these in a 40W (what supposedly corresponds to a 9-9.5 W). My fluffy feet didn't stand a chance. Could barely slide them in. Sanitas sizing is way off for those of us in the U.S. Don't be afraid to order up to 2 sizes bigger. They truly are comfortable shoes if you can find the right fit. For me, the 41W (supposedly US 10 wide) were Just Right and I even found that the length of the shoes were in line with my size 9 Merrell, New Balance, and Fila shoes.

I initially ordered a size 40 (the size of the clog that fit last year--slightly tight at first but stretched a little to become perfect). This year, the very same clog in the same size, same leather and same color was about an inch too long and absolutely falling off my foot. Note I usually wear an 8.5 shoe, but vary for 8.0 to 9.0 deopending on cut. I returned the size 40 and ordered a 39 but was unable to even jam my foot down into the cog, I felt like the 39 was a size 7 and the 40 was a size 9.5-10.
It seems to me that the quality control in manufacturing has gone awry. The shoe looked well made but the sizing was incomprehensible. I am very disappointed because I have been wearing these clogs for 20 years and now am unable to buy them without going into a shoe store and trying on the specific pair I plan to buy.

I bought the identical shoe one year ago. Tried 39 (which should be correct) too small so bought 40 and fit well. This year 40 is falling off my foot! These shoes are too expensive to have such poor quality control.

I don't know what Sanita has done to the design of their shoes, but they don't fit me anymore. My current 2 pairs of Sanita clogs (full shoe style, not slides) are both 43M, but I just tried the Professional Oil in Black and the women's 43M don't fit. Most women's styles don't come in a wide and size 43 is the largest women's size they offer. Since these clogs are unisex and the same color is offered in mens, I bought the same clog in men's sizes 44 and 45 (the 45 since I've been reading so much about other folks also having problems with them being too small). Men's sizes didn't offer wide. The 44 was snug w/o socks, but was better than the 43. The 45 gave me the right space at my heel and was proportionally wider, and would have worked with a thin sock but still didn't feel quite right. What is going on? My foot has been the same size for years. It's not my foot so has to be the shoe. Come on Sanita.... so disappointed. They are all going back.
